Chapter 252 - 251 : Genya's Plans!!
"Huh? Genya...?"
Kitsuchi was stunned for a moment. He didn't know what his father was trying to say but continued, "Last night, a lot of people saw him on Deidara's flying bird. He watched the battle alongside Deidara!"
"With Deidara?" Ōnoki nodded but kept his gaze fixed on Genya.
"Father, did you notice something?" Kitsuchi looked at Ōnoki. When no one else was around, he still addressed him as "father" instead of "Tsuchikage," and his tone was much less formal.
"Look at Genya's back. Doesn't it seem familiar to you?" Ōnoki said slowly, his voice somewhat heavy.
"His back?" Kitsuchi was momentarily confused but followed his father's gaze to look at Genya's silhouette.
Wait... It really does seem familiar.
In his mind, this figure suddenly overlapped with the one he saw last night—the black-robed figure.
Kitsuchi turned to Ōnoki.
"Father, you're not saying he looks like the black-robed ninja from last night, are you?"
"Exactly. Doesn't he?" Ōnoki's voice remained serious. "Besides, Genya is from the Uchiha clan. He also has the potential to copy jutsu!"
"He does look a bit similar, but Genya is just a kid. And based on our investigation, Uchiha Genya hasn't awakened the Sharingan yet—how could he copy jutsu?" Kitsuchi analyzed seriously before glancing at Genya's back again. "There's no way it's him!"
In his mind, the black-robed ninja from last night was simply too powerful. It was impossible for Genya to be that person.
"It looks like I might be overthinking things!" Ōnoki shook his head with a bitter smile, pushing aside his doubts. Just as Kitsuchi had said, that cloaked man couldn't possibly be Genya.
The cloaked man was far too strong. There was no way a six- or seven-year-old could possess such abilities.
Even Uchiha Madara didn't have that kind of power at that age. Maybe the overwhelming pressure from last night's encounter had left a lingering shadow in his mind.
"Don't worry, Dad! I'll arrange for patrols to continue the search. We'll capture that cloaked man for sure!" Kitsuchi could see his father's anxiety and quickly reassured him.
Last night's battle had likely become a nightmare for his father. Especially since the cloaked man had used Dust Release—it left Ōnoki feeling deeply unsettled.
"Continue the investigation, but don't waste too many resources on it," Ōnoki shook his head, signaling for Kitsuchi not to overextend their forces.
Kitsuchi frowned. "Why?"
"The cloaked man's goal was our Iwagakure jutsu. Now that he's learned what he wanted, there's nothing left here to interest him," Ōnoki said seriously.
"Besides, he has the Flying Thunder God Technique. Even if we surrounded him, we wouldn't be able to stop him."
Rather than throwing the village into unnecessary panic, it was better to act like nothing had happened.
"Understood!" Kitsuchi nodded, agreeing with his father's reasoning.
"One more thing," Ōnoki looked at Kitsuchi and continued, "Send some people to keep an eye on that Uchiha kid until they leave Iwagakure."
Kitsuchi nodded and left to make the arrangements.
For the next two days, Genya didn't make any moves—he was simply resting.
On the third day, the goods were finally delivered. As soon as the transaction was complete, an Iwagakure ninja appeared and bluntly ordered Genya's group to leave the village.
Genya didn't care. Without hesitation, he led his people out of Iwagakure.
Only after they had traveled ten miles outside the village did the ninjas assigned to tail them finally withdraw.
"Genya, are we going to look for Deidara?" Uchiha Shin glanced at Genya, asking curiously.
Logically speaking, Deidara was from the Land of Earth. If it were him, he definitely wouldn't seek Deidara out.
"I made a promise to my dear brother Deidara—to meet him after leaving Iwagakure and have a little spar!" Genya said casually.
A spar?
Uchiha Shin was surprised. He didn't understand why Genya wanted to spar with Deidara. After all, Deidara's jutsu was quite unique, making him tricky to deal with.
"We have a deal. If I beat him, he'll leave Iwagakure with me," Genya explained again.
"Leave with you, Genya?" Uchiha Shin's eyes turned serious, and his tone became heavy. "Can he be trusted? Deidara is one of Iwagakure's top ninjas, extremely talented. Will they really let him leave the Land of Earth so easily?"
"Heh... Iwagakure has already abandoned him. Otherwise, they wouldn't have exiled him from the village," Genya said with a smile. "If Deidara truly wants to leave, they won't be able to stop him."
Huh?
Uchiha Shin didn't argue. It was true that Iwagakure had exiled Deidara.
Of course, it wasn't entirely their fault—Deidara was simply too dangerous. Even Konoha probably wouldn't have kept someone like him in the village.
"Genya-sama, don't tell me you're planning to recruit him into Atsukara?" Hikari spoke up at this moment, eyes flickering with curiosity.
"You got it!" Genya nodded and revealed his thoughts once again. "Deidara's abilities are special. His strengths and weaknesses in battle are obvious. With a little training, he could become a top-tier ninja."
Though Genya often criticized Deidara's art as imperfect and believed he could easily defeat him, Deidara's raw talent was undeniable.
That was exactly why he wanted to recruit him.
"But can he really be trusted? He's still a ninja of the Land of Earth," Uchiha Shin was still hesitant, thinking Genya might be acting too rashly. After all, Deidara still had some connection to the Tsuchikage.
"Relax... I won't tell him any classified secrets, nor will I bring him into the clan," Genya reassured him seriously. While he personally believed in Deidara's character, he knew Uchiha Shin wouldn't be so easily convinced.
After all, even when Deidara joined the Akatsuki, he never truly betrayed anyone.
"Alright!" Uchiha Shin didn't say anything more. He knew once Genya made a decision, it wouldn't be easily changed. Besides, having a top-tier ninja like this join their side would be a huge advantage.
With that settled, they decided to head to Deidara's location while letting the people delivering supplies leave first.
One hour later.
From a distance, Genya spotted a house made of earth release techniques. Deidara seemed completely absorbed in studying his clay bombs.
Boom~~
Before they could even get close, a massive explosion erupted. The entire house was caught in the blast and collapsed instantly!
Deidara was sent flying through the air, but he quickly tossed out a clay bird to catch himself, preventing a complete fall.
"As expected, this guy is still as reckless as ever..." Genya twitched at the corner of his mouth. At this point, he felt like Iwagakure was right to expel him!
Deidara, still on his clay bird, finally noticed Genya and his group approaching in an ox cart. "Oh! Genya, you're finally here! You made me wait forever!"
Ever since leaving Iwagakure, Deidara had been doing nothing but researching his clay bombs—and thinking about how to get back at Genya!
