Chapter 52: Total Loot

As Lesly began speaking names, the kids came to the center and took out their resources on the large table Lesly had prepared.

Soon, it was the blue-haired kid’s turn that John had encountered.

"Maison Yon!"

The boy walked to the table and began taking out the resources.

In the end, he got a total of 27 Bronze-rank resources, and 7 Silver-rank resources.

All kids had acquired resources around that, only a few so far had crossed 30+ Bronze resources and 10+ Silver resources.

"Not bad, that one is a fairly potent Silver-rank Vine Flower. After counting everything, your total evaluation is between 12k to 14k Bronze Essence Coins and 2k to 4k Silver Essence Coins, Maison. That puts you at 9th rank so far."

"Damn, bro is going to earn some good Silver Essence Coins with that Vine Flower."

"Yeah, it’s definitely a top-tier one and can easily be sold at a maximum price of 1000 Silver Essence Coins at the Tamer’s Market."

John knew the prices of the resources were volatile, but a Bronze-rank resource generally costs between 100 to 1000 Bronze Essence Coins while a Silver-rank resource generally costs between 100 to 1000 Silver Essence Coins.

Gold-rank resources cost between 10 to 100 Gold Essence Coins, but their price could very well go above 1000 Gold Essence Coins depending on the rarity and potency of the resources and even more if it’s an identified resource required for a Gold-rank Monster’s Skill evolution, Talent Awakening, or Rank-up to King-rank.

Similarly, If it was some rare Silver or Bronze resources not available in the market, but having high demand, it could cost more than the regular, but the rule of thumb was that lower-valued essence coins couldn’t be used to buy higher-ranked resources.

Buying a Silver-rank resource by paying with Bronze Essence Coins was a no-go at any place. None would accept.

Naturally, the big companies that manufactured daily products and big alchemy houses selling consumables usually had their own farms where they grew the necessary resources to make their products.

Finally, after everyone had their turn, Lesly spoke John’s name at the end.

"The new wicked."

"Pff..."

"Let’s see what he got."

"Maybe he will surprise us."

"A wicked surprise."

"Stop it."

John calmly walked to the table, a faint smirk on his face because he was about to shit on everyone.

Arriving in front of the table, John waved his hand as the resources appeared, each one attached with a string as they calmly floated before landing at the perfect short distance from each other, almost filling the whole big table.

"What..."

"What the fuck?!"

"How many is that?"

"Wait, how many of them are Silver-rank?!"

"Holy shit..."

While the kids were dumbfounded, Lesly blinked twice before she opened her mouth, "Oh my...that’s quite a haul you got there, John."

Bronze-rank Resources: 47

Silver-rank Resources: 22

John waved his hand before Lesly could finish counting and said with a smile, "Well, there’s no need to evaluate, is there?"

"That...is true," Lesly wryly smiled. "Good job, John. Now I am very much looking forward to the competition nine days later. The only thing you lack is progress in your physical stats using Monster Geno Art and I suppose some Soul Techniques. Train well in them during the next nine days."

John grinned. "That’s the plan."

...

After John showed his results, some students actively approached him, asking him about his Pets and himself while introducing them.

John had remembered everyone who was mocking him, and fortunately, none of those who did approached him. If they did, he was going to be as blunt as possible with "fuck off" as his response.

The blue-haired kid suddenly spoke up, "I actually fought him and he wiped the floor with me."

The kids were startled. Although Maison wasn’t strong among Silver-rank, he wasn’t too bad as his progress and combat ability were above average.

"But he told me to get lost after that," Maison snorted as he looked at John with several people around him, who were also looking at him.

John chuckled in response and said, "My bad. I thought you were going to be nasty after you lost since you suddenly decided to rush at me and I barely called my monsters from the vicinity in time."

John knew at least this guy wasn’t one of those who mocked him, but he couldn’t afford to show him his powers at that time.

"Oh..." Maison blinked upon hearing John’s response and grinned. "No worries. I just wanted to see your combat ability since Miss Azelis brought you here personally."

"Now we are even more curious about your Pets, John. Come on, show one," a wavy brunette-haired girl said with a friendly smile.

"Maison, do you know what Pets he has?"

Maison shrugged. "You all will find out sooner or later."

"I have one Silver-rank Pet and two Bronze-rank ones. I gotta evolve them to Silver-rank first," John smiled. "Otherwise, I won’t win the competition."

"Wait, you really want to win it?!"

"Oh John, that’s going to be tough."

"Yeah, just nine days aren’t enough to against the monstrous Silver-rank Tamers we have, especially that haughty bastard Rakin Lockham."

"Don’t forget Aurelia."

"But didn’t she mess up her Snow-Paw Reaper Leopard?"

"She did, but I met her today with a few others at her abode. She had a strange cocoon resembling some bits of Snow-Paw Leopard. That’s right, she clearly said her leopard is going to evolve."

"Holy....if it does, she might actually win against Rakin."

"Nah, that’s still tough."

John blinked. ’Wait, is that the girl I helped yesterday?’

’Oh well, whoever these guys are, I am going to take the spot, and that’s final.’ John clenched his fist. He knew he had to work in beast mode for nine days, and he was all in for it.

"Alright, everyone. I am going to train until we return to the sect. Not gonna waste time anymore," John said as he went to another corner and sat down cross-legged.

"Well, good luck."

"It’s going to be tough, but no harm in trying, haha."

Suddenly, a blond-haired boy in another group sneered, "Dude thinks if he trains all day, he will catch up and beat them."

"Humph, you’re already a loser with that mindset, Kevin."

"What did you say?!"

"Bite me."

Lesly saw the noise increasing and shook her head. "Alright, enough bickering. Sit down and meditate like John there."

"..."

John wasn’t training but actually sent his conciousness to Monster Paradise, which formed into an avatar resembling him since Chuthulos added the function.

Looking at the 53 filled-up cages and the clamor from the monsters imprisoned, John couldn’t help but weakly smile.

He had captured 53 Silver-rank Monsters, most of them being at Prime-stage.

But he couldn’t afford to release them yet.

"Hey, what da fuck is going on?!"

"Why can’t I hear my voice like this?! It’s so shit!"

"Hey, mate, release us please."

"Come on, handsome. You don’t trap a fellow wolf, especially a beauty like me, " A female Diamond-Back Dire Wolf said to Alfred, winking.

Alfred and others were looking at them, overwhelmed with all 53 of them clamoring.

John arrived there. "Chuthulos, you there?"

"Sup, brother John."

Chuthulos’ avatar appeared nearby, but he was shocked at all the noise.

"Woah, you’ve captured quite a lot of them in the time I was gone."

"Yeah, but I need to make them obedient and all of them also can’t live in such small habitats," John said with a dry chuckle. "I need a lot of Molding Essence."

"You got resources or not?" Chuthulos asked.

John waved his hand, transferring resources from the Storage space to here.

"Perfect," Chuthulos said as his big eye sparkled. "I got an idea. Turn these resources into seeds using Molding Essence and plant them. They will generate a lot of Molding Essence growing up alongside these 53 Monsters. Then you can make an awesome savanna with exotic habites!"

"Huh, you can do that?" John blinked. He wasn’t expecting he could turn the resources into seeds. That was hella awesome.

"Let’s fucking go," John grinned and willed almost all the resources to turn into seeds. He saved 7 Bronze-rank resources and 4 Silver-rank resources since they were the most potent, which would give him more Xhal Drops while a few of them were required for the evolution he wanted for Pymon and Rexion.

After turning the rest of the resources into seeds, John told Barkhide Beetle to plant them in the ground. The beetle liked the garden and was a protector of it, tending to it daily.

It was a gentle protector, and John also planned to evolve it despite not having contracted it.

"As for these monsters..." John muttered as he looked at the cages. "Alfred, and you all, go and play football and have fun."

Waving his hand, he repositioned the cages so they’d face the football ground.

"You all can watch."

"What football? Sounds stinky."

"Khahahaha. I am going to tear him into pieces when I come out."

"This cage ain’t budging at all, mate! You cannot come out!"

John shook his head and turned to Chuthulos. "I’ll be going now. Gotta focus on training."

"Have fun, brother John. I’ll also return and continue my work."

John did wonder what kind of work Chuthulos was doing, but he didn’t bother asking yet.

After Chuthulos left, John sat down under a tree and transferred two boxes from the Storage space to here.

Monster Geno Art selection box (low-tier)

Monster Geno Art selection box (High-tier)

’Let’s see what kind of stuff these boxes have,’ John rubbed his palms and grabbed the low-tier box before pressing the green [Open] button on it.

The box shone and opened like some sci-fi mechanism before displaying a hologram from it that listed three Monster Geno Arts.
