Chapter 926: Steelshot Vs Garrett

After Iceheart and Gentle Wind voiced their concerns, Xu Feng smirked coldly.

“Ahem, it’s not that there isn’t a way to see the scenery being displayed.” He cleared his throat and said.

“Then what are you waiting for?” Iceheart asked but then paused herself. For some reason, she had a bad premonition.

While she had a bad premonition, Gentle Wind was more straightforward.

She retrieved 5 silver coins and handed them to Xu Feng. “Viewing fee, right?”

Seeing the 5 silver coins, Xu Feng chuckled in amusement.

He gladly accepted the money and then made some changes to the system. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

Sure enough, the screen changed and now they could all see Steelshot was concealing himself with the forest environment.

What astonished them more was that the space seemed unlimited even though the battle stage was only so big for them to move.

“Won’t they hit the walls if they tried to reach the end?” Gentle Wind asked curiously.

“Fret not, the environment around them would constantly shift to adapt to them.” Xu Feng explained. “As for hitting the walls, it would be quite impossible because there would be a warning to them in advance.”

“I see…”

After some questioning, Gentle Wind no longer asked and kept her eyes glued to the battle stage.

Meanwhile, back at the battle stage, Steelshot managed to locate Garrett already. Despite this, he was not a bit happy. In fact, he was quite wary and cautious.

‘This Garrett isn’t even trying to conceal himself. Is he that confident as a Gun Knight?’ Steelshot wondered silently.

The difference between a Gunner and a Gun Knight was the damage dealing and durability.

Steelshot being a Gunner was weak in durability, but its movement speed and damage made up for it.

On the contrary, Garrett’s movement speed and attacking power was quite low. But in return, his durability and endurance were high, especially when he could use his shield to defend himself.

To summarize, Steelshot couldn’t proceed with a head-on confrontation and had to use guerilla tactics to slowly chip Garrett’s health points down. This was the reason why Steelshot chose to hide and Garrett remained in the open.

“Come out, Steelshot.” At this time, Garrett suddenly placed his gun down and shouted. “You’re a guest from afar, so I’ll let you take the first few shots first. I promise I won’t attack you.”

Having said so, Garrett’s eyes glanced around at the tall grass and trees.

When he noticed zero movement, Garrett wasn’t disheartened. Just like how Steelshot knew he had to use guerilla tactics, Garrett also understood that he would win as long as he discovered him and closed the distance between them.

“Alright, don’t show yourself then.” Garrett snorted. “Keep hiding like a little kid. I’m sure that would help you get far in life. Seriously, I can’t fathom your Guild Leader’s generosity. If I were her, then I would have long booted a coward and useless trash like you.”

A few seconds later, some of the grass started making a rustling sound.

‘There you are!’ Garrett sneered inwardly as he quickly turned to the source of the sound and fired a few shots.

Just at that moment, behind him, Steelshot emerged with a cold expression.

He had his guns ready and was certain that his decoy worked perfectly.

However, his confidence was only for a brief moment.

“What the…” Stunned, Steelshot didn’t anticipate the moment he revealed himself, Garrett would be facing him with a sinister smile.

More importantly, he had a shield up to cover himself and a grenade on the other hand.

As for the shots that were fired from earlier, Garrett had already swapped his weapon.

Upon realizing that he had fallen for the deceitful act, Steelshot hurriedly tried to run back to the tall grasses to take cover.

Alas, that was wishful thinking of Steelshot.

Now that Garrett spotted him, he wouldn’t let go of his prey. In an instant, he had already hurled over the grenade to cover Steelshot’s escape.

The speed at which he threw exceeded Steelshot’s expectations.

“Go ahead and escape there. I have more grenades set up there.” Garrett sneered coldly.

‘Damn it,’ Steelshot cursed silently. He was qualified as a pro player, so in that instant, he already spotted the so-called grenades that Garrett mentioned.

Although he couldn’t get a clearer look, he calculated that the only available path was up ahead.

If he chose to escape and tank the grenade that was set up further behind, then the radius plus the knockback impact would easily cause him to be weakened.

Left without a choice, he started firing his guns in front to threaten Garrett.

“Die!” Steelshot roared and made sure to swap to his heavy gun.

“No, you are already dead.” Garrett snickered and rushed ahead, using his shield to tank the damage.

Despite his health points decreasing from not even attempting to dodge, his brute force movement effectively closed the gap.

And in that next instance, Garrett bashed Steelshot with his shield and propelled the latter to the trap he had laid in advance. “Thanks for the great battle experience, Steelshot.”

Steelshot couldn’t even respond properly when his back seemed to have triggered some wire.

KABOOM!

Soon, a mushroom cloud consumed the forest. But that wasn’t the end of it.

Amidst the dust and smoke, Garrett’s eyes narrowed as he retrieved his pistol and shot a few times.

Even though vision was limited, Garrett could pinpoint Steelshot’s silhouette and accurately fire his shot.

“Good night, Steelshot.” He uttered. After saying so, a system prompt appeared above the sky, indicating the victor.

Victory: Garrett

The battle stage scenery returned to normal and Steelshot’s body started to respawn on the stage.

Steelshot’s expression was darkened as he failed to comprehend how he lost so miserably.

Meanwhile, outside the battle stage, Gentle Wind’s eyes widened in shock and disbelief.

“How was that possible?” She muttered.

“When did he even set up those traps and grenades?” Iceheart tilted her head, clearly trying to ponder when Garrett had made such a set up.

“There was only one trap though.” Xu Feng suddenly chuckled and informed them.

“From start to finish, the only explosive trap was the last part when Garrett bashed Steelshot toward a designated spot.”
