As Giyu's voice rang out and his eyes set in fierce determination, I had to stop myself from laughing. He actually thought he could "hold off" Shinobu while we escaped? The man truly didn't know who he was dealing with.
I cast a glance at Tanjiro, who had already gripped my hand and Nezuko's tightly, determined to follow Giyu's directive to run. He gave me a hopeful nod, as if this escape plan was our only option.
"Call her too!" Tanjiro urged, nodding toward Yuki. "We need to get out while Giyu-san holds the other Hashira off!"
This situation was becoming more amusing by the second. Just a few yards away, I noticed Shalltear and Lupusregina sitting back with buckets of popcorn, their eyes glued to the scene unfolding before them as though it were a stage play.
"Really, Tanjiro?" I sighed, slipping my hand out of his grip and gesturing for him to relax. "There's no need to run. Giyu may be serious, but... I'm afraid he's rather out of his depth."
Giyu, hearing this, gritted his teeth and took a defensive stance, his sword held at the ready. Shinobu remained calm but alert, her keen gaze shifting between us.
"Giyu, you don't understand," I said with a light tone, though my voice held a hint of challenge. "You're underestimating just how capable I am. And about who I really am."
"Oh, Giyu-san," Shinobu said with a sly smirk, "is this strange man a friend of yours? He's quite... odd, just like you."
Ignoring her comment, I decided the time had come for a proper introduction. "My name is Alexander Seductus Von Mortis. Lord of all bloodlines." I unfurled my jet-black wings, and my red eyes burned as I dropped the disguise. A faint, sinister aura radiated from me—a hint of what lurked beneath.
If I had to say so, it was a pretty cool introduction.
Tanjiro, however, looked uneasy. He clearly sensed something different about me now, a faint shift in my aura that likely didn't sit well with his heightened senses. And with my disguise gone, even he could pick up on the faint traces of negative karma in me—a subtle, unsettling scent to someone with a soul as pure as his.
I couldn't help but smirk. This was exactly the thrill I'd been looking for on this mountain—a showdown with two Hashira. But just as I settled in for the excitement, Giyu's voice cut through my thoughts.
"You're... like her, aren't you?" he said, his gaze shifting to Yuki.
But Shinobu didn't wait for him to process it further; she was already in motion. Swift as lightning, her sword flashed toward me in a precise, deadly strike.
Without flinching, I reached out and caught her blade in my bare hand. The impact buzzed against my palm, but I didn't so much as blink. Honestly, this was starting to become my favorite trick.
With a swift movement, I tossed her back, sending her colliding with a nearby tree. "Easy there," I said with a grin, almost amused by the ease of it. "You're acting rather hastily. If I didn't know better, I'd think you had something against me."
At that moment, Death's voice echoed faintly in my mind. "You know, you've just tossed your future wife into a tree."
I chuckled inwardly. "Don't worry," I replied to her silently. "I'm not even using half my strength."
Seeing Shinobu sprawled on the ground, Giyu didn't hesitate to lunge forward with his own attack. I deflected him easily, sidestepping his strikes, but his determination was unyielding. He fought with a resolve I could appreciate, yet I couldn't help but feel like he was holding something back. As his blade whirled past me, I sensed he was putting himself between Shinobu and me intentionally.
Tanjiro, standing nearby, watched the chaos unfold with wide eyes. He was clearly caught between the trust he felt for me and his respect for the two Hashira, his mind struggling to piece together who to trust in this rapidly escalating clash.
Meanwhile, Nezuko clung protectively to her brother's side, her eyes darting anxiously between the combatants. Unlike her brother, she seemed to sense just how dire this situation was.
In a moment of clarity, Giyu shot me a look that held more meaning than his blade could convey. "Take them and go," he muttered, low enough that only I could hear. His eyes flickered to Tanjiro and Nezuko, then to Shinobu, who was slowly getting back to her feet, her expression darkening as she steadied herself.
Giyu was trying to buy us time—an unexpected move from someone who only moments ago had been set on taking on demon.
A sly smile spread across my face. "You do know, Giyu," I said, voice laced with amusement, "that I could easily be a demon in disguise."
Without missing a beat, Giyu responded, his tone unwavering. "But you're not. You're... something more." He cast a quick glance to where Rui lay defeated. "You even killed a Lower Moon Demon. A true demon would never turn against Muzanette."
I chuckled. "Fair point. Besides, if I were just any demon, we wouldn't be having this conversation."
Giyu's serious gaze softened only slightly, but his hands stayed ready on his blade.
Then I continue, "You seem to mistake my actions. I am just buying time."
"Buying time for what." Guyu asked.
Just then a crows sound heard.
"For him." I said.
"Message! Message! Bring Tanjiro, Nezuko and an unknown man with red eyes to headquarters."
"Bring them! Bring them!"
