Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 228: Grain of Sand
Chapter 228: Grain of Sand
Rael’s brows furrowed. "The what now?"
"I have decided your punishment," Anubis announced. "Instead of judging your sins, as I’m sure there are plenty, I will simply determine the Grade of your previous universe."
How exactly is this a punishment...? Rael thought, puzzled.
Burger grumbled. [Knowing an Outer’s universe allows another Outer to travel there. She can forcefully bring back some people you know, or even kill them. She can also corrupt its laws to an extent. Honestly... I think it’s easier to tell you what she can’t do instead.]
The moment Burger finished speaking, Anubis extended her hand.
"Take my hand, and I’ll carry out your punishment."
He stared at it for a few moments, then met her eyes. "And if I refuse?"
"Then I’ll send your soul to the core of the sun. I heard it gets pretty warm there for mortals."
"You sure are a sly bitch, aren’t you?" Rael remarked with a sigh, then halted. "By that, I mean I respect your creativity."
"Boy, I’ve heard every insult there is. If you’re going to try to insult me next time, use something original." Anubis giggled.
Without wasting another second, she reached out and grabbed his hand. Immediately, he felt a warm, tingly feeling spread through his veins, but it only lasted a few moments before it was all over.
<Ding!>
<Main Universe #5299 Detected!>
<Type: Mortal>
<Grade: 2>
<Threat Level: Extremely Low>
She let go of his hand, a frown appearing on her face.
"Why is your universe so underdeveloped?" Anubis asked. "At least it’s a mortal realm. Still, it’s only a Grade 2 universe... Do you not have gods?"
Rael shrugged, rubbing his wrist, which still slightly stung. "Look, woman, I don’t know. I didn’t have any powers like I do now. I was just a normal human."
"Oh... yeah, that makes sense then," Anubis replied with a nod. "The way the Grade of the universe works is that it combines the power of all individuals present. If yours is so low, that would mean not many had awakened. Oh well... it does seem like a solid universe where I can sleep without being interrupted."
With those words, she flicked her hands.
<Outer Sun God, Anubis has unlocked their domain!>
<Do you wish to leave? Yes/No>
Despite the option appearing, and Anubis absentmindedly walking away, he didn’t accept yet. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
Instead...
"Hey, how about working with me?" Rael asked. "I know you might be lazy, but why not be lazy in my world instead? There are delicious foods there, and all I’d ask of you is to be our guardian."
"Hah?" Anubis turned to face him, surprise written across her face. "You’re trying to hire me as your babysitter? I have better things to do such as—"
"Sleep?"
"No..." She pouted. "And even if I wanted to descend into lower worlds, I couldn’t. I’m too strong, and by going there, I’m only going to make the world pay attention to me more."
Rael tilted his head. "Hey, what’s the difference between the world and the universe? Don’t they both delete you?"
"Hmm? Well, yeah," Anubis replied plainly. "But if you survive the deletion by the world, then you won’t be able to enter that particular world, or I guess in your human standards, planet. And if you survive a universal deletion... yeah, I don’t think you will. But you get the idea."
[Budget encyclopedia,] Burger remarked.
Looks like I have two now, Rael replied with a chuckle, and before Burger could lash out, he ignored him.
"Is that it?" Rael asked.
Anubis nodded. "Pretty much. I just don’t want to be deleted by the world, because then I’d be on the universe’s radar. It’s some complicated stuff, I know."
Yeah... Rael sighed.
Causality existed, the multiverse existed, and being deleted got you, well, deleted. That was simple enough to understand.
But even so, him being an Outer, and someone with such a high negative karma no less, was something he still couldn’t fully explain.
Anyhow...
"So is there no other way for you to descend safely?"
"Not at the moment," Anubis replied. "I can probably summon an avatar, but it would take way too much time and energy. I’m currently weakened and also a bit lazy, so I won’t do it. But..."
Rael tilted his head. "But?"
"There’s a way you can provide tributes for me. Food, I mean," Anubis explained with a smirk. "In exchange, I could give you a blessing, maybe? A Lesser blessing this time."
"Oh? That works for me," Rael replied with a slight smile. "But what would it take to earn your highest level of blessing?"
"A Supreme blessing? Hmm... you’d probably have to be my kid or something," Anubis said flatly. "Though I’m a vir—I doubt I have any kids running around. So no one’s going to get it."
She was about to say virgin, wasn’t she?
[Yep.] Burger affirmed.
"I see... Well, what’s the highest blessing you could give to a human?" Rael asked one final time.
"A Greater blessing. The same one I gave to that old goose," Anubis replied, puffing her chest. "But for that, you’d need to provide me with the most delicious food in the universe."
Pizza.
[Agreed,] Burger added. [Wait... why are we agreeing so much lately? Are you trying to gain my favor? I’ll have you know, we spirits may be genderless, but I don’t swing that way.]
Fuck off. Rael rolled his eyes. I could ask for a blessing for myself, but it’d just go to waste... After all, I already know how I’m going to deal with Diederich. Besides... there’s someone I’ve wanted to give a gift to all this time.
"I accept," Rael said with a smile. "I’ll give you the most delicious food I know. And in exchange, I want you to bless someone."
Anubis’s brow rose. "Not you? Are you sure? If I bless someone who’s not an Outer and an actual resident of the universe, then that person’s causality is going to mirror mine, and they’ll probably be deleted."
"And is there any way to bypass that?" Rael asked with a serious look.
"Hmm... yes, but I’d need to give them a progressive blessing. It’s just a blessing where I don’t grant all the power at once, so the universe or the world won’t flag it," Anubis stated confidently. "And I give my word as the Sun God, Anubis, that what I said is the truth. If I lied, may my favorite bean bag chair be set on fire."
He could tell she wasn’t lying because of the Primordial Sight skill, so he decided to test it out.
"Zafira Sutekh. She’s my wife, I want you to bless her and give her some of your power."
"Sure." Anubis skipped over to him and placed her hand on his cheek, then closed her eyes.
Soon, she reopened them. "Oooh, she’s fighting someone. They seem pretty strong."
Anubis began pressing the air with a hum, then glanced back at him. "Okay... I selected progressive. Now, you said you wanted a Greater blessing, right?"
"Yep." Rael affirmed. "Or higher if you’re feeling mighty generous."
"Heh, no way," Anubis replied, dramatically extending her finger forward, causing a single grain of sand to rise up and enter her nose.
"Greater blessing it is—Achooo!"
Her finger shot higher, then abruptly stopped, her eyes widening and her cheeks reddening.
"I-I-I..." Anubis stammered, her hands trembling in disbelief.
"I-I misclicked..."
