Rebirth: I Am Not the Movie Queen This Time-Chapter 125: Scheming
Chapter 125: Chapter 125: Scheming
What’s going on here?
Wan Chu’er looked at the raging An Zihao in front of her, and suddenly felt like laughing, the corners of her mouth curling slightly.
That smile was caught by An Zihao, making him even more furious as he yelled:
"Don’t think that just because you’re a girl, I wouldn’t dare to hit you!"
Wan Chu’er: "..."
She actually really wanted to have a fight, should she provoke An Zihao a bit more?
An Zihao was extremely infuriated, growing even more annoyed by Wan Chu’er in front of him, and finally clenched his fist, warning:
"Stay away from Mai Qiqi from now on, don’t come within a meter of her."
Wan Chu’er smirked, "You like Mai Qiqi? No, should I say you have a crush on Mai Qiqi?"
An Zihao choked up, unable to speak, and after a moment, he said fiercely, "What, is that not allowed?"
Wan Chu’er raised her hands in a ’suit yourself’ gesture, then mischievously said:
"Mai Qiqi probably doesn’t like you, right?"
An Zihao glared at her: "What’s it to you!"
"If proximity is an advantage, just think, Mai Qiqi and I are in the same dorm, what if..." Wan Chu’er said slowly.
"How dare you!"
Wan Chu’er interrupted him, not letting him continue his threats:
"How about this, I’ll give you a chance, two weeks, I’ll give you two weeks, and if within that period, Mai Qiqi still doesn’t accept you, then you should just disappear and not hinder her pursuit of happiness.
If she accepts you, I’ll wish you two grow old together."
"These two weeks, I’ll stay a meter away from Mai Qiqi, and if after two weeks, it’ll be fair competition, because Mai Qiqi is so great, and there are others who like her besides you and me."
An Zihao glared at Wan Chu’er, silent for a long moment, but Wan Chu’er stood her ground, also watching him.
"Fine, you’d better keep your word!" An Zihao eventually said forcefully, then added: "For these two weeks, you’re not allowed to stay in the same room as Qiqi in the dormitory."
Wan Chu’er raised her eyebrows, readily saying, "No problem."
Watching An Zihao turn and leave like a gust of wind, Wan Chu’er couldn’t help but laugh.
After Wan Chu’er and Mai Qiqi left the dormitory, Ma Tianjiao snarled at her mother, "Mom, look at that bitch..."
Mrs. Ma raised her hand to stop her, glanced at Lin Yufei next to her, and gave her daughter a look.
She picked up a bag of snacks and handed them to Lin Yufei, smiling, "Little Lin, please get along well with our Jiaojiao from now on."
Lin Yufei, not refusing the offer, also smiled, "Sure, Ma Tianjiao, let’s get along well in the future."
Ma Tianjiao looked at her disdainfully, Lin Yufei glared back, then unceremoniously tore open the bag and started picking out snacks.
Ma Tianjiao’s mother smiled, "Jiaojiao and I will go first." Then she pulled her daughter out of the dormitory.
It’s different when there is an outsider in the dorm; there are some things a mother and daughter shouldn’t say.
Out of the dormitory, Ma Tianjiao was displeased, "Mom, why did you give Lin Yufei snacks? Lin Yufei is a petty person, always quarreling with me."
Mrs. Ma poked her daughter somewhat frustratedly and hurried her away from the dorm building, finding a secluded corner outside to speak:
"Do you want to make enemies with everyone in the dorm? You need to distinguish who are your enemies and who you can rally.
Chairman Mao once said, ’unite all the forces that can be united.’"
"I’ve come to see clearly, that Wan Chu’er in your dorm is the worst of them, the other two are okay. From now on, you should stick with the other two, and isolate that Wan one."
Ma Tianjiao pouted, feeling she was the one being isolated. Her eyes shifted as she said:
"Mom, you saw how arrogant Wan Chu’er is. That time, I just took her Jade Pendant, and she threw me to the ground. If it weren’t for the teacher, she would have almost hit me."
Mrs. Ma’s face turned ashen, signaling her daughter to continue.
"Can you think of a way to teach Wan Chu’er a lesson? Did you hear how nasty her words were just now? It was almost as if she was pointing at our noses, cursing us."
Mrs. Ma darkly added, "What do you mean ’almost’? She did curse right in our faces. That orphan, coming from such a remote place in S province, dares to act like this. If we don’t teach her a lesson, I won’t be able to let this go. Don’t worry, I’ll find someone to deal with her after a while."
It has to be said, like father like son, like mother like daughter, that old saying still holds so much truth.
These two, mother and daughter, thought and acted so similarly, though Mrs. Ma was slightly more cunning.
Upon hearing her mother’s agreement, Ma Tianjiao was elated, "Mom, what are you waiting for? You should teach her a lesson quickly."
"Why the rush?" Mrs. Ma chided her daughter, saying, "We just had a little conflict with her. If something happens to her right away, suspicion might fall on us."
Ma Tianjiao, unconcerned, argued, "She has no parents, nobody cares about her. Even if something happens, who would care about her? Even if they suspect us, we just need to deny it."
Mrs. Ma shook her head, "Listen to me, don’t be hasty. This is Beijing, not our city. We must be completely sure."
Seeing her mother’s firm stance, Ma Tianjiao reluctantly nodded and worriedly advised, "Make sure the person you find is capable; Wan Chu’er knows Martial Arts."
"Rest assured."
Wan Chu’er, unaware she was being targeted by Mrs. Ma, went to the counselor after making that bet with An Zihao.
After picking up the semester’s schedule, Wan Chu’er headed back to her dorm, grabbed her bag, and went straight home.
For the next two weeks, she planned to commute from home.
Seeing Wan Chu’er leaving, Mai Qiqi didn’t say much. She was still pondering the recent events and thought it better to keep some distance from Wan Chu’er for now.
From then on, Wan Chu’er started a routine: classes, cafeteria, back home. She went nowhere else, to avoid accidentally encountering Jiang Kechu.
After observing for a couple of days, An Zihao was relieved to see that Wan Chu’er did exactly as she said, keeping a distance of at least a meter from Mai Qiqi and not returning to the dorm. At the same time, he started to get restless.
He and Mai Qiqi were from the same high school, An Zihao being a grade above. After seeing Mai Qiqi twice in his second year, he fell for the charming and straightforward Mai Qiqi.
He worked his way into becoming friends with Mai Qiqi, and during one of her birthdays, he confessed his feelings to her.
But Mai Qiqi rejected him. She told him she was already in love with someone else and planned to focus on her studies to get into the first university, not intending to date in high school.
For Mai Qiqi, An Zihao studied hard and got admitted to the first university first, thinking of waiting for Mai Qiqi there.
He had been guarding Mai Qiqi for so long, not noticing any other men around her, but now Wan Chu’er, a girl, almost snatched her away from him. How could he not feel anxious and upset?
That evening, An Zihao found an excuse to call Mai Qiqi out.
Ever since she was kissed by Wan Chu’er, Mai Qiqi had been feeling uncomfortable, constantly thinking it strange that a girl had kissed her, and she hadn’t gotten angry; instead, her heart had even raced at the moment.
All these thoughts left her restless, afraid she might actually start liking a girl.
So when An Zihao called, she quickly agreed.
The two found a secluded and quiet spot, each lost in their thoughts.
After a while, they both gathered their courage, planning to speak their minds.
"Qiqi, actually I..."
"An Zihao, could you kiss me?"
Mai Qiqi spoke quickly, her head lowered as she blurted out her words first.
An Zihao’s ensuing words halted abruptly, the man stunned, hardly believing what he had just heard.
