Reborn as a Devouring Dragon with a System-Chapter 130: The First Five-Element Dragon
Chapter 130: The First Five-Element Dragon
After Drakion had taken what he needed, they both dashed from the old man’s shop, fearing he might go back on his word. Wasting no time, they hurried back to the inn.
Upon entering their designated room, they realized Mia had not yet returned. Drakion shook his head at this, knowing she was still out, likely lost in her shopping spree.
"That was a nice job, Kaidros," Drakion said as he turned to him. It had been a flawless act they had pulled off.
"Thanks, Master," Kaidros nodded, feeling a wave of relief that the Dragon Emperor was satisfied.
Drakion drew out the blood crystal, holding it in his palm as he examined its eerie glow—but this, he knew, would have to wait until they returned to the Dragon Palace.
He instructed Kaidros to bring the horn. As Kaidros presented it, Drakion examined the dragon horn, while Elemarion stared at it with an intense gaze.
Ding!
[It’s advisable that the Host allow Elemarion to drop his blood on the horn~ (≧▽≦)]
Hearing this, Drakion didn’t hesitate. He handed the horn to Elemarion.
"Drip your blood on it."
Elemarion nodded, eyes never leaving the horn.
Ding!
[I advise Host to construct a barrier around the inn.]
That was when it struck Drakion—they weren’t at the palace, and anything could happen. The risk of exposure was too great.
He halted Elemarion, and together they formed a barrier around the room. Only when it was complete did Drakion motion for him to proceed.
Elemarion gave a firm nod, then extended his finger. The moment his blood hit the horn, the atmosphere shifted violently.
The once-ordinary horn exploded with radiant, blinding five-colored light. A colossal, overwhelming pressure descended upon the room.
It was crushing.
Ski crumbled under the weight of it, Kaidros not far behind. Even though Drakion and Elemarion didn’t suffer as much, Drakion could still sense just how terrifying the pressure was.
Without warning, the Dragonoid Summoning Card for Quin activated, and Quin materialized. His face contorted in disbelief, but soon after, pure, unrestrained joy flashed across his eyes.
Quin saw the barrier Drakion and the others had set—but he also knew it wouldn’t contain what was about to emerge. Without hesitation, he raised his hand and conjured a second barrier, far stronger than the first.
ROAR!
A draconic roar erupted in the room. It was ancient—primordial—echoing like the cry of a creature born alongside the world itself. Even Drakion trembled from the sound, let alone the others.
"Who dares awaken me?"
A voice thundered, draconic and commanding. Drakion’s mind spun with dizziness, while Kaidros and Ski clutched their heads, writhing from the mental assault of that voice reverberating through their consciousness.
Before Drakion could recover, the horn vanished—and standing before him was a dragon.
A dragon of legends.
Its five-colored scales were deep and ominous, and within each scale, the Five Elements swirled—harmonizing and clashing all at once. The dragon’s eyes were far from mortal; ancient and knowing, they pierced into Drakion’s soul. Staring into those eyes, Drakion felt as though he would dissolve—becoming one with fire, water, earth, wind, and lightning. Terror flowed from those eyes like an ancient curse.
The dragon’s horns radiated like the very core of the world, and its tail resembled the pillar holding the world together.
"Master."
The word shattered Drakion’s trance. He turned toward the voice and saw that it was Quin who had spoken.
Stunned. Disbelieving.
Shock gripped Drakion—Quin had just addressed this dragon as master.
And then, something clicked.
"Little Quin, you’re still alive... Oh? It seems you’ve been summoned from the past into the present," the Five-Colored Dragon scrutinized Quin as he spoke, his voice ancient and filled with layered depth.
Drakion, upon hearing this, felt his thoughts solidify—there was no doubt now. This was the First Five-Element Dragon.
The dragon turned to Elemarion, his piercing gaze softening. The overbearing, arrogant aura that once radiated from him gradually receded, replaced by a warmth—fatherly love flickered in his eyes. Deep care and affection surged within that gaze as he looked upon Elemarion.
Elemarion, meanwhile, stood frozen, confused. He felt something unfamiliar, yet comforting—a soothing calm that brushed his soul. A connection stirred between him and the dragon, ancient yet intimate.
"I failed you all," the Five-Element Dragon whispered with a sigh as he beheld Elemarion. His eyes shimmered with sorrow, and he exhaled again, heavier this time, burdened by regret.
"Since you were able to hatch, that means..." His gaze swept across Kaidros, Ski—still in his rat form—and Drakion. But in the end, his eyes settled on Drakion.
"It seems the Dragon Emperor has been born."
The dragon released a soft chuckle, eyes never leaving Drakion.
Drakion, hearing this, felt a wave of bewilderment crash into him. He never imagined one of the First Dragons would emerge from what seemed like an ordinary horn.
"Hmm, nice to meet you," Drakion responded with a casual smile.
The Five-Element Dragon stared at him for a long moment, then slowly shook his head.
"Such a fresh and innocent creature. Even though you’re a dragon... you lack the ferocity of one."
Drakion’s smile faded. The words struck him harder than expected. What did the dragon mean?
"Your killing intent... your aura... they’re weak. If not for something I see buried within you, I wouldn’t even know you were the Dragon Emperor. Before me, you appear like a sheep."
There was sorrow in the dragon’s tone—deep, disappointed sorrow.
"No pain... no suffering... You haven’t tasted what must shape you. And yet, you don’t have the luxury of time. Impending doom draws near, and you remain weak—your behavior still that of a child."
The Five-Element Dragon shook his head once more, his disappointment heavier than thunderclouds.
Drakion stood silent, confusion mounting within.
What was he supposed to do now...?
"Let me test you," the Five-Element Dragon suddenly smiled—a smile that felt more like a storm approaching.
And then—everything changed.
In an instant, the world around Drakion twisted. He was no longer in the inn.
He stood in the midst of a pool of blood—surrounded by skeletons piled like mountains.
The air was thick with the stench of death and gore, reeking of ancient battles and fallen empires.
Drakion gasped. The overwhelming bloodlust in the air forced itself into his lungs.
He dropped to his knees—vomiting violently.
And then, as suddenly as it began, he found himself back at the inn.
But his body wouldn’t stop trembling. The nausea remained—he kept vomiting uncontrollably, collapsing to the floor.
The others stood around him, confused, alarmed—except for Quin, whose expression was solemn.
"Too weak... in terms of willpower. That was just a percent of my aura."
The Five-Element Dragon’s voice was calm, yet filled with an ancient judgment.
A/N:
Well, due to unfolding circumstances, I’ll be shifting the MC’s personality in the next Chapters. Drakion will evolve—he will become cold-blooded, and perhaps... he may even seem evil.
So tell me, readers—do you like this change?
And also, WigglyMilkySack, I’m still waiting for you.
