Chapter 442 -442: The Little Secret Under the Table
Cameron Theodore looked at Abigail Green, then at Brandon Piers beside her, and involuntarily shook his head.
After a few sighs, Cameron suddenly felt a chill all over his body, as if someone was staring at him. He stiffly looked up and met Brandon’s amber eyes.
Although Brandon’s expression remained the same, still holding that soft and girly noble demeanor, Cameron’s years of experience made him sense a strong warning.
Cameron quickly offered a smile. “Second… Second Young Master, what is it?”
“Old Mr. Smith has taken three good apprentices at the Medical University. Shouldn’t Headmaster Theodore go and toast him?” Brandon asked coolly.
“Of course.” Cameron had just seen how Brandon and Old Mr. Smith had bickered earlier. Now, hearing him suddenly stand up for the old man, Cameron said this while quickly thinking. Then he realized the second young master was sitting next to him, with his assistant on Abigail Green’s other side, with the two of them in between.
After the earlier commotion by the two young ladies, they had moved to Old Mr. Smith’s side, leaving Abigail sitting there. If Cameron hadn’t checked the information earlier, he might not understand the second young master’s hint.
But now, he was probably the only one who knew the truth on the spot, so how could he be so foolish?
So Cameron stood up and called his assistant to toast Old Mr. Smith. Halfway there, he suddenly thought of something. “Ah, Abigail, why don’t you sit next to the second young master and attend to him if he needs anything?”
After saying this, Cameron casually went to surround Old Mr. Smith.
Abigail was dumbfounded by this sudden request. The man sitting in the chair exuded a lazy air. He did not look at her after hearing Cameron’s words but tapped the table with his long, well-defined fingers. Beside him was a dish of steamed hairy crabs.
The meaning was clear. Abigail couldn’t help but want to laugh, so she got up and sat next to Brandon Piers, politely asking, “Second Young Master, do you need help peeling the crab?”
“Yes.” The man nodded arrogantly.
Abigail took the crab and the restaurant-provided tools, sitting next to Brandon. She began to peel methodically. Her white, tender hands skillfully opened the crab, cut off the limbs, removed the gills, separated the crab roe and meat, and extracted the leg meat. The whole process flowed smoothly, as if she were dissecting the crab. After peeling one crab, the essence inside was completely extracted, while the shell remained intact.
Brandon raised an eyebrow. Earlier, he had felt bad for making his chubby little girl peel crabs for him. Now, he felt like he was watching a talent show, and nodded satisfactorily, eating elegantly.
Old Mr. Smith impatiently dismissed the clingy young ladies and sent away the talkative Cameron Theodore. Turning around, he saw his granddaughter sitting next to Brandon, obediently peeling crabs for him. Meanwhile, the man ate without any politeness. In an instant, Old Mr. Smith’s weathered face turned cloudy.
“Shameless! As a man, if you don’t peel crabs for the girl, you let her peel crabs for you and still call yourself a gentleman? No shame at all!” The old man scolded unceremoniously, feeling extremely sour inside. When did he ever teach his granddaughter to peel crabs for a man?
Besides, from childhood to adulthood, this girl had never peeled for him!
“Those shrimp are good too. Peel them.” Brandon had no intention of arguing with an old man nearing eighty and turned to Abigail with a gentle smile.
Abigail was momentarily bewitched, not noticing her almost exploding grandfather. She put on a new pair of gloves, took the large lobster, and began peeling it methodically. Her technique was even more skillful than with the crab, indicating she had handled a knife before, though not a kitchen knife but a surgical scalpel.
Brandon ate the crab and shrimp peeled by his chubby girl, feeling happy. He did not bother with the old man who was about to burst from anger.
Church Smith looked at the two collaborating perfectly and shouted angrily at Abigail, “I want to eat what you peel too!”

“No, she’s peeling for me now.” Brandon didn’t hesitate to reject for Abigail.
“You… you are my apprentice. You have to listen to me!” Church was almost dying of jealousy and said stubbornly.
Abigail, caught in the middle, looked helpless. Cameron Theodore hurried forward. “This… Old Mr. Smith, how about I get someone else to peel for you?”
With these words, he glanced at his assistant.
The headmaster’s assistant quickly sat beside the old man. “Old Mr. Smith, I’ll peel for you. I’ll do it.”
“Who wants you? Coarse man, can you peel as nicely as her? I want to eat what she peels.” He refused to believe that his own granddaughter would peel crabs and shrimps for a stinky man and not for him.
“Master, how about letting Sophie and me peel for you? We can make it look nice as well.” Lena Locke, sitting beside the old man, said with a smile.
“I want to eat what she peels!” The old man insisted.
“I’ll peel for you.” Mrs. Han stepped forward. She had no idea why Old Mr. Smith acted like a child in front of Abigail. Although others did not know the relationship between Brandon and Abigail, how could she not know? Insisting on competing with the young couple, he was becoming more unreasonable as he aged.
Church Smith looked at Mrs. Han with disdain. “Can you peel as well as she does?”
“I have peeled for you for over ten years.” Mrs. Han replied, looking at Lena and Sophie. “You two young ladies also eat. I’ll peel for Old Mr. Smith.”
After saying this, she didn’t wait for the old man to speak and sat down.
Lena and Sophie saw the previously domineering old man now looking aggrieved. They couldn’t stop laughing, exchanged glances, and sat beside him. “We’ll peel for you with Mrs. Han.”
Then, the three of them surrounded Old Mr. Smith, peeling crab, shrimp, and deboning fish for him.
Seeing this, the old man gave a haughty glance at Brandon and Abigail. “Hmph.”
Abigail looked at her grandpa’s appearance and almost laughed out loud. But in the next moment, she was shocked when the man beside her suddenly put a piece of crab meat into her mouth.
Abigail, completely unprepared for the man’s action, looked nervously at Lena and Sophie. Seeing they didn’t notice her, she then looked at Headmaster Theodore, finding him now sitting in her previous seat and instructing his assistant to peel shrimp for him. “…”
Only the old man noticed their subtle actions, huffing again in anger. However, everyone was used to this and didn’t pay much attention.
Abigail secretly breathed a sigh of relief but didn’t notice Cameron Theodore, after she withdrew her gaze, patting his chest quietly.
So close!
Not noticing any issues, Abigail discontentedly glared at the man, who then fed her another bite.
“You…”
Abigail wanted to say he should stop, fearing they might get discovered. But the man raised a finger to his lips, signaling her to be quiet, then fed her a piece of shrimp.
Mouth stuffed with shrimp, Abigail stared with wide eyes, eating as she listened to the man in a voice audible only to them both. “Don’t we look like we’re sneaking around?”
Abigail, “…”
