Chapter 119: Touch my people and you die

Ronan had never seen such a look on Ella’s face before.

Those eyes— seemed bloodthirsty.

Ronan was taken aback for a moment. But within a split second, her face returned to normal, making Ronan wonder if it was an illusion.

Ella lowered her lashes. It was not like she was clueless about this affair. Ronan’s words just confirmed her doubts.

She had gone to such an extent to save Ruby from taking the blame for this kidnapping matter precisely to save her from such consequences.

Now was not the time to lose calm. Soon, Ruby would step out of that toxic household.

"Ella..."

Ronan’s hesitant voice made Ella snap out of her daze.

"Erm... cough... Can I have Ruby’s contact?"

Ella paused for a moment as she watched the man transforming into a shrimp on the frying pan. Completely red.

He looked everywhere but her.

A glint flashed across her eyes and a small and beautiful smile curved up her lips, "Sure."

Not expecting her to be so agreeable, Ronan looked at her in astonishment.

How was the witch of the Eve Mansion so reasonable and kind today? Was he dreaming? He almost wanted to slap himself awake. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

After getting Ruby’s number from Ella, Ronan turned to leave.

But suddenly, Ella’s voice rang from behind, "If you want to approach her out of pity, don’t bother." A small pause and her voice chilled even further, "If you have dubious intentions towards her, then just be aware that I will destroy you even before you can get to her."

Ronan halted in his tracks, "You think you can do anything to me?"

"Try me, Knight. Touch my loved ones and you will see what I do to you. Even if I die, I will drag you to the depths of hell with me!"

Ronan paused.

Then he tilted his head to the side, looking at her from above his shoulder, "I don’t pity her and as far as I know, she doesn’t need it. As for my intentions... All I can say is that we have scores to settle so yes, I do have my intentions towards that woman but none of them are dubious. I mean no harm to her." His voice was unwavering, full of conviction.

Ella smiled at him sweetly, "We are good, then~" she paused and then gasped, "Aw, why so serious."

Ronan nearly tripped over.

"_" Hello, lady, is that your face or the skin of a chameleon? How can you change it so fast?!

Before Ronan left, he advised Ella and Adrian as well as the others in the mansion to spend more time with Riri, to uplift him and play with him.

And while doing so, he asked them to track his mood patterns, what cheered him in the slightest or what worsened his mood.

According to him, if they observed these little things, they would probably be able to get to the bottom of it.

And once they figured out the root cause of Riri’s troubled mood, things would become easier for them.

So, the rest of the evening, Ella stayed by Riri’s side and played with him.

Adrian had accompanied them for 5 minutes before he again retreated into the study, visibly occupied in back to back meetings.

Although Riri was still as listless, at the very least, he seemed slightly more cooperative than he was earlier that day.

After having his food, he did not engage with Ella much. But rather, he retreated into the exquisite white doghouse that was built for him in the living room.

Ella couldn’t understand what was causing Riri to behave in this manner.

She had never raised a pet before so despite all her braggings, she lacked experience. And she especially felt helpless, not knowing how to help Riri.

In the end, she chose not to invade his space. Instead, she got Bertha to get her some of her textbooks from her room.

Ella sat by the dog house and covered a few Chapters from her syllabus. When her waist started getting sore, she checked on Riri again and much to her relief, he was asleep.

Adrian did not come down for dinner as he was in the middle of meeting. So after getting a maid to bring dinner to him, Ella ate by herself.

Later, she saw that the rain had stopped so she went out for a walk in the garden.

But she had barely inhaled the fresh air before the phone in her hand rang, shattering the peace in the garden area.

Ella swiped the answer option and Esther’s face came into view.

"Sis, did you go out of the campus today? I thought I saw you but I couldn’t be sure in the bad weather..."

Esther’s words trailed off.

Ella massaged her neck gently. As her face tilted to the side, the towering Eve Mansion showed up on the phone camera.

Esther’s expressions fluctuated only for a brief moment, "Sis, did you go back to the Eve Mansion?"

Before Ella could say a word, Esther continued by herself, "But... Sis, you got the opportunity to step away from him after so long. Then, why would you go back there..."

When Ella remained silent, Esther’s eyes welled up with tears, "Are... Are you perhaps still angry about what I did?" Hesitatingly, she added, "Was Mr. King angry after Max visited you there...?"

Ella lowered her lashes, a deep pain reflecting on her face, "I am not angry. Rather, I blamed myself for causing you trouble in the public that day. But I don’t understand it now..."

Esther sat up on the bed and a concerned look appeared on her face, "Sis, what is it?"

"So you already know that Adrian would be angry then... Why did you convince Max to come here?" Ella’s asked softly but a trace of coldness seeped into her eyes.
