Playing With Other Supernaturals-Chapter 1400 The Return of the Thieving Group part 2
Chapter 1400 - 1400 The Return of the Thieving Group part 2
Kurenai, Airi, and Zen arrived on a nearby mountain that was overlooking a brightly illuminated facility full of activity, with numerous people running around equipped with military-grade arms.
Zen squinted his eyes and muttered, "How did those guys get those? Look! Some of them even have mass-produced Artificial Sacred Gears!"
"I'm going to give some people a call, but let's just leave it to them to handle this," Kurenai replied and also started writing an email. He's Azazel's de facto successor as a researcher, so he's also quite bothered by how some ordinary people got ahold of these highly protected resources. 'Are they perhaps bootlegs?'
They were carefully watching every movement happening in the area when all three of them suddenly froze, "Huh!? When did they..." Zen exclaimed when he realized that three people with black helmets and casual modern clothing were standing in the middle of the criminal organization's facility.
Zen turned around to see Kurenai and Airi's expressions, but they were also making the same serious expressions. "You guys felt nothing too?"
Kurenai shook his head while Airi just kept staring at the intruders that had started moving.
The people at the facility also noticed their existence and started firing in their general direction with vigor, ignoring that it might cause collateral damage.
The so-called 'mysterious thieving group,' however, just erected a barrier at their position and successfully blocked every single attack that flew in their direction, including those from the Artificial Sacred Gear users.
A few seconds later, two of them, a woman with a mature and curvy stature and another on the younger side, went out of the barrier in opposite directions. Since they were wearing helmets, no one had any idea what their faces or even hair looked like.
They walked out but soon started dashing towards people and went on a face-smashing spree, with no one being able to stop them. They soon reached their target buildings and disappeared inside, only to hear more screams from within.
Meanwhile, the man who was left behind just casually took out a lounge chair and a book to enjoy himself. Everyone kept bombarding him with attacks, but none of them could go through. Frustrated, they decided to ignore him and focus their manpower on the women who were wreaking havoc.
. . .
Kisuke was enjoying himself with the book he got when he felt some movement from a nearby mountain. 'Oh? Finally?'
Not long after, three people landed not far from him, and the one who had been left behind to closely watch Kisuke's movement immediately recognized them. "Kurenai Himejima, Airi Hyoudou, and Zen Quarta!? What are they doing here!?"
But the three of them just ignored him and continued staring at the helmet-wearing Kisuke.
Kisuke also didn't say anything and just continued flipping through his book. He didn't really need the mob's introduction of them since he had already gotten himself acquainted with notable figures from his three months of stay in this world, and these three would come up pretty often.
But as soon as one of them stepped forward, Kisuke also closed his book and looked towards the young man with blue hair, who had just summoned a blue and golden greatsword.
With a stride and a smile full of confidence, Zen Quarta pointed his sword towards Kisuke. "Masked man, what should I call you?"
Kisuke continued laying on his chair and just silently stared at the young man.
"What? Not willing to introduce yourself?"
Kisuke rubbed the chin of his helmet and replied with a distorted voice, "...I'm just thinking of a good fake name, but I can't think of anything."
Tiamat, who was passing by while dragging a beaten black and blue man, turned to them and said with an also distorted voice, "What about 'Death God'?"
Kisuke stared at her for a moment before saying, "Then I'm calling you 'Evil God.'"
"That's fair, I guess?" Tiamat then continued on her way towards Benihime's side. "What about her? We won't hear the end of it if she's the only one who doesn't have a codename."
With a grin under his helmet, Kisuke answered, "Of course! From now on, she'll be known as the 'Pretty Princess!'"
As soon as he said that, a beam of metal burst through the building where Benihime was and slammed into the barrier around Kisuke. "See? She likes it."
Tiamat also smiled under her helmet and started jogging. "I'll go meet Pretty Princess." On the way there, Tiamat continued dodging random things being thrown in her direction.
After watching her disappear, Kisuke turned back to the speechless trio. "There you have it! I'm Death God from the... er... Crimson Apocalypse Thieving Group! Whew, never thought I'd use that name again."
Kurenai, on the other hand, started following where Tiamat went. "I'll deal with them."
Airi's eyes didn't leave Kisuke, but she softly muttered, "Be careful and don't let your guard down."
Kurenai nodded and dashed, leaving only an afterimage behind.
Zen then pulled back his sword and set it low on his waist. "Pretty aggressive name you've chosen, but I guess that's fine. However, I can't agree with the use of 'crimson' and 'apocalypse.'"
"I'm Zen Quarta, and I'm here to arrest you." Draconic Aura exploded from Zen along with Holy Power. "You can always surrender, but I hope you can at least endure some hits."
Zen stepped forward with a speed comparable to the Yuuto Kiba that Kisuke knew, and within a split second, Kisuke hurriedly jumped away from his seat. The next moment, the barrier surrounding him was sliced open along with the chair he was using. "Not cool."
Zen saw that 'Death God' was stuck in midair and didn't let go of that chance. He swung his greatsword for the second time, releasing a sharp and massive wave of golden energy that's a mix of Draconic Aura and Holy Power.
Kisuke's eyes widened at how he was able to release such a huge attack casually, and he hurriedly covered his hands with dense Magic Power. He grabbed the edge of the wave and used its movement to propel himself away from it and towards the ground.
The wave traveled for a few seconds and sliced the tip of the mountain on its way before disappearing silently. Kisuke looked back at it, with the corners of his mouth twitching. 'Aren't they already on the same level as Issei's companions while still being younger? Just what the heck happened in this world?'
"Wow, you actually dodged that and didn't get your hands cindered? You're pretty good!" Zen genuinely praised Kisuke, but he didn't rest and continued his assault, this time in a much tighter manner, using his techniques to the fullest.
Airi sighed in relief. She was being careful because of the unknown stealth technique they displayed earlier and was worried that these three were beyond Zen. But as she watched them clash, she saw the man who called himself 'Death God' panic whenever Zen got too close for comfort and was able to gauge his level from that. 'He's pretty strong, but Zen should be able to handle him. Was that a variation of Senjutsu stealth technique? I should ask Kuroka kaa-san later.'
She then turned her attention to Kurenai and the women called 'Evil God' and 'Pretty Princess' because she was much more interested in them. Although Kurenai was overwhelming the two of them with his Holy-Lightning, he seemed to be having a hard time landing an effective hit. 'Those two were much more experienced than this guy.' freewёbnoνel.com
It was also at this moment that Airi's inexperience showed because as soon as she wrote off 'Death God' as someone Zen could handle, a silhouette flashed in front of her sight and crashed into the distant trees.
Shocked, Airi hurriedly turned her body, only to see Zen laying on the ground, struggling to keep his consciousness awake. "Zen!?"
"You're also pretty good, but you play around too much. You should only do that with someone weaker than you," 'Death God's' distorted voice resounded from behind her.
