Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 81: Little Chat, And Broken Bridge?
"So how are you feeling?" Rael asked, not even paying attention to the road.
After all, this car was similar to his hover bike as it had an autopilot function.
"It seems odd—it's almost like I'm floating above the ground," Seryn said, slight amusement in his voice. "But is this how you normally travel? It seems a bit too luxurious for such a trip."
Rael tilted his head. "Would you prefer we walked?"
To his surprise, Seryn nodded. "Walking is good for the body. This feels like something one would get addicted to."
"You're weird, man." Rael chuckled. "Anyways, what did you do before coming to this place?"
"I was training," Seryn replied flatly.
"No, I can gather that much, but like, what kind of stuff did you do aside from training? Rule a kingdom, have two dogs and a cat? I don't know," Rael added.
It was a silent car ride, and while Rael wasn't exactly an extrovert, he found the silence a bit awkward.
After all, the only thing Seryn had been doing since getting into the car was quietly humming some random hymn.
"I suppose you could call me a genius in the martial world," Seryn said matter-of-factly. "I was known for my unparalleled talent and fighting prowess, but one day, I suddenly appeared in this dreary land."
"A martial world... you mentioned Qi, right? So do you cultivate or something?" Rael asked.
"Cultivation is a part of my daily life, correct." Seryn nodded. "My fiancée and I practice dual cultivation. Sadly, I can't cultivate without her, as our dantians have merged into one long ago."
"So what happens if she... you know? Moves on?" Rael probed.
"She loves me as much as I love her. The only thing that could part us is death, and as we swore already, whenever one of us dies, the other will follow," Seryn replied in a serious tone. "We communicate with our shared Qi pools, and that's how we know we are safe."
"Love, eh?" Rael chuckled. "I'm happy for you. It must be amazing to have such a loving fiancée. I myself am already married, believe it or not."
"In my land, you only get married when a baby is on the way. Is it similar where you are from?" Seryn asked.
"You could say our marriage is a bit political. We haven't even shared a kiss yet," Rael replied, feeling slightly embarrassed.
"You do not live forever, and neither does she. Life is unpredictable, so my greatest advice to you is to simply make your move. The worst that can happen is she says no," Seryn said, a faint smile on his face.
"Damn..." Rael muttered. "You sound like an old man... are you?"
Seryn shook his head. "I am soon to turn 20. I am still young by my world's standards."
And yet you talk like a sage... Rael thought. Out of all the people, I didn't expect this guy to motivate me.
His initial plan was to have some dinner with Zafira, chat about some stuff, and get to know her better.
That would still be his plan, however, there was no reason not to make a move.
"Oh right, Seryn." Rael facepalmed. "I forgot to introduce myself earlier, didn't I? You can call me Rael."
"I see. It is a pleasure to formally meet you, Rael." Seryn nodded before suddenly raising his hand and pointing out to the other side of the windshield.
"I believe we are about to plunge to our deaths."
"Huh?" Rael turned around, and the moment he did, his eyes widened as he began aggressively tapping on the dashboard.
<Automatically using: Temporal Drift Mode!>
<Rewinding the car's time by 5 seconds!>
"Fucking hell," Rael exclaimed, taking a deep breath.
He hadn't been paying much attention, but by now, he had made it through the mountain range and arrived in the inner region where the massive lake was.
However, there was one thing his GPS wasn't ready for, and that was the missing bridge.
According to the map, at the very edge of the lake, there should have been a wooden bridge connecting both sides.
But as he stared out through the windshield, the only thing he could see was a massive cliff—as well as a few logs to the side.

Basically, whoever came through here messed it up.
Odds were, it was the black serpent.
Hmm... I definitely can't build a bridge now, that would cost too much money... I'm already bleeding money as is, Rael thought with a sigh, turning to Seryn.
"You got any ideas on how we could get to the other side?"
"Not quite. I believe we should head back... on second thought, we have guests," Seryn said before crudely opening the car's door and stepping outside.
I swear if this guy scratches my car, I'm buying another Ass Destroyer.
Nonetheless, he stepped out of the car, and the moment he did, he understood what Seryn was talking about.
There weren't any monsters, but instead, there were five masked individuals standing near the ledge where the bridge was supposed to be.
Rael didn't panic as he simply pulled out his Violin Blade, ready to attack them at any moment.
But just in case, he took Sweepus Prime out of the car before trying something a bit different.
Come on... get inside the inventory—
<Crystallite Summon Storage Unlocked!>
<Stored Summons: 0>
Oh shit? Rael's brow rose as he brought his hand down on top of Sweepus Prime's head, and soon...
<Sweepus Prime (Rare) has entered the Crystallite Summon Storage!>
<Stored Summons: 0 → 1>
Nice. Rael hummed in excitement and, just in case, tried to do the same with his car.
And to his surprise, it immediately vanished before reappearing inside his inventory.
"Pfftt... hahaha," Rael couldn't help but laugh, earning a weird look from Seryn.
"You seem to have been infected. Is your brain okay?" Seryn asked, feigning worry.
Rael rolled his eyes as he walked past Seryn and approached the five people beside the ledge.
"Since you didn't attack us straight up, is there something we can help you with?" Rael asked kindly.
However, from what little he could see of their eyes, they seemed to be staring at him with scorn.
And of course—he soon found out why.
"Were you the ones responsible for waking up The Beast?"
