Chapter 536 - The Origin of Alola's Legendary Pokemon

Terrance currently possesses a total of six Pokémon: Beautifly, Altaria, Arcanine, Castform, Gallade, and Vulpix.

He and Rotom Pokédex have jointly established a four-month training plan for these six Pokémon.

Since Rotom Pokédex can record information, it can naturally function as a "training calendar" as well. With Rotom Pokédex's assistance, Terrance no longer needs to manually keep records, saving him a great deal of effort. freewebnσvel.cøm

In other words, every day, Terrance can directly track his Pokémon's training progress and adjust their training direction accordingly.

...

"Ultra Beasts are creatures from the extradimensional Ultra Space. They possess immense power and are terrifying entities that could pose a threat to the humans and Pokémon of this world. There are many Ultra Beasts that remain uninvestigated, and for this world, which has never had Ultra Beasts before, they are extremely dangerous extraterrestrial species," Rotom Pokédex slowly explained.

During his time in Alola, Master Victor was researching Ultra Beasts, and it was through this medium that he unexpectedly gained many additional research directions.

Now, he has passed this research direction on to Terrance—specifically, the study of "totem aura."

In fact, from the information provided by Master Victor, there have already been numerous hypotheses regarding the origins of "totem aura." Moreover, aside from totem aura, some of the other conclusions drawn from this research are intriguing enough to be topics of discussion on their own.

"In Master Victor's data, Ultra Beasts possess a unique ability... This special ability can be understood in terms of this world's concept of Abilities."

Terrance directly regarded Ultra Beasts as Pokémon from another world. With this assumption, his research became much easier to conduct.

"The abilities of Ultra Beasts, the aura of Totem Pokémon, and the unique power of Z-Moves..."

These three elements share a certain special connection. This is the information Terrance currently has, and it's also the biggest breakthrough in uncovering how to obtain the "totem aura."

"The Ability of Ultra Beasts is very similar to the aura of Totem Pokémon. Although I have never seen an Ultra Beast before, it is evident that there must be a close connection between the two."

"Apart from the Alola region, no other regions—whether it be Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, or even Unova and Kalos—have ever produced Sparkling Stones or Z-Crystals. These two items are exclusive to Alola, and that fact is undisputed."

"Similarly, totem aura, this mysterious aura, has no precedent in other regions. It is also exclusive to certain Pokémon in Alola."

"As for Ultra Beasts, there have only been recorded sightings in the Alola region."

All the strange phenomena seemed to originate from Alola. Though Alola was just a small region made up of several islands, it was shrouded in mystery. During their investigation, Terrance and Rotom Pokédex discovered an interesting piece of history.

Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma—these three Legendary Pokémon of the Alola region—once fought against the island guardian deities in ancient times. The battle caused massive destruction, and the people of Alola at the time recorded it as "divine punishment," passing the story down through generations.

Since ancient times, Solgaleo had been revered in Alola as the emissary of the sun. The ancients, in their reverence and fear, called it the "Beast That Devours the Sun." It contains immense energy within its body, and can radiate light while running, its expansive mane stretching out like the sun. This information was recorded in an aged, yellowed book and is now part of Rotom Pokédex's database.

Lunala, on the other hand, was the opposite. Since ancient times, it had been worshiped as the emissary of the moon. The ancients called it the "Beast That Calls the Moon" with deep reverence. Its outstretched wings can absorb surrounding light, creating a crescent moon-like glow that people worshiped. Its form resembled a beautiful night sky.

As for Necrozma, compared to Solgaleo and Lunala, which had been highly active in Alola's ancient past, its appearances were far rarer, and the records left behind were extremely scarce.

However, there was no denying that the descriptions of these three Pokémon, based on the records, were in no way inferior to the Ancient Pokémon recorded in other regions.

In terms of mystery, they were just as enigmatic.

What Terrance found particularly interesting was that the records describing the battle between these three Pokémon and the Alola's island guardian deities predated the legends in which they were revered as Legendary Pokémon.

"Rotom Pokédex, in Alola's various legends, or more precisely in confirmed records, how many times has an Ultra Wormhole appeared?"

"Searching, Roto... Searching for data, Roto..."

"Search complete. The number of times it has been observed by humans: 4. The number of suspected occurrences: 25."

"What about the time span?"

"...Unknown."

Master Victor speculated that Alola's three Legendary Pokémon were extraterrestrial creatures, and to Terrance, this possibility seemed quite high.

Their battle with the Alola's guardian deities was one thing, but the guardian deities themselves were the earliest known Pokémon in Alola's recorded history and had been recognized by humans since ancient times.

As for the other three, it was as if they had suddenly appeared during a certain period. It was only after their battle with the guardian deities that they gradually entered the awareness of Alola's residents.

"If Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma—these three Legendary Pokémon of the Alola region—are Ultra Beasts..." Terrance murmured thoughtfully.

Ultra Beasts had appeared in Alola and had been studied. When they first arrived, they carried something similar to the special aura found on Totem Pokémon. Because of this, most researchers in Alola believed that Totem Pokémon were simply Pokémon that had coincidentally come into contact with an Ultra Wormhole.

However, recent studies revealed that the aura surrounding Ultra Beasts seemed to gradually fade over time...

Yet, the aura on Totem Pokémon had miraculously remained intact.

Because of this, the previous hypothesis was soon overturned.

"If we assume that Solgaleo and Lunala are Ultra Beasts, then the reason they no longer have the special aura seen on Ultra Beasts could be that they have existed in this world for too long. Their aura may have completely dissipated over time, which is why later generations assumed they were native Pokémon of this world."

"It's quite clear that the aura on Ultra Beasts originates from Ultra Space. Without a continuous energy source, this aura eventually disappears."

A continuous energy source?

Suddenly, connecting all the known information and hypotheses, Terrance was struck by a bold guess.

"It's time to visit Mr. Hala. If all goes well, this research might finally see some real progress."
