Reborn: The Tyrant's Obsession-Chapter 36: Ella’s rebirth was just a dream?
Chapter 36: Ella’s rebirth was just a dream?
Ella laid on the bed with the phone in her hand as she watched the trail of gushy texts she sent to Adrian.
The man must be in the main mansion at this moment.
Thinking of what kind of face he might make when he saw her texts, she kicked her feet in the air and laughed.
In the previous life, you only saw my hatred and rebelliousness and you were able to tolerate that. Let’s see if you can take this cringiness.
Realizing that mask on her face had dried up, Ella put her phone aside and sat up on the bed.
She walked to the small mirror on the room wall and peeled off the sheet mask off her face before wrapping it around her neck.
Call her cheap but after seeing the number of zeroes on this sheet mask, there was no way she would throw it away in one use. Her entire body must shine in the nutrients of avocados, hmph!
Looking at her skin up so close, Ella was a little satisfied.
When she woke up, her skin was dry, dehydrated and the faint acne marks on it had grown prominent. But after almost a month of care, her skin looked almost like a boiled egg.
Or maybe it was the instant effect of the sheet mask.
’Ding’
The notifications immediately made her run to the bed.
It was a text from Adrian.
’Mm.’
He must be creeped out. Ella giggled, just imagining his face.
But then, the man continued typing.
’You are beautiful.’
’Alright.’
’I miss you too.’
’*3 red heart emojis*’
He replied to all her nonsensical messages individually.
Her heart skipped a beat.
She could not imagine that stony faced man typing out heart emojis in reply to her messages.
Did someone else type out the texts?
Nah, she could definitely hear him in these texts.
So, Adrian King was... actually into these?
This new discovery enlightened Ella a little more.
After spamming him with more emojis, she turned off the lights, leaving only the bedside lights on before she went to the bed.
Since she had taken a nap in the day, Ella did not expect herself to fall asleep easily.
But perhaps due to all the turbulence in her entire day, she dozed off as soon as she closed her eyes.

Ella did not know how long she slept before she was stirred awake by some noises.
’Hmm, is it class time already?’
She groaned and whined but eventually, she stretched her arms and opened her eyes.
Suddenly...
Her eyes shrunk at the sight of a place she never expected to see again.
The dark cell. The sound of squeaking mice. And the nibbling pain on her body.
Why was she back here again?
Ella gasped. Dream... It must be a dream...
Without wasting another moment, she pinched herself hard.
Yet nothing happened. Only a new pain was added to her existing pain.
Suddenly, the scene in front of her changed.
One second, she was in the dark cell where she could not see anything.
But in the next moment, the surroundings turned so bright that she was nearly blinded by it.
A... hospital?
Ella took a step forward but when she crossed a mirrored wall, she stopped.
In a daze, she touched her face that was covered in wrinkles, scars and weird marks. She was dressed in a loose hospital-like gown, the edges of which were stained with blood. Her feet were bare and the visible skin of her legs were covered in wounds that had blood and pus oozing out of them.
Her body was almost triple as fat as it was when she was 22. And her neck could barely be seen in the folds of her cheeks. But the thing that struck her heart and filled it with agony was her pair of eyes, dull, bleak and so full of despair.
Ella slowly retreated.
No, this was just a dream... She had been reborn. She was given another chance.
But suddenly, her own voice sounded in her mind—What makes you think that your rebirth is not the dream? Rebirth... Only delusional people like you dream of something absurd like that!
Ella gasped and ran away from the mirrored wall. But in her haste, she tripped and landed on the floor.
"No, the situation is not optimistic.’’
A controlled voice entered Ella’s ears.
This familiar voice... wasn’t it that scam doctor?
When she looked up, she spotted Ronan’s retreating back.
Where was he going? Why was she here in this hospital?
She supported her body with both her palms pressed against the floor. Crawling and staggering, she finally pushed herself to her feet.
With the support of the wall, she followed after Ronan with steady footsteps.
The man suddenly stopped in a particular hallway and then he disappeared into a room.
Ella looked up slowly.
Above the desolate room, the words ’emergency room’ floated in bold words.
"No... I don’t know... the situation is beyond control...’’
Ella’s head snapped in the direction of the voice.
At the end of the hallway, Ji Yan was pacing with a phone pressed to his ears. Tears rolled down the man’s eyes while he spoke.
Ella’s heart sank.
Ji Yan... seemed like any ordinary person but in truth, he was an impassive and indifferent man who would not be fazed easily.
Just what would make him cry like this?
She slowly turned to look in the direction of the emergency room and stepped closer to the glass area in the door.
’Knock knock knock’
Ella’s heart pounded in her ears as her eyes snapped open.
Her entire body was soaked in the cold sweat.
For a moment, her eyes were dazed as if she couldn’t differentiate between the past and present.
A hint of terror swirled in her blank gaze directed at the ceiling.
Gradually, her stiff body relaxed on the bed.
It was a nightmare... It was just a nightmare.
The sound of violent knocks persisted.
