Sitting upright on the bed, Jared couldn’t help but scan Lucy.

Kiara and Lucy didn’t even react; they were already used to Ria clinging to Jared every chance she got.

Once again, Jared caught a glimpse of Lucy’s maid outfit.

"Why did you make her wear that?" Those words spewed from his mouth.

Arguing with her would get him nowhere; if she wanted to tell him, she would have already. Ria can be quite talkative when she wants to be.

Thus, he changed his focus to another person.

"Kiara, it seems these two are down for the day. Mind telling me why we have Lucy wearing a maid’s outfit?"

Kiara, her back resting on the wall, didn’t seem as excited and lively as the rest.

Jared took a quick glance at Kiara; the somewhat jealous look on her face was so obvious that it became awkward.

"Towards the Watering hole, where the sun can’t meet and the water doesn’t reach, there is a cave there, a dungeon if you will. I want you to pick anyone from the village that you feel is strong enough and subdue the monsters there."

Kiara was a bit surprised, though she knew who he was talking about. Her confusion came from the fact he was asking her to do something like that.

"Lord Jared? The Cat people mean no harm, they just-"

"The cat people are growing every day. Did you forget? They took half of our water; even if they didn’t use force, they still didn’t ask. We could not beat them in a battle, so we let them be. Not anymore. As I said, subdue them; you don’t have to resort to killing."

Kiara lowered her head, "As you wish."

"If that’s the case, then can I have Lucy come with me?"

"If that’s what you want," Jared replied almost instantly.

Lucy quickly stood to her feet. Helping Kiara out wasn’t a big deal for her; in fact, she was grateful for it.
