NTR GACHA-Chapter 218: Too Easy
Chapter 218: Too Easy
Leo built a small cabin near the construction site as he wasn’t traveling around and wanted to relax. As the months passed, he watched the palace being built while spending time with the girls.
He sat outside, watching snow drift down as the builders pressed on despite the harsh weather. A few moments later, Roxy stepped out, clutching two steaming mugs of tea. With a warm smile, she said. ’’Here you go, love, this’ll warm you up in this cold!’’
’’I know, and thanks for the tea,’’ Leo replied.
The blonde joined him outside as she commented after getting comfortable. ’’It’s been peaceful, not constantly fighting.’’
Leo glanced at the tanned beauty and nodded in agreement. ’’Yes, I agree. Now the empires being built up with everyone helping out puts me at ease.’’
’’What about the two Evil Gods?’’ Roxy questioned with a curious glint in her green eyes.
He shrugged, answering. ’’They will appear in time; it’s not like the duo can avoid me forever. Dark and Light are looking for the fiends anyway, so they’ll be found.’’
The young woman let out a soft giggle as she and her companion sat outside the house, watching a lively group of Demons and Demi-Humans hauling trees across the bridge with spirited determination.
Leo leaned back on the wooden bench, his breath visible in the crisp morning air, as he gazed at the construction site. The frame of the palace rose steadily, its spires beginning to pierce the sky.
Beside him, the blonde sat cross-legged, her green eyes bright with excitement, cradling a cup of hot tea. The rhythmic clang of hammers, the shouts of Demons and Demi-Humans hauling massive beams across the bridge filled the air.
’’Look at that,’’ Roxy said, nudging him with her elbow, her voice bubbling with awe. ’’They’re moving those trees like they weigh nothing!’’
A group of scaled Demi-Humans, their tails flicking in sync, carried a carved pillar into place with uncanny precision. Leo chuckled, pulling his cloak tightly around him. ’’Bet they’ve got bets going on who can lift the most. That one with the horns looks like he’s showing off.’’
He pointed to a towering Demon, muscles rippling as he single-handedly dragged a slab of marble forward, earning cheers from his crew. Roxy grinned, pouring tea into his cup and handing it to him.
’’Here, keep warm, handsome. This palace is gonna be something else, our legend in the making.’’
Her gaze softened, tracing the arches taking shape. ’’Think we’ll ever sneak in there before it’s done?’’
Leo took a sip, the warmth spreading through him as he smirked. ’’With you? We’re sneaking in. Gotta see if those spires look as good up close.’’
Roxy giggled as Astra appeared from the house with a smile, ’’Morning, you two. Just got a report that the Demon and Demi-Human capitals are now connected. Trade is flowing especially after you declared the stupid arguments between races will end. Everyone seems to be rushing around chasing profit.’’
’’Good,’’ he replied while leaning back. ’’Now work on the rest stops, watch towers and forts. Once that is done, the merchants will spread how south the north is.’’
’’Will you send the Demonic Dragons up there again?’’ Roxy questioned.
Leo drained the last of his tea, setting the mug down with a contented sigh. He rose to his feet, gazing at the workers toiling in the distance. Turning to Roxy, his eyes softened. ’’Nothing can break this peace, Blondie. We left our old lives behind, death’s done with us. Now, with my mana flowing through you, we’ve got forever.’’
His voice grew quieter, carrying the weight of battles long past. ’’I’m done fighting. All I want is to kick back with you and the girls, ruling this continent in peace. Spent all my time here battling.’’
Astra’s giggle danced in the air, her eyes sparkling as she leaned closer to Leo. ’’You’ve changed, husband, no matter the era. That fierce, brutal side of you has softened; a calmer, more peaceful version has taken its place.’’
Leo opened his mouth to respond, a half-smile forming, but before he could speak, Dark appeared in a swirl of shadow, her voice cutting through with quiet certainty. ’’Becoming a God reshaped him for the better. He sees the grand tapestry now, understands that fighting, with all his power, is futile. A mere flick of his hand could end anyone beneath him. Why bother when he can create instead?’’
He started laughing when hearing the goddess but nodded in agreement. ’’That’s it! Spot on, Dark. I own the continent, every capital from north to south, every empress is my woman and running the empire with me. It’s more than I would have had back on Earth.’’
Following that, the women continued chatting while Leo went to check on the road leading to the nearest city. While flying, he watched soldiers patrolling the road as merchants travelled back and forth.
He noticed the people looked happy and relaxed, prompting him to send out a wave of mana that washed across the landscape. There were any monsters apart from the normal ones Adventurers would hunt for their materials.
’Nothing lurking around,’ he thought with a chuckle. ’At least the economy can grow without the fear of attacks.’
Moments later, Leo flew across the landscape while scanning everything around him as the skeletons of forts, rest stops, and other things were being built along the road as towns and villages scattered around.
He stopped flying above a lake when sensing the first monsters. His senses prickled, alerting him of something dangerous. Beneath the dark waters and along the shadowed edges, he felt them: hundreds of giant crocodiles.
Leo hovered lower, eyes narrowing as he caught the faint ripples breaking the lake’s stillness. Scaled tails flicked just below the surface, while others lay half-submerged at the water’s edge, their red eyes glinting like scattered embers.
Jaws that could crush stone waited silently, poised for any unsuspecting traveler who dared tread too close. The sheer number was staggering, a silent army of ambushers. Leo’s hand twitched, mana pulsing faintly at his fingertips, but he held back.
’’Clever beasts,’’ he muttered, a wry smile tugging at his lips. ’’Hiding in plain sight, waiting for a meal to stumble by.’’
He scanned the shoreline, noting the faint trails of claw marks in the mud. This was no random gathering, they were organized, disciplined, lying in wait for chaos to claim the unwary.
Moments later, they all noticed Leo. Tails thrashed, sending ripples across the surface, while those at the water’s edge bared their jagged teeth, sensing a challenger. Their low growls rolled like distant thunder, but his expression remained calm, almost amused.
’’Time to clear the board and get rid of these horrible beasts before they kill someone,’’ he said softly, his voice carrying a weight that silenced the night.
He raised one hand, and the air around him crackled, mana igniting in a radiant glow. Pinpoints of light sparked into existence—hundreds of them, each a pulsing orb of raw power.
The crocodiles froze, instincts screaming danger, but it was too late. With a flick of his wrist, Leo unleashed the storm. Mana blasts rained down like a meteor shower, each one a searing bolt of sapphire energy.
Chaos erupted when his powerful spells hit their targets. Blasts tore through the water, vaporizing it into steaming geysers as crocodiles thrashed and roared. Scales shattered, and massive jaws snapped uselessly at the unrelenting barrage.
On the shore, others lunged forward, only to be met with precise strikes that reduced them to ash as they tried to cross the mud. The onslaught was relentless yet eerily graceful, a symphony of destruction.
Within moments, the lake was still again, its surface littered with faint wisps of smoke and the fading echoes of roars. Not a single beast remained. He lowered his hand, the mana’s glow dimming as he surveyed the now-quiet expanse.
’’Too easy,’’ he murmured, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.
With a final glance at the cleansed lake, he turned and soared into the air, leaving only silence in his wake. Following that, he came across a small town that was fully built with fresh buildings.
Leo landed in the square only to spook the nearby guards, who rushed over only to stop short when they noticed it was him. They all knelt in respect, prompting him to comment. ’’Continue with your duties. I’m exploring the empire while relaxing.’’
Afterward, the soldiers saluted before he started exploring the town, and after ten minutes, he spotted stalls selling food, which made his stomach grumble. Leo approached the closest one that had dumplings all over the counter. frёewebηovel.cѳm
While looking at that, an older man looked up, only to go pale when noticing him, but he shook his head and spoke. ’’My Lord. What can I do for you?’’
Leo dug into his pouch, pulling out a handful of gleaming gold coins and passing them over with a grin. ’’Make it quick, two of everything on the menu. I’m starving, and that smell’s driving me wild.’’
