Bertha spun toward Rin. "Quickly! Tell Miss Yu everything. Don’t lie about anything..."

Rin cried even harder as she dropped to her knees, ’’It... It started a year ago...’’

Ella listened in silence, never interrupting.

Ella has been at the Eve Mansion for almost 3 years now and since then, Esther’s continuous visits to this place has never stopped.

It happened to be a coincidence that a year ago, Esther bumped into Rin on her way out of the mansion.

And she manipulated the girl into doing her bidding while staying in the mansion.

How? Esther asserted her dominance by making the girl believe that it would not be long before she replaced Ella and became the new mistress.

Back then, Ella’s antics had completely worsened and she angered Adrian every other day. One would think that the man would certainly divorce her and throw her out in no time.

In fact, in her previous life, Ella also thought that Adrian would kick her out eventually after being tired by her antics.

As a young girl, Rin also fell for it. And while she was still hesitant, Esther threatened her saying that she would fire both mother and daughter and get them stranded once she became the new mistress.

Eventually, Rin did her bidding and started informing her trivial things like when Adrian was at home and when he left or what Ella was doing and how things were between them, this and that.

And later on, Rin realized her mistakes when she saw that no matter what chaos Ella caused, Adrian never abandoned her.

Even when she burned his mansion, wrecked his car, and tampered with his classified files, Adrian would, at most, ground her on one hand and send over her favorite food or things to coax her on the other.

It was at this moment did Rin try to cut off contact with Esther. But Esther had kept records of all the information Rin had given her previously and she blackmailed her with that.

Since Rin had walked down that path, there was no backing out from it for her.

Now it all made sense why Esther had stormed into the mansion the morning after she and Adrian first slept together.

By now, Rin was sobbing into the floor. Her mother stood frozen, as if awaiting execution.

If faces had subtitles, then theirs would display—’What is going to happen when Second Master knows?’

Ella’s lips twitched.

With Ella’s injury, it was a bit inconvenient for her to stand up so she leaned forward and placed a hand upon Rin’s shoulder, ’’Get up... The floor is cold.’’

Rin looked up at the girl, her eyes wide as saucers. She looked like she had gone into shock.

’’Help her up,’’ Ella turned to Bertha.

Bertha immediately snapped out of her daze and pulled her daughter up by her arm, ’’Miss Yu, this... My daughter has committed a grave mistake. I have nothing to say to this...’’

As the head servant, how could Bertha not join the dots? As a person who always tolerated her younger sister, Ella was suddenly wary of Esther and now that young lady had turned her own daughter into a spy.

Although she had always felt that way, now it was confirmed that Miss Yu’s younger sister was all along a snake.

Just thinking of the events that transpired in the day and all that Ella went through, Bertha knew that this was unforgivable! The woman stepped forward...

’’Wait, don’t kneel!" Ella quickly said, inwardly speechless. Why were these people so fixated on kneeling? What was so good about it?

Not that she’d know. With her current body, she’d tip over before kneeling.

’’This matter will end here. Adrian would not know of it.’’

Hearing Ella’s words, the mother-daughter duo looked at her in disbelief.

’’Miss Yu...’’

Ella smiled, ’’Don’t just thank me yet. I am not doing it without motives.’’

Bertha shivered seeing the ruthless glint in the girl’s eyes even though her face remained smiling.

Suddenly, she clenched her fist and spoke up solemnly, ’’Other than harming Second Master or betraying him in any way, I am willing to do anything that Miss Yu asks...’’

’’I don’t need you to go to such extremes, Bertha. I just need Rin to continue what she had started,’’ Ella said calmly.

"M... Miss Yu?"

"I want Rin to keep spying—only this time, for me."

’’Ah?" Rin blinked, her face covered in tears and snot.

’’Continue relaying information to my little sister."

Now, this time it was both mother and daughter’s turn to be shocked.

Ella continued speaking as if she did not notice the changing colors on their faces, ’’Just a little addition. All that you tell her needs to be told to me too.’’

Bertha froze for a moment before she turned to her daughter who was standing there blankly, ’’Come, quickly thank Miss Yu.’’

The young girl stepped forward with small steps and moved to kneel again but Ella supported her by holding the girl’s hand.

The girl’s hand trembled and she retracted it like it was scorched by fire. ’’T-Thank you...’’ Suddenly, Rin couldn’t understand why everyone called Miss Yu an ugly fatty. In her eyes, she seemed so angelic.

Ella did not know if it was her illusion or not but she felt like the girl’s face was unusually red.

Hmm, did I scare her too much?

So, when she spoke, she softened her tone even more, ’’Don’t thank me. I did not do you any favour.’’

Rin stood there stunned. See, even her voice was angelic.

’’Leave, now. Stay in your room until I ask you to come out!"

After Bertha sent her away, she sincerely bowed to Ella. On the surface, it did not seem like a big thing but in reality, she did them a huge favor.

If the Second Master had come to know about this....
