"Leave now, and I might let you live," Jiraiya said coldly.

"Jiraiya, I'll say this one more time: this is not Konoha's land. This is the Land of Rain. We have every right to be here, and you have no authority to interfere," the elite jōnin from the Land of Earth retorted, unfazed by Jiraiya's threats.

He was confident that Konoha wouldn't dare to attack them. The reason was simple: if the Land of Earth and the Land of Wind joined forces, even Konoha would have to think twice before making a move.

"Then you're asking for death."

A cold glint flashed in Jiraiya's eyes. Slamming his hands together, he instantly entered Sage Mode.

The Land of Wind and the Land of Earth had only about a hundred ninja combined. They had no chance against Konoha's forces.

"Retreat!" the elite jōnin from the Land of Earth bellowed.

"Too late," Jiraiya said, flinging his Lightning Flame Blade toward the elite jōnin. Twin blazing tigers roared forth, tearing through the battlefield.

"Separate the Land of Earth ninja!" Jiraiya commanded.

Among all the nations, the Land of Earth was known for its superior teamwork. Their coordinated group tactics made them formidable in battle.

If the Akatsuki had the same level of coordination as the Land of Earth's forces, they could have easily crushed the five great villages.

"ARGH!"

In mere moments, Jiraiya's blade sliced through the elite jōnin of the Land of Earth, cutting him cleanly in half.

He retrieved his Soul Vessel and captured the man's spirit.

With Konoha's six elite jōnin, including Sage Mode Jiraiya, ganging up on a single enemy commander, victory was effortless.

With the enemy leader down, Konoha's forces quickly overwhelmed the remaining ninja.

Within five minutes, every single ninja from the Land of Wind and the Land of Earth was slaughtered. Not a single one survived.

"A bunch of weaklings, daring to act tough in front of us," Raiden scoffed, wiping blood from his face before spitting on the ground.

"Now that we've taken out the enemy forces, we have to prepare for retaliation from three different sides," a Nara Clan elite jōnin pointed out.

"They attacked us first. Were we supposed to just stand there and let them kill us?" Jiraiya countered.

"The truth is in our hands. We'll make sure the narrative is clear: the Land of Wind and the Land of Earth struck first, and we were forced to defend ourselves."

With no survivors left, it didn't matter how the story was told. Konoha controlled the narrative.

"Exactly. They attacked first. And to be honest, even if they didn't, they wouldn't be able to do anything to us anyway," Raiden said dismissively.

"I'll return to the village immediately and report to the Hokage. The rest of you stay here and guard Tetsuishi Town. No matter what happens, you must hold this position. We cannot afford to let anything happen to this place."

Jiraiya's tone was serious. The village needed to be informed, more reinforcements needed to be deployed, and the town's resources had to start being extracted.

"Don't worry. Now that we have Tetsuishi Town, no one is taking it from us," Raiden assured him.

"Unless we're all dead, this town isn't falling into enemy hands," Tetsuki added firmly.

Jiraiya nodded in satisfaction. With five elite jōnin stationed here, the town's defense was in capable hands.

The battle had cost Konoha dearly. Nearly half of their jōnin had fallen. Among them, Tsuchiki, a civilian-born ninja, had died during the assault.

War had always been merciless. One moment, your comrades were laughing beside you. The next, they were gone.

No one could ever be certain if they would survive until the end of the war.
