Overlord Tamer: All My Pet Monsters Have God Potential-Chapter 132: The Gifts (1)
Chapter 132: The Gifts (1)
The island had clear pathways of cobblestones and neatly formatted trees and plants, not to mention that the island was merely one kilometer in radius, so the big group soon arrived at the center, which was surrounded by a magical river stream in a loop around the residential area.
They saw John sipping tea in the pavilion a hundred meters away.
Crossing over the bridge, the group arrived while admiring the scenery.
"Is this your residence, Mr. Sirius? I must say, we were not expecting this."
"Indeed. Everything here makes us feel like we’ve arrived in a different world."
John chuckled. "Surely, you jest. But I just keep this island in my spatial storage so I can rest wherever I want to. A mobile residence is necessary when traveling. It’s quite common. In fact, my island is not even 1% as good as some of the seniors I know."
"..."
No one had any storage ring or space container that could store an island of this size.
They suddenly felt that their gifts might not impress Mr. Sirius Ravenstar.
’It’s the thoughts regarding the gift we chose that count. We are prepared.’ The top executive of Magnus Coin Consortium boastfully relayed to others using Magic Whisper.
’Humph, so are we.’
’We are determined to become his first customer.’
The group of eleven entered the pavilion while throwing around remarks using Magic Whisper. The others remained outside according to the orders.
John blinked and gestured. "Please sit."
He looked at the group outside and fell into thought.
[ Azelis: I can’t stop laughing. Each of them brought a younger generation of their personal ties with them, since you mentioned you were looking for an apprentice, and the ladies you see around your visible age are also temptations for you.]
Indeed, aside from the two Emperor-rank aides that each representative of the eleven forces brought, there were two more people in each group.
All the ladies were beautiful, enough to topple kingdoms. The three families—Lockham, Duraian, and Jadelight, brought fairies of their own families.
Loren Lokham brought his daughter who was twenty-six years old, while Zomei Jadelight also brought his twenty five years old daughter.
Both of them were King-rank Tamers and famous in the city.
The other ladies were either on par with or stronger than those two in strength. As for their beauty, each of them had their own charm.
Aside from them, the younger generation was all below twenty, and each of them was a Gold-rank Tamer, talented and radiating pride.
They were either direct heirs or important members of their forces.
"It seems you all quite prepared," John said with a smile.
Razorshade Syndicate’s lady chuckled wryly. "That, we hope so."
John waved his hand as suddenly, tea cups filled with fragrant and delicious tea appeared as he spent 100k Molding Essence.
The island was essentially a part of his Monster Paradise skill, allowing him to manifest anything within the island using Molding Essence.
"Have some tea. I shall use my method to choose the order in which you will show your gifts."
Everyone blinked, becoming curious as they picked up the teacup and took a sip.
’Damn, what a tea.’
’It’s made from some Emperor-rank resources...’
Indeed, the truth was a true luxury that John decided to provide since he would be getting a lot of benefits soon.
Though he also conjured it using Molding Essence, it cost him 1.1 million, so creating a real spiritual resource using Molding Essence was ultra expensive, but he didn’t need to use it for cultivation resources since the second island’s specialty was a better option for it.
"Here," John said as a palm-sized dice with twelve sides appeared on the table.
Each side had the signature symbol of the eleven forces while the 12th side was blank.
"So you are going to roll the dice? Sounds fun," Executive Rudh said with a laugh.
John smiled and nodded. "Well then, here I go."
The dice flung away from the table and fell to the side after rolling around for a bit.
"It looks like we are the first," Dreamforged Guild’s representative, their top executive, smiled.
Standing up, the middle-aged man with blue-tipped shoulder-length black hair and lean figure put his hand over his heart and smiled. "Mr. Sirius, I am Aren Veiryn, representing the Dreamforged Guild as its top executive." ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
After saying that, he looked outside at the people of his group and nodded at the Emperor-rank Tamers.
"Mr. Sirius. You told us to prepare the gift with a sincere heart and sincere efforts. After racking our brains for hours, we finally concluded."
Outside, one of the Emperor-rank Tamers waved his hand after moving a bit away, taking out a large box covered by cloth.
"We present you with the most valuable possession of our Dreamforged Guild, and there is no lie in the statement I just spoke."
As Aren finished speaking, the Emperor-rank Tamer outside pulled the cloth away, revealing a glass container holding a painting that depicted the hazy and blurry lights amidst a broken scenery of a black sky with red and blue lightning crackling all over.
At first glance, people would think that the painting was broken, but the cracks were part of the painting itself.
"This..."
"You pulled this out?!"
The other representatives were visibly startled.
John blinked. ’The hack is that?’
[Item Name]: ???
[Rank]: Special.
His inspection didn’t work as he desired.
[ Jibril: Looks like it’s very valuable, but those two things that are hazy and blurry facing each other are so strange. ]
[ Azelis: Wow, I can’t believe they took out this thing instead of sending it away. But that means they are trying to probe you more or rather, hoping you would uncover the nature of this painting. The head of the Dreamforged Guild returned with this painting a year ago from a special dimensional island, but nobody could uncover its mystery or find its use since whoever tried to inspect the painting using their soul sense received a soul attack and fainted while remembering nothing of what occurred. I’ve even tried it since the Dreamforged Guild’s Master allowed many to have a try at it, and had the same result as others. ]
[ Jibril: Oh no. Mr. Sirius is supposed to be powerful and filled with vast knowledge, so they are hoping he would know more about it than they do. ]
’Chuthulos, I need a bit of your help in seeing through this thing. Fast.’
Outside, John blinked as he looked at the painting and chuckled. "That’s a rather interesting painting. Pray tell your thoughts behind choosing this as the gift."
Aren Veiryn bowed his head slightly, eyes calm yet brimming with hidden hope.
"Mr. Sirius," he said, voice carrying a weight that drew all attention, "this painting was found by our Guild Master a year ago during a rare expedition into a special dimensional island that had surfaced only for a day. He returned gravely injured but alive, holding only this painting."
He looked toward the glowing, cracked canvas displayed behind him—its distorted, mesmerizing depth sparking unease and awe in equal measure.
"It withstood every test, every attempt at analysis. All top powerhouses of our forces tried to probe it with soul sense," Aren paused, his fingers curling inward ever so slightly, "but all fainted or lost memory of the experience."
He looked up, meeting John’s eyes with resolute honesty.
"We do not believe we are worthy of keeping this."
Gasps rose from some representatives, but none interrupted.
’Look at him!’
’Tsk.’
’Great pitching, humph.’
Aren continued. "It is a fragment of a truth we cannot bear. But you—"
He lowered his head again, voice soft but unwavering. "We believe you, Mr. Sirius Ravenstar, are the only one worthy of possessing this mysterious painting."
