One Piece: Invincible Starting From The Fruit Of Words-Chapter 185 The News Of Kaido’s Death Spread, And Lucifer Shook The World Again
Chapter 185 - 185 The News Of Kaido's Death Spread, And Lucifer Shook The World Again
Wanokuni, the Flower Capital.
The members of the Nether Pirates were holding a grand banquet to celebrate their victory in the recent war.
"Captain Lucifer, we offer you a toast!"
"Thank you for defeating Kaido and saving Wanokuni!"
"Your kindness and virtue are unforgettable!"
Inuarashi, Nekomamushi, and Denjiro approached Lucifer, raising their glasses in unison.
"You're welcome. Cheers," Lucifer said with a light smile and clinked glasses with them.
After the toast, Kozuki Hiyori stepped forward with a serious expression.
"Lord Lucifer, as per our prior agreement, I hereby hand over the rule of Wanokuni to you in the name of the Kozuki family," she declared.
"From this day onward, you are the rightful ruler of Wanokuni. I trust you to guide its people toward a prosperous and beautiful future and help open Wanokuni to the world."
With that, Hiyori drained her cup of sake.
Lucifer raised his glass in response, his tone resolute. "I will not break my promise."
Though Lucifer cared little for the title of ruler, Hiyori's endorsement ensured that the samurai of Wanokuni would not oppose his leadership.
As the thousands of samurai present witnessed Hiyori's gesture, no one dared to voice any objections.
The warriors of Wanokuni were renowned for their combat prowess, surpassing even the so-called elite Marines and pirates. Their allegiance significantly bolstered the strength of the Nether Pirates.
During the celebrations, Charlotte Owen hurried over, visibly excited. "Captain Lucifer, we've recovered the Crimson Stone!"
As Owen spoke, a group of pirates approached from the distance, carrying a massive red stone. Eight pirates carefully set it down before Lucifer.
This was the Crimson Stone once owned by Kaido. During the war, it had sunk to the seafloor but was later salvaged.
"The third Crimson Stone is finally ours," Lucifer said, his tone filled with satisfaction. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
With this stone, Lucifer now possessed three of the four Road Poneglyphs needed to locate Raftel.
"Well done," he praised.
"Thank you, Lord Lucifer. It's all thanks to your leadership," Owen responded with a grin.
Lucifer immediately contacted Nico Robin, who was far away in Totto Land, using a video transponder snail. He tasked her with deciphering the historical text on the Crimson Stone.
Shortly after, Robin provided the third coordinate. Now, only one final piece was needed to unlock the path to Raftel.
"Everyone!" Lucifer stood, raising his glass high. "Let us celebrate our victory over the Beasts Pirates! Cheers!"
"Cheers!!!"
Laughter and joy filled the air.
"Drink up!"
"If you don't get drunk, you can't leave!"
The grand banquet, attended by tens of thousands of pirates, stretched on for days and nights without pause.
As time passed, news of the Nether Pirates' victory over the Beasts Pirates spread across the world.
Naval Headquarters was the first to receive word, thanks to an undercover operative.
The second was none other than Morgans, the president of the World Economic Journal.
Though Morgans' intelligence network was unparalleled, his recent skirmishes with the Nether Pirates had forced him into hiding. As a result, he was slightly delayed in obtaining the news.
"The Nether Pirates defeated the Beasts Pirates. Another major story!"
In a hidden location—the headquarters of his news agency—Morgans studied the photographs in his hands, his eyes glinting with excitement.
"President, are we really going to publish this?" one of his subordinates asked hesitantly.
"Lucifer is still hunting us down. Do we really need to give him more publicity?"
"You idiot!" Morgans snapped, slamming his desk. "As a reporter, our duty is to deliver the news, no matter what!"
He jabbed a clawed finger at the photos. "This is big news! It will shake the entire world!"
One of the reporters muttered under his breath, "As if Lucifer hasn't already done that a dozen times."
Morgans shot him a glare.
Ever since Lucifer's rise, every event surrounding him had been groundbreaking. For most, the destruction of a Yonko crew would be an earth-shattering revelation. But for Morgans' team, it was just another day at work.
Still, the news was prepared, and newspapers were printed en masse before being delivered across the globe by thousands of newsbirds.
As always, Morgans ensured the first copies were distributed for free, ensuring the story spread like wildfire.
New World, Moby Dick.
There was silence on the ship, and the members of the Whitebeard Pirates were all reading the newspaper without a word.
"Kaido falls! Lucifer defeats another Emperor!"
"The strongest creature in the world, Kaido of the Beasts, is dead!"
"The territory of the Nether Pirates expands rapidly, now ruling half of the New World!"
"Who is Lucifer's next target? The Red-Haired Pirates or Whitebeard?"
"The Royal Wars begin again: After Kaido, who will be the next stepping stone?"
"How long until Lucifer dominates the New World?"
Morgans' headlines were as sensational as ever, but the members of the Whitebeard Pirates had grown numb to them.
Even so, the headlines couldn't fully capture Lucifer's terrifying power.
"To think... even Kaido is dead!"
Diamond Joz held the newspaper, shaking his head in disbelief, a flicker of fear lingering in his eyes.
"As expected," Foil Vista said calmly. "Everyone knew Kaido was no match for Lucifer."
"Lucifer's next target will likely be us," Marco added gravely, his voice breaking the tense silence.
All eyes turned toward Whitebeard.
"You're right," Whitebeard said after a moment, taking a deep breath. His deep, commanding voice echoed across the ship. "Send word to gather all our forces."
"A war is coming, and the first battle will decide everything."
The Moby Dick fell silent again.
In the past, the Whitebeard Pirates would have been fired up at the prospect of battle, their spirits high and their determination unshakable. But this time, the uncertainty of facing someone like Lucifer loomed over them.
Lucifer was no ordinary foe—he was the man who had single-handedly killed two of the Four Emperors.
"Father, we..." A crew member hesitated, his voice trailing off mid-sentence.
Everyone understood what he wanted to say. The chances of victory were slim.
"Gu ra ra ra ra!"
Whitebeard's booming laughter shattered the heavy silence.
"You fools! Don't make such pitiful faces!" he roared, his eyes burning with unyielding resolve. "The battle hasn't even started, and we are far from defeated."
"Don't forget, I am Whitebeard! I haven't grown so weak that I can't lift a blade!"
As if to prove his point, an overwhelming aura exploded from Whitebeard, spreading in all directions. Thunder cracked across the sky as the air itself seemed to tremble.
It was his Conqueror's Haki, still as awe-inspiring as ever.
Emboldened by Whitebeard's indomitable will, the crew's spirits soared once more.
"That's right! We are the Whitebeard Pirates!"
"We were the strongest then, and we are still the strongest now!"
"The Whitebeard Pirates are invincible! We will never be defeated!"
"What about Lucifer? If he dares to come, we'll face him head-on!"
"Father is the strongest in the world!"
Though briefly shaken by Lucifer's growing legend, the Whitebeard Pirates were hardened veterans. They didn't fear battle, nor did they fear death.
Every member of the crew was fiercely loyal to Whitebeard. Even if they knew they couldn't win, they would fight by his side without hesitation.
Well, almost everyone.
In a shadowed corner of the ship, Blackbeard sat quietly, his dark eyes glinting with disdain.
Like the others, he cheered and raised his voice to boost morale. But deep inside, his thoughts were far from loyal.
"A bunch of fools," Blackbeard thought to himself. "Fighting a battle they know they can't win. What utter stupidity."
"Whitebeard is old. Do they really think he can protect them forever?"
His lips curled into a sneer as he glanced around. "I'm not going to die with these idiots."
Blackbeard's ambition was far from fulfilled, and he wasn't about to let himself sink with a ship he considered doomed.
"I need to find a chance to leave this crew as soon as possible," he mused, his mind already working on an escape plan.
He scanned the ship, thinking about his next steps.
"I thought I'd get the Dark-Dark Fruit by staying on Whitebeard's ship," he muttered to himself. "But now, with the Whitebeard Pirates falling apart, even that plan's gone up in smoke."
"What world's strongest pirate crew? It's just a ship full of idiots."
He shook his head in frustration. "And Whitebeard... he's an old fool. Fighting a war he knows he can't win. What's the point?"
Blackbeard's eyes gleamed coldly. "Even if you want to fight, why not ally with the Red-Haired Pirates? Why face Lucifer alone?"
As the Whitebeard Pirates prepared for their inevitable clash with Lucifer, Blackbeard remained lost in his thoughts, scheming and plotting his escape from what he saw as a sinking ship.
