Online Game: Crazy Skeleton-Chapter 1672 - 1464: Long-winded Luta (Two in One)
Chapter 1672: Chapter 1464: Long-winded Luta (Two in One)
"Stop daydreaming, this has nothing to do with the mission. Luta helping us would truly be a miracle!"
Su Ran followed closely behind Luta, sending a message to the team, "No need to trouble Senior Luta, I have a way to distract it."
When it came to dealing with the Black Abyss Lake Guardian, Su Ran was full of confidence. Though he couldn’t beat it, he could certainly annoy it to no end.
He was already prepared to use Ice Vortex. As long as that thing dared to approach, he’d show it what’s what!
As for his supernatural pets, only the little zombie was left out. The rest were withdrawn. The little zombie’s bone whip had a knockback attribute, which might just come in handy.
"Brother Overturning Water, whatever you do, don’t go head-to-head with that thing. Blood Vessel Space only opens once a month—dying now wouldn’t be worth it!"
Banana’s face looked pale, and he seemed completely devoid of energy. No need to guess—he’d been dealing with an upset stomach.
"You really are a jinx. As if Overturning Water wouldn’t know better than you?"
Xue Wuqing cast a sidelong glance at Banana. "You should worry more about your stomach. If you can’t stand it, just log off and rest. It’s just a game; no need to go overboard."
"Sister Wu Qing, are you... showing concern for me?"
Banana was overwhelmed with emotion. "This is the first time, in my entire life, that a girl has shown concern for me. I’m so touched!"
"Ugh, how could you misinterpret that? Just pretend I never said anything."
Xue Wuqing rolled her eyes and rubbed her forehead in disbelief, choosing not to say anything further.
"Warriors, follow me! The exit is just ahead."
Luta glanced back at the struggling group, smiled, and said, "I’ll be waiting for you at the mountaintop. Good luck."
Having said that, Luta leaped straight out of the cave and flew toward the peak of Lifeline Mountain.
"Damn, he didn’t spare us even a shred of kindness. Wouldn’t it have been great if he’d driven away that big brute for us? Instead, he left us to face this hardship!"
Banana grumbled in frustration, clearly unhappy about Luta’s irresponsible behavior.
"Think about it—Luta and the Black Abyss Lake Guardian are on the same side. The fact that he’s not helping it attack us is already a blessing; you should be grateful!"
Su Ran chuckled at Banana’s sulky expression. "You guys wait here for a bit. I’ll lure the boss away first. Once it’s safe, you can come out."
As soon as he spoke, Su Ran leapt out of the pit, stepping through thin air, and quickly ascended into the sky.
"I have no idea where that skeleton gets his confidence from. Let’s hope he doesn’t screw it all up!"
Ling Wei, unimpressed by Su Ran’s demeanor, commented with a sarcastic tone.
"Xiao Wei, if you’re worried, why not go and help him? I fully support you."
Xue Wuqing shot Ling Wei a teasing look. "It might even improve your relationship with him, wouldn’t you say?"
"Tch, like I’d waste my energy helping him. If he dies out there, all the better—out of sight, out of mind!"
Ling Wei wasn’t falling for Xue Wuqing’s trap and leaned against the rock wall, saying nothing more.
...
After jumping out of the pit, Su Ran couldn’t help but feel emotional as he looked at the familiar mountainside bathed in warm sunlight. So much had happened in such a short time that it felt as though a lifetime had passed.
Just as Su Ran’s mind began to wander, a sudden gust of wind swept past from behind, sharp and menacing.
"Not good—an ambush!"
Su Ran nearly jumped out of his skin. He understood immediately what was happening. Without even needing to look back, he knew the attacker was none other than the Black Abyss Lake Guardian, lying in wait all along!
What a sly move!
Faced with this unexpected attack, Su Ran didn’t panic overly much. He sprinted through the air with all his might, narrowly avoiding danger.
Thankfully.
The brute lacked any flying ability. Under the force of gravity, it slammed heavily into the ground. Even after several attempts to leap up, it couldn’t reach Su Ran’s height and finally roared in frustration, venting its fury.
"I can’t believe you’d resort to such underhanded tactics!"
Su Ran stared at the brute in surprise. If it ever managed to land a hit, it would either leave his body in pieces or cripple him entirely.
"Huff, huff!"
The brute’s eyes burned with anger, and it heaved deep breaths, staring at Su Ran like he was its mortal enemy, with no intention to hide its hostility.
"Why so hostile? You’re the one who ambushed me—I haven’t even gotten mad, yet you’re foaming at the mouth. What’s this? Want me to just stand here and let you beat me up so you can feel better?"
Su Ran didn’t waste any time. After finishing his rambling speech, he activated the Ice Vortex skill. The vortex formed swiftly in mid-air, whirling directly toward the Black Abyss Lake Guardian.
Against the Ice Vortex, the brute’s height advantage vanished completely. It roared angrily, crossed its hands to shield itself, hoping to block the incoming whirlwind.
In reality, it had underestimated the power of the Ice Vortex. It was swept up into the air, sharp shards of ice hidden within the whirlwind cutting into its body and leaving streaks of visible wounds.
Su Ran, however, felt a pang of disappointment. Though the Ice Vortex packed a punch, it only lifted the brute about three meters off the ground. It didn’t last long before the brute plummeted straight back down. The grand idea of tossing it off the mountain had to be abandoned.
At the critical moment, the little zombie leapt down from Su Ran’s shoulder and unleashed its Soul Bewilderment skill once more, targeting the Guardian.
A miracle occurred.
The Black Abyss Lake Guardian’s furious expression disappeared like a receding tide. It stood there dazed and motionless. Then, under the little zombie’s control, it jumped off the mountainside again, this time decisively, cleanly—without a trace of hesitation or aftereffects.
