Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 190: Finding Qiqi, And The Ritual?
Chapter 190: Finding Qiqi, And The Ritual?
As reluctant as she was to jump into the sewers, Linlin did so anyway.
Rael chuckled at the sight and followed after her, holding his nose to avoid the awful smell.
But damn… this is really—
[I’m baaaaack! You idiot contractor!]
Rael tilted his head. Burger? So it takes a week for you to come back… interesting…
[B-Burger? My name is Astaroth,] Burger replied. [I am the Spirit King of Soulfire! How dare you treat me like some fast food menu item!?]
You know about fast food…? Rael asked, his eyes widening. Wait a second. Do you know about my previous world?
[Hmph. Of course not,] Burger said flatly. [I’ve been to the other continents in this land. They are technologically advanced, and their food is very delicious too. My favorite is the chicken nuggets with barbecue sauc—Wait! Why am I telling you this!?]
<Burger, Herald of Forgotten Kings, has tried to invade your mind!>
<Ding!>
Yeah, you can play around for a bit. I’ll come back to you soon. Rael sighed and turned his gaze away from the pop-ups. Instead, he sped up and walked beside Linlin.
“She’s fine. I can assure you that much,” Rael said. “She was kidnapped by the Evangelists. I’m sure you know about them. Most people do.”
“Yeah… I’m aware of their existence. One of our members is infiltrating that group as we speak,” Linlin announced, causing him to halt.
“They’re doing what now? Do you not realize how dangerous that is?” Rael asked in disbelief. “They need to undergo mental conditioning for absolute obedience. If they even have a smudge of their past selves left, then they get purged.”
Linlin turned around with a frown. “Do you notice how they can mimic the appearance of others? No one second-guesses that. But what if someone who’s not a part of the Evangelists has that same ability?”
“Oho… now that’s interesting…” Rael smirked. “You gave me an idea, by the way. Thanks.”
“…?” Linlin tilted her head. “No problem?”
With that, he opened the premium shop.

Yeah… Maybe I’ll hold off on that for the time being, Rael thought and tapped her on the shoulder.
“Also…” Rael trailed off. “You’re going the wrong way. Qiqi is in the other direction.”
Linlin froze, turning toward him with a blank look.
“And you couldn’t tell me that when I jumped down?”
“I didn’t want to ruin the moment…”
She sighed and walked past him, picking up her pace toward Qiqi.
He wanted to lighten the mood a little, but whether it worked or not, he wasn’t sure.
Nonetheless, the encounter earlier wasn’t as troublesome as he expected. And he did learn that there was someone gunning for the descendants of King Arthur of the Holy Kingdom.
But he could also be the one responsible for ordering the attack… Rael pondered. When I arrive at the summit, I’ll see, I guess.
He still had around 10 minutes left, and since they had picked up their pace, they finally arrived at where Qiqi was.
She was inside an isolated room that seemed invisible from the outside of the sewers. But he could feel her, and from the looks of things, so could Linlin.
Therefore, with a single punch, she shattered the wall, revealing a full-blown panic room.
There were two people lifelessly lying on the ground, and of course, Qiqi, who lay on a surprisingly comfortable bed.
For someone who’s supposed to be a target… she’s being treated pretty nicely?
“Qiqi!” Linlin yelled, running up to her little sister and grabbing her by the shoulders.
Linlin shook her, but no matter what she did, Qiqi wouldn’t wake up.
“W-Was she drugged?” Linlin mumbled. “No… what if…”
“Boo!” Qiqi jumped up, scaring the life out of Linlin, who fell to the ground, her feet trembling and face filled with horror.
Rael had noticed earlier that Qiqi was awake, but he obviously didn’t want to ruin the surprise.
“Hahaha! You really fell for it, huh?” Qiqi said with a laugh and stood up before approaching Linlin. “I’m fine. They only knocked me out.”
“I think you factory reset her,” Rael remarked, causing Qiqi to tilt her head.
“What’s a factory reset?”
“Nothing.” Rael shrugged it off. “Besides that, do you remember what happened?”
“Um.” Qiqi nodded slowly. “They scooped me off my feet and dragged me into the sewers. Since they were so strong, I couldn’t fight back. They told me something about a ritual, and—”
“Hold on…” Rael cut her off, a frown appearing on his face. “Did they inject you with anything?”
Qiqi checked her body all over and shook her head. “I don’t think so. Why?”
Okay… so not the identity erasure ritual, Rael noted. “How about blood? Did they make you drink their blood?”
“I don’t know… Sorry…” Qiqi replied, turning her gaze downward. “After they mentioned the rituals, I was knocked out. I can’t remember anything until a few minutes ago when they both dropped dead.”
“What did you dream about?” Rael went straight to the point. “Did you dream of a mirror? Did you see someone’s name in your dream? Did you call out that name?” frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
“N-No…” Qiqi trailed off, an embarrassed expression appearing on her face. “A-Actually, I dreamt of slaying a dragon with my pet cat. It was pretty fun while it lasted.”
Rael nodded as a slight smile tugged at his lips.
She lied.
He cleared his throat and approached Qiqi, leaning down to her eye level.
“Does the name Veyl’aruun ring a bell? Veylarun maybe? I forgot—”
Before he could finish his words, her eye color flickered white for a mere moment before returning to the previous green.
“Uh… No, I’ve never heard of that name before. Sorry if I’m not being very useful,” Qiqi replied, scratching her cheek with an innocent look.
Rael patted her head and stood up, a complex expression appearing on his face as he opened the premium shop.

He purchased it, and a red slime-like potion appeared in his hands.
Rael swirled it around, then turned to Qiqi with a warm smile.
“Qiqi, have you ever tried apple juice?”
