Chapter 56 - 56- Just chilling

Mitchell and Tyler rushed through the snowy part of the mountain and arrived at a different spot. They were now in what seemed to be a normal place, like the one that Mitchell and Ange first saw when they came to the trial island.

"Oh, how pretty." Tyler said as she picked up a flower she saw next to dead cultivator who had already started to deacy. Mitchell wasted no efforts in taking his spatial ring which was still surprisingly on his body.

'The people who killed him must have been in a rush and left soon after. Not caring for his ring'. He said inwardly and looked towards Tyler who was busy smelling the flowers, not caring for the dead body of the cultivator.

They walked some distance and saw a female cultivator who had died as well but her body was in horrible shape after being abused before she died.

In the trial island, being a woman was very bad and if certain cultivators ganged up on you, you would suffer a lot before being killed.

'This woman must've suffered a lot of abuse before being discarded'.He looked at her dead body and the shredded clothes that still managed to cover a bit of her body. Her eyes were open and her face told of the terror and the pain she must've felt in the hands of the men.

He raised his hand and motioned towards the earth that opened up and swallowed the woman's corpse before covering her again. Like she was never there to begin with. He didn't really care about the woman but still gave her one last wish and buried her. He did not like the act that had been committed but what could he do about it.

He turned and saw Tyler looking at the place she was buried in disgust. He was not sure if she was disgusted by the woman herself or the act that had been committed before they gruesomely killed her.

Her face contorted for a second before becoming normal. 'What would have happened if it were Tyler that was in that position. He was sure she would still be alive because of her beautiful face but she would be carried around like a slave, ready to be used whenever they wanted to fulfill their carnal urges.

'Ugh, trash like this is exactly why I hate the human race at times. So treacherous that they could do this type of thing to their own species'. She looked at Mitchell and could not help but admire the small act of kindness he did for the woman. 'At least their all not the same'. She said inwardly when she looked at Mitchell.

Despite her looks, she was older than Mitchell but not by that much if you counted the years he used to sleep.

Beasts level of cultivation was different from humans but her power was still very strong and she could fight against ans kill others in Golden core realm. Even hold her own against people in the Nascent Soul realm if she went all out.

"Let's go". He said softly and they left the field of flowers and sped off into the distance. By now Four months out of the one year was gone and Mitchell and Tyler had gone up the mountain by at least 30 percent.

'Now am wishing Ange was here. We could start forming our team. I already have one person down.' With her it would make three people in their group and they could go on to find more people to help their cause.

He did not know how powerful Tyler was, but the fact that her mother sent her here meant she must be able to stand her ground against strong opponents.

Mitchell stopped and waited. He felt some vibrations in the ground. He turned towards Tyler and urged her to run. Immediately they left that location, a giant maw belonging to that of a large silkworm opened its mouth and swallowed the earth.

" Sh*t". Mitchell said and ran as fast as he could. Tyler followed behind him at an equal speed. She could not get why he was running away from such a beast whoses level of cultivation was not that high.

"Why are we running. Its still at the sixth stage of foundation building realm that you humans cultivate. You can easily beat it". She said with confusion in her eyes.

"You're right, I can beat it. But I can't beat a hundred of them". He said still not looking back with fear evident on his face.

Tyler was still confused at his behavior when several maws of equal size to the first worm appeared and devoured the earth beneath them, leaving large pit holes.

Her face paled a bit and she increased her speed and was running side by side with Mitchell. The fear was not showing on her face, but she was as wary if not more wary than Mitchell.

With her being a sacred beast, she could naturally sense other powerful beast around her and what she senses from the huge worms was a whole herd of huge silkworms with flesh as hard as the toughest rocks.

Their speed was great and they were catching up to them gradually. "Can we not fight them?". She asked but when Mitchell turned around and saw their great numbers, he shuddered and said. "Not unless you wanna die after killing a few". His voice was depressed.

"Have you encountered them before?". She asked when she saw his depressed expression.

"Yes, but the last time they were not even up to quarter of this number." He said but his speed did not slow down at all but instead increased.

"The only way to shake them is if we climb onto any rocks that they would not be able to climb unto." The land they were running on was currently sand and the worms got their names from the territory they patrolled. The 'Sand Worms'. As their name implies, they were very fast when travelling under the sand and their skin was so tough that normal weapons would not pierce easily along with the fact that they rolled in numbers . . . large numbers to boot.

Mitchell started sweating heavily. If they cold not find a piece if solid land in time, they would be eaten by the sand worms in no time.

"Look, there". Tyler pointed in a direction and Mitchell had to squeeze his eyes to see the stone constructs that lay far across.

'We must always be far from it'. He clenched his fist and continued run. Against this type of magical beast, he stood no chance and he would be overwhelmed. He was also sure about Tyler since she did not grow up in a hostile environment and he doubted she would be that strong to be able to take them out.

They ran at their full speed and when they had nearly reached it, the sand worms had nearly reached them as well. Mitchell softly grabbed Tyler's waist and threw her up. Because of his desperate situation, he had no time to enjoy the feeling of holding such a beautiful and very well proportioned woman before he boosted his physique to the max before jumping on top of the stones as well.

The maws of the sand worms snapped open and shut looking for them in the sand before turning away and leaving to find better prey.

Mitchell was panting as he lay down on the bare rock next to Tyler who was also panting but not as much as he was. "Thanks for the boost." She said and patted him on the chest.

The feeling of her soft hand on his chest made Mitchell feel the previous pain if letting such an opportunity go. He cursed inwardly but did not let it show and continued to rest while still alert for any more dangers that may be lurking.

"Let's stay here for the night. It's usually not safe at night and it would be hard finding better than where we are currently". While looking at the setting sun, he spoke calmly to Tyler who nodded. It was already her first day and yet she was already in danger. It was so much fun. And the fact that Mitchell seemed to care for her a lot made her feel fuzzy.

Mitchell did not really care for her, but he cared for the guardian that would be up his *ss if anything happened to her. That was motivation enough for him.
