Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 207: Accidentally Finding a Medusa
Chapter 207: Accidentally Finding a Medusa
Rael was currently hard.
Not hard in the sense that he thought of Zafira, but hard because there was a medusa in front of him.
—Medusa (Leader Class Boss) [Level 684] [74.86B/74.86B]
She just so happened to appear when he finally dove underwater. He thought one of the underwater temples was there to give him some fresh air, but nope.
It was actually some sort of medusa trap, Rael mused, staring at his feet, which were slightly turned to stone.
The petrification barely worked in the first place, yet it had some effect because of the level gap. She was a couple hundred levels higher than he was, and she was technically a boss.
I haven’t fought in a little while. I wonder how I’ll hold up? Rael thought and flexed his leg muscles.
Immediately, the stone which had bound him shattered, surprising the medusa in front of him.
Her skin was completely green, and she had tiny snakes for hair.
Yet it was clear she wasn’t actually one of those big bad bosses he had faced in the past. This was just some kind of replica.
Even so…
“Sucks to be you.” Rael chuckled, and without wasting a single moment, took a step toward the medusa, appearing right in front of her.
She raised her arm, trying to send a barrage of snakes from her hand. But before she could do that, Rael delivered a fierce jab to her abdomen.
No damage number showed up since he had decided to disable it. After all, the numbers were so ridiculous by now that they barely made any sense.
Instead, he gauged her reaction as she merely groaned, clutching her abdomen for a moment. Then, she lashed out.
In an instant, the entire underground temple was covered in tiny snakes, all of whom had a portion of the Medusa’s mana.
The temple suddenly shook, and the moment it did, each of the snakes’ bodies began to glow.
Rael widened his eyes in surprise as, in the very next moment, the bitch exploded her own pets.
—BOOOOOOOOOOM
He brought his arms in front of himself to block the explosion and protect his hair. But despite all that, it seemed like the explosion wasn’t even meant for him.
Instead, it was meant for the temple.
A giant gash formed in its walls as water began pouring inside the underwater temple.
Rael didn’t panic as he held his breath and summoned his Violin Blade.
The Medusa seemed amused at his actions, and to his surprise, she was staring at him with a smile.
However, that smile didn’t last long. Rael tapped his rapier against the red string a dozen times and sent out several fierce Earth-element infused notes.
And unlike most of his attacks which dealt direct damage to the opponent, this one proceeded to literally patch up the holes that had formed due to the explosion.
Within moments, water stopped pouring into the temple, and he was met with the Medusa’s puzzled gaze.
“Didn’t expect that? Wow… sloppy,” Rael remarked, clicking his tongue as he took slow steps toward the Medusa.

“You know… you look like a human and act like a human. Can’t you talk?” Rael asked. “You seem to understand everything I’m saying.”
A moment of silence ensued, followed by the Medusa shaking her head.
She tried to open her mouth, but nothing came out.
From his limited knowledge of sound, he could tell that she was trying to push the words out of her throat, but it was almost as if something was blocking her from doing so.
So she’s a mute then?
The moment of peace didn’t last long, as he suddenly felt a bite on his foot.
Once he glanced down, he saw one of the little snakes nibbling on his skin.
<Canceled!>
Damn. Rael whistled and kicked the snake away before glancing back to the Medusa.
To his surprise, she was already right in front of him with one of her snakes outstretched, ready to bite into his neck.
But Rael decided it was time to stop playing games, so he tapped the red string with more force than ever.
In the very next instant, blood erupted beside him as the Medusa’s arm was suddenly sliced off and left floating in the air.
Then, Rael tapped the red string again, causing each of the snakes which acted as her hair to lose their heads.
And with the last slash, Rael proceeded to use his rapier instead.
He thrust it with incredible speed into the Medusa’s throat. Then, he turned the rapier and slashed one of her arteries, causing her green blood to hover in the air.
Rael moved so fast, the Medusa didn’t even have time to blink. And once his rapier finally left her throat, she had already fallen to the ground, her neck barely hanging on.
Her eyes were wide in shock as she stared at him from below, trying to utter some words.
However, since he didn’t feel so magnanimous, he leaned in, placing the sword against her throat, and then—
“W-Wait!”
“Motherfucker… so you can speak?” Rael’s brows furrowed, staring at the Medusa. “Any last words?”
“Wait.”
“I’m waiting.”
Her brows twitched. “I-I wish to form a truce.”
He tilted his head. “And why should I accept it? You just so happened to pop up while I was on my way down to rescue someone. I don’t exactly need you.”
Not that I wouldn’t mind a Medusa companion. That sounds a bit cool. Rael’s inner chuuni flared up.
She tried to speak again, but the blood from her torn throat caught up with her, halting her speech and causing her to slowly suffocate.
Noticing this, it seemed like Rael had no choice, so he reached into his Premium Shop and bought a simple healing potion.
He poured it over her throat, and in the very next moment, she spurted out all the blood in her throat like a sprinkler, causing it to fall right on top of Rael’s well-kept hair.
Bruh.
“T-Thank you, human…” Medusa muttered.
She slowly sat up and stared him straight in the eyes.
“I swear. My proposal is too good to pass up. Listen…”
Rael met her gaze and gulped.
Don’t be a marriage proposal…

A/N: Do you prefer there to be damage numbers and HP numbers? stuff like -4000! critical hit etc. Or no numbers at all since both damage and HP is scaling into the billions and trillions? Instead, the HP would be like durability of the body or something along those lines. Feedback is appreciated.
Also, a mini mistake in the last chapter’s ending. he was supposed to head toward an underwater city, not a temple of Aztera.
