Reborn ghost seeing lady is pampered by her ex husband-Chapter 611: Maureen chooses Sean.
"I will take her home." Arrow said.
Evelyn--her royal highness demanded to be carried. With a sigh, Arrow did as she requested.
David had come over to see if Evelyn could be saved and he had seen the results he wanted so he also decided to leave.
"I will see you at the dinner later tonight at the tower." Phoebe reminded him as she walked him to the door.
Maureen let out a loud sigh. "About that dinner, count me out, I have a date with Sean." She announced, shocking the few in the bunch who believed that she had rekindled her romance with Alton.
"But what about Alton? You made dinner plans with him as well." Grandma Mayfair leaped up and asked, the question laced with quiet unease.
Rolling her eyes like it was not a big deal Maureen brushed a hand over her braid. "Mother as long as I am not married and capable of thinking for myself, I am free to date whoever I want. I accepted to have dinner with Alton only to apologize for the assumptions I made about him and how I treated him when I cut him off rudely, nothing more."
She pushed her mother out of the office while Phoebe made a call, requesting for Sabrina to come to her office.
When she put the phone down Phoebe said to Maureen. "You will regret it if you miss this dinner. You are going to miss the scandal of the century."
She knew her aunt would regret missing out on Ruth's take down which she had always been looking forward to. As Phoebe made her way to the shelf on the wall close to the door to grab a book, she imagined what face Ruth would make when she was unmasked in front of all the people that wanted her dead.
Would she regret ever coming back to Fog country? Would she regret ever returning and inserting herself in the founding families? Ophelia probably regretted that decision when she was dying.
"I know that you are planning something Phoebe Mayfair but what?" Maureen tried to block Phoebe's path unsuccessfully for with of a flicker of her wrist, Phoebe hurled her aunt aside with a gust of enchanted wind.
Maureen threw her hands in the air, chanting a spell to stay grounded while regaining balance in her legs. "Holy_! Since when have you gained so much power? Must be Star." She spoke swiftly, her tone doubtful.
"Nope, all me. I can uproot a tree or move a mountain if I wish aunt so, stay out of my way. " Phoebe jokingly warned. "If you want to know what I am up to then attend the dinner. Sean is going nowhere; trust me I saw the way he was drooling over you like that wolf drooled over little red riding hood." She coaxed in a sly voice.
Maureen snapped her fingers, her face lighting up like a bulb. "I will meet Sean after the dinner, if he cannot do it then we will have to just postpone it." The words easily came out of her mouth. "Or maybe we can just go straight to your apartment and play a game of adult little red riding hood and the badass biker wolf under the sheets."
Phoebe rolled her eyes. "Filter aunt....filter."
"Sean?" Sabrina re-echoed. "Who is that?" She asked.
David made a sound as he followed her into the office. His return was not expected as Phoebe assumed he had already left. "Sean is a great guy that works for me, he is clean by the way, you do not work for me unless you are. And he will like that red riding hood-wolf thing in bed." He winked at Maureen, sending her the information background that he had on Sean.
Maureen cackled and Phoebe once again rolled her eyes. "Stop encouraging her David, she is already a nuisance. And about Sean, your validation is not enough, I need to check his aura as well and also if he is a compatible match for aunt."
David gave her Sean's full name, date and time of birth and he got down to it, a few minutes later she confirmed him to be a great match. Even better than Alton considering that he had no dead ex issues. He did have a grandmother that he dotted on and a sister he spoiled. She was a widow with a daughter that he treated as his own.
Maureen hurled her fist skyward like a warning goddess claiming the heavens.
"You really like this guy, don't you?" Phoebe asked.
Maureen's nods came fast like a pendulum of excitement. "So much so that it was I that asked him out because he blushed and chickened out when he tried." She replied easily.
"You did what?" Grandma Mayfair fell through the door and almost fell down. It was Sabrina who saved her and when she was on her feet, she dramatically held the back of her neck like it hurt and could not support her head anymore. "How could you ask a man out on a date? That is absurd, he should have been the one to ask you. Now he will assume that you are one of those women that don't love themselves." She sat in the sofa with the assistance of David who had rushed to her side when she nearly fell.
"Mother you have got to stop eavesdropping when we are in Phoebe's office discussing business. FYI, this is not the eighteenth-century mother, and women can bow ask men on dates." She turned her eyes on someone else. "Sabrina how far have you gone with tapping into that light? We need you to stabilize your energy so that you can make the spell that will lead us to wherever my father is." Maureen intentionally changed the subject such that her mother can shift her focus to something else.
Sabrina's gaze shifted to Phoebe. "Honestly I have not made much progress. I cannot do much without Phoebe in close rage, remember that I need to tap into the energy of the crystals which are connected to her and only accessible when she is around." She informed them.
"I cannot be here all the time if I am being truthful, but Zephyra says that we can make a conduit amulet which will channel energy between us." Phoebe told them.
Zephyra placed a grimoire on the table, opening to the page on which the tethering spell was written. "We need two bracelets, both of your need to be wearing one." She instructed.
After Zephyra made the spell and created the conduit amulets, she gave one to Phoebe and another to Sabrina. "We should have done this sooner."
Sabrina twisted her hand as she stared at the glowing bracelet. "I feel the energy running through my veins, but I feel an even greater power that i have never felt before." She sat down in a corner, crossed her legs, shut her eyes and immediately tapped into the light within her soul. "I will get to work immediately." She excused herself.
"You are all welcome." Star twisted and stretched.
"Show off." Phoebe mumbled.
Star kicked her and she winced. One day--one day she would spank Star on the butt at least once as pay back for all this kicking.
