Before bed, Phoebe got a call from Shark, asking her to help out on a case. It had been a long time since she heard from the detective and even longer since she visited a crime scene.

When she arrived at the scene of the crime with Rekha, Shark was waiting for her. He was interviewing witnesses, frustrated because no one had clear answers to give.

This particular case involved a shooting with three fatalities. Two men from opposite gangs and an innocent old woman that had been crossing the road. It was in a downtown neighborhood, in one of those places where everyone's eyes and ears were closed.

Every witness Shark had interviewed had one answer, "I didn't see or hear anything."

"Is everyone in this damn neighborhood deaf and blind?" he roared to the skies. "Do you see this Phoebe? They are all deaf and blind." He jutted his finger out to the crowd behind the police tapes that was being held back by tired police officers.

"Hi," Phoebe replied.

Shark ran a hand through his hair, expressing his frustration. "Sorry, I have been up for thirty-six hours, my body is packed full of coffee and cigarettes. Congratulations on the pregnancy by the way." His eyes lowered to her stomach.

"Thank you, now let's begin. The old lady ghost looking confused over there must be the innocent victim." She touched his shoulder and asked, "Are you ready to interview a ghost?"

"I have missed it; my closing rate has gone down by fifty percent without you." he admitted. "When are you becoming a full-time cop?"

Phoebe stood on tip toes and touched his eyes, opening them up to the supernatural briefly.

"This is more like it, I always thought the ghost seeing glasses were ridiculous." He looked around for a certain loud mouthed teenage ghost. "Where is the annoying one?"

Connie popped out of the space faster than balloon being poked.

"Hello detective loser, I see you are lost as usual without us. You should quit and try something else. How does being a full-time clown sound? You have the face for it." she said with a smirk.

The two started to argue, Rekha and Phoebe ignored them. She found the answers he needed in fifteen minutes, helped the old lady ghost move one and returned home.

On the morning of the next day, Phoebe could barely contain her excitement. She was finally going to the Moldove founding academy, something she had longed to do for so long. But first, just like she had done the previous night, Phoebe decided to check on the bug to find out Ruth's location.

"So, tell me Zephyra." She began to speak as she tried to make a connection with the bug. "Where exactly is this school? Around Salt Lake I know that much at least according to the location spell that I did last time. I am sure that they are veiling it with powerful magic, but do we use a boat to get there or do we walk on water. I think the walking on water option is cool..."

Phoebe prattled on and on until the spirit finally cut in.

"If you want to find Ruth, then I suggest that you stop yapping and concentrate." It advised.

Rolling her eyes, Phoebe let out a loud scoff." I am not a beginner at this you know, I can multitask." She sighed and shifted her body into a more comfortable position. freeweɓnøvel.com

The Saxon spirit disagreed. "There is no multitasking when it comes to magic, you must be one with the elements to channel magic more accurately. Remember, powerful magic is cloaking the bug. I can tell one thing for sure, that viper is in Citrus. I sensed her last night."

Phoebe shifted again and sighed, somehow, she could not find that comfortable position that she needed in order to concentrate.

The spirit jutted its chin towards Phoebe's tummy. "Ask Star for help. She is only halfway formed but she is more powerful than you. It won't hurt us for her to try searching for Ruth." It threw in a suggestion.

Phoebe looked at her belly and called her baby She waited for the baby's voice, but it never came.

"She is probably sleeping. I guess that she only communicates when she wants to or when she is not busy forming body parts." She crawled to the sofa and laid on her back. "I am getting nothing from the bug, it is silent. Why did you not tell me that Star is the guardian, Zephyra? That is not information that you should be keeping from me." Phoebe asked, her gaze narrowing at the spirit.

The spirit floated towards her, it's face did a full reboot, surprise glitching it's features. "H-how did you know? My God did the baby tell you that already?" It asked and paused waiting for a response.

Nodding Phoebe confirmed it's suspicions. "Yes, she did, shortly after everyone suspected that I was the guardian." She clued it in.

The spirit exhaled through her teeth. "I was there and only disappeared because that was a conversation that I did not want to have especially with the guardians. Yes, Star is the guardian, I knew that the night that she was conceived. In fact, I knew before she was born that you and David would create the next guardian.

It was written in your fates, it was just that you were both unprotected in your last lives, and she was killed. Why do you think that I urged you and David to unite in intimacy as soon as you started dating? I was not willing to see a repeat of your past lives. The child is more important than anyone and anything else."

It broke off mid speech, pausing before continuing. "There is a book in the magic space library, in fact there has to be a replica of it at the school. It is called the never-ending book of prophecies. Cryptic prophecies are always randomly added to the pages magically, and one is about you and David. We should probably burn that page before someone figures it out." It explained in great detail.

Phoebe's lips parted but no sound came out, she now understood some of the Saxon spirit's actions. "But Zephyra, this is my child, and I do not want her to take part in this war! I want to hide her away because the moment these evil beings find out, they will hunt for her and either try to kill her or turn her evil." The words came from her trembling lips. Her overprotective motherly instincts kicking in.

"That is not for you to decide mother." Star spoke suddenly. "This was decided even before I was born, before you met my father. As for my own fate, no guardian has ever come out of the supernatural war alive. You should prepare yourself for the worst, just in case." She gave a nonchalant speech.

Something sharp stabbed Phoebe in the heart. "Well, you will be the first!" She growled out a guarantee like she had a definite way to change fate.

In a way to comfort her, the spirit embraced Phoebe. "That little blabbermouth just spills information without anyone asking." It condemned Star. "We will find a way, we always do but for now I propose that we let everyone continue to think that you are the guardian. Do not correct them that way we keep our baby guardian safe." It told Phoebe who was quick to agree.
