Reincarnated To Evolve My Bee Empire-Chapter 277: A Chosen One chooses a Chosen
I watched Farini slowly approach the hive. Although I was not a master of reading expressions on the bug-like green faces of humans of this world, I imagined he was feeling reverence.
Agent Whisper and her sisters really did a marvelous job brainwashing him!
Now it was time for Nectus Stingprince to do his part.
While Ambrosia and the thousands of my daughters (most of them Warriors wearing dragon scale armor) watched quietly from the sides, I dramatically flew forward to hover slightly in front of the hive. Behind me, my bodyguards carried a massive red-painted banner that served as my background. fгeewebnovёl.com
In a dozen steps, Farini the aspirant had crossed the distance between us and stopped a hundred meters away. From this distance, I could make out Whisper openly sitting on his flat hat.
She smirked cheekily.
'The human is delivered, Father!' she messaged me. 'Look at how obedient he is… He wouldn't slap you even if you sat on his forehead.'
'I hope you aren't talking to him this way, Whisper,' I chastised.
'Of course not!'
At this moment, Farini stood on his knee and bowed his head low. His hands were trembling, and he clenched them into a prayer gesture.
Whisper's thought-voice changed immediately as she began transferring to me what she read in his thoughts.
'I thank the gods for giving me the right to lay eyes on this sacred place. I… I don't know what else to think… Oh, my holy Whisper, please guide me! The pledge, right—but to whom do I pledge? How…'
I sent Whisper a warning to not interfere for now and instead flew closer to the kneeling man—close enough that he could make out my appearance.
For today, I went all out! My Forever Greatest armor was polished to a shine, my golden spear was sharpened even if it never had to be sharp, and I even cut my hair, which was getting too long.
'Her guidance is not needed anymore, Farini. Raise your eyes. You are in the presence of us, the Emperor of those who carry the divine will with us. By their will we are the ruler of this sacred Empire, and by their will the Empire spreads their word. And you are the first human to know all this.'
Farini blinked and finally looked at me. His eyes widened.
'But how… Why gods sent you to us *now*? Is this… did you come to help us against the plagues that ravage us? Against the tyrannical rule of the High King, who does little to help? Against our own ignorance?' Whisper added after a brief pause, 'Don't doubt it, Father—Farini is very grateful to hear your words. I can feel it in the tone of his thoughts.'
I nodded, both to her and to Farini.
'Yes, Farini. All that. The new era has come quietly to this world, and it's a dark one… So we came just as quietly to guide the devout humans, taking the blessed forms gifted us by Ashuya, Goddess of Knowledge. Now, pledge yourself to us and become our torch that will drive the darkness away.'
Ashuya was one of the major gods of the local pantheon, which by itself was mostly unimportant to me, except for her. Because bees were her sacred animal, so it at least explained why the Bee Empire was, well, the *Bee* Empire.
As I said this, I sent Whisper the words she would tell Farini. All for the ceremony. Ceremonies did a lot of heavy carrying in moments like these—even I, the cynic, was moved.
Probably because Farini was a couple hundred times taller than me.
And what for him was a holy pilgrimage for me was a risky decision to make more open alliances with humankind.
My pipeline of telepaths has told me all about the successes and failures of my Agents in the Naregan Kingdom. They even found some information about the world at large, although it was unimportant for now.
The Bee Empire grew greatly in the time since Agents started their work. But even with more and more beasts being tamed for our purposes, we expanded our reach too slowly.
With humans to do large-scale tasks for us, things could progress much smoother. Of course, this wouldn't be without benefits for them! At the very least, their technological development was disappointingly lacking and the bees could help with this a lot.
From the Agents, I knew other countries were rumored to have more advanced inventions, but they didn't reach this place yet.
Farini lowered his head again.
'I, Farini ma Michka Hetsha, pledge my mind, my body and my soul to the Holy Emperor Nectus, his Bee Empire, and the divine cause of guidance given to them by Ashuya and all the deities. I swear to not doubt, to not falter, and to fight until my last breath—not for myself or for my nation, but for all the humans of the world!'
To accept his pledge, I flew closer—close enough to actually touch the chitin on the man's forehead. If he didn't keep his eyes closed at the moment, he'd go cross-eyed.
'I, Nectus Stingprince, accept your pledge, Farini ma Michka Hetsha. From now on, you are the Chosen of the Divine Will. Rise and be blessed!'
At this moment, I touched Farini's thoughts—although, there wasn't much. He seemed to have gotten entirely stupefied with awe and devotion…
Ah, I almost felt a little bad about tricking him like this! But not as bad as the possibility that some of my daughters might catch the ideas Agents poured into humans' ears and start believing them.
Now *that* would be a disaster!
Thankfully, so far, they just looked down on humans instead.
In the meantime, Farini obeyed my command and stood on his feet. I flew a little back before my bodyguards got too nervous and clicked my tongue.
'Now, Farini. You came here because your nation needs help—and it's time to see what we can do to help you.'
