"Miss Yu," Rin stepped inside the place, followed by another lady who seemed to be in her late 20s.

"Miss Yu," the other lady greeted Ella.

Both of them consciously bowed to Adrian without addressing him, considering the presence of others.

"June, Penny, they are Rin and Shishi," Ella introduced both the duos to each other, "From now on, they will be assisting you with the work."

Ella had pondered over it for a long time. While June and Penny seemed like professionals, they lacked experience in this sort of work.

They did not know luxury products as closely and these products were not brand new even though people still wanted them. Considering that they have been out of trend, it would be tricky to quote the golden price.

For this, Ella needed a professional. Shishi was one of the staff members who had dressed her up before in the cloakroom of Eve Mansion. Considering the lavishness of that place, Ella did not doubt Shishi’s competence in handling this job.

As for Rin, although she was young, she was highly efficient in what she did, like her mother, Bertha.

Although she had them in mind, she was not sure how to approach Adrian regarding this matter.

Unexpectedly, he agreed to let them help her without hesitation.

Throughout the day, Ella guided the four people through her vision in the master bedroom. While she busied herself, she forgot the presence of a certain devil kind sitting outside.

Adrian was sitting in the exact spot she had seen him earlier. But the man had a laptop in front of him and by his side, there was a pile of files.

Sensing her presence, the man lifted his head and closed the laptop.

Ella approached him, "You have a lot of work, don’t you?"

"Not much," Adrian replied, grabbing her hand and pulling her onto his lap.

Ella was momentarily startled by the abrupt movement. After a few moments, she composed herself and glanced at the files that reached her forehead, "How is this not much?"

Looking around, Ella spotted Ji Yan who was standing at a little distance with his head bowed.

Seeing the look of ’You are a liar, Secretary Ji’ on her face, Ji Yan nearly cried.

It’s not like he wanted to lie and tell her that the Second Master isn’t busy. His hands were also forced in this matter.

Ella rolled her eyes. Just as she was about to shift her body, a weight pressed upon her neck.

Ella stiffened, a trail of warmth shot down her body and goosebumps erupted on her skin as Adrian placed his chin on her neck.

His other hand wrapped around her waist, holding her in place, as he focused on the laptop ahead.

Though the man seemed focused on his work, Ella’s senses had magnified.

She could feel every breath he took and she could hear every beat of her heart.

Ella panicked inwardly. Damn, what’s happening?

Just as she was panicking, all the four ladies emerged from the room one by one.

And as they reached the door, their eyeballs nearly dropped on the floor.

Ella took the chance to slide out of Adrian’s embrace.

She could feel his piercing gaze on the back of her head and dark aura growing behind her.

But Ella ignored it and walked towards the girls to say her goodbye.

"Miss Yu, you can take your leave first. We are planning to stay here to familiarize ourselves with everything," Rin smiled.

Unlike a few months before where she was easily flustered, she seemed to have grown more calm and composed.

Before, Rin had acted as a spy for Esther out of fear but when Ella gave her a chance to get out of that situation, Rin seemed to have turned over a new leaf completely.

"Yes," June nodded politely.

"Alright, then," Ella did not force them to leave, "But it’s already late. So, all of you can stay here for the night."

"But..." June hesitated.

"No buts. Leave tomorrow morning. There are two guest bedrooms and here, I will leave the keys with you."

By the time they left the apartment, Ji Yan had gone ahead to the parking lot because he had to shift Adrian’s work materials.

So, it was only Adrian and Ella who were walking side by side on the pavement.

"Adrian, thank you for today," Ella stopped in her tracks.

When Adrian turned to her, he saw a sincere smile etched on her face.

As he looked at her in silence, Ella thought he was confused about what she was thanking him for so she spoke, "Thank you for letting Rin and Shishi help me here."

After sorting out the things with the four ladies, Ella felt much at ease. And she knew that without Adrian’s help, it would have been impossible.

Adrian looked at her for a fleeting moment before he turned around and continued walking.

Before Ella could think, her body moved on its own. She grabbed his hand.

Adrian halted in his tracks, feeling soft fingers wrapped around his own palm.

"Are you angry?" Ella mustered all her determination to ask him.

In fact, Ella lacked experience in things like relationships.

When she was together with Max, she thought she was pursuing him and putting efforts for him but in his eyes, that was just pestering. So, that couldn’t be counted.

And with Adrian, she had never pursued a genuine relationship. In her previous life, she had never stopped to think about what he was feeling.

All she cared about was staying away from him and finding new ways to take him down.

After her rebirth, Ella was still instinctively intimidated by his presence. She planned and plotted on how to deal with reactions but she had never cared for what he felt.

Probably, she had ever felt the need to do so. In her eyes, Adrian was a storm. When it arrived, one would know. His explosive temper and erratic mood swings did not need any guessing from anyone.

This... was the first time Ella did not know what to do or how to deal with him.

Adrian was acting as per usual but Ella could sense something was amiss.
