Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 46: Double Mutated Fire
Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Double Mutated Fire
By resting.
Leng Pan had only been in bed for thirty minutes when the bedroom door was pushed open and someone walked in.
She lifted her head out of the blanket and looked towards the door to see her husband walking towards the bed.
"Are you not feeling well?" Lu Zhen asked with concern etched on his face as he walked faster to the bed and sat at the edge.
Placing a hand on Leng Pan’s forehead, he sighed in relief when it didn’t feel warm. He was worried that the onset of the apocalypse had caused some changes that affected her health.
Leng Pan felt a warmth crawling into her heart when she saw how concerned he was. She hadn’t had someone care for her like that in a long time. Without parents in both lifetimes, it was understandable that she craved the warmth given by Lu Zhen.
Even to this day, she still wonders how the previous Leng Pan had managed to push him away and reject him so decisively when he gave so much warmth and security.
Truly stupid. Leng Pan thought that she wouldn’t reject this man for anyone even if the heavens descended.
She smiled at Lu Zhen and comforted him, "Don’t worry, I am fine. Just a little drained."
"Why are you so tired? I let you rest the whole night even though I was dying to bury myself inside of you. What made you drained then?" Lu Zhen asked with a smirk as he watched his wife’s face turn a bright shade of red.
He loved how she always acted liberal but was so shy that she couldn’t look straight at him when he said something slightly suggestive.
She was so adorable.
Leng Pan might have been over twenty years old in both lifetimes, but this was her first relationship and she still wasn’t used to the intimacy.
She had let Lu Zhen do whatever he wanted with her as early as on their wedding night because she saw no need in acting all shy and postponing the inevitable.
It was going to happen sooner or later, so why pretend not to want it and later still agree?
However, this didn’t mean that she wasn’t shy. She was a girl in her first romantic relationship after all. Lu Zhen saying things so bluntly made her so shy that she couldn’t speak or look straight at him.
She grabbed the blanket and buried her head in it. If she couldn’t see him, then she wouldn’t be awkward. That’s what she told herself.
Lu Zhen chuckled lightly when he saw her actions. She was still so innocent even after they’d made love a couple of times. It looks like he would have to work harder so that she could get used to him.
He wanted her to be able to accept their intimacy no matter when and where. He didn’t believe in what many in his culture preached.
You’d hear people criticizing others for making love during the day as if it was a crime against humanity. If you are married, that is a legal relationship. You can love each other and be intimate at any time of the day.
Marriage doesn’t only count at night. Right now he wanted so much to dig her out of that blanket and take her in every position possible, but he had to restrain himself. The rest of the family was waiting for them to have breakfast and talk about what to do.
With communication lines down, they can only depend on using the old landline phones, but unfortunately, not many households have them. Most people depend entirely on mobile phones.
Luckily for him, he had installed one in the study room he made in the apartment.
He wanted to call his assistant and see if he had any useful news. Even though the apocalypse has started, many people have not realized the gravity of the situation yet.
He had not been direct with his assistant before, but now he could give him a heads up so that he could stay ahead of others and protect himself and his family.
Pulling the blanket down, Lu Zhen called for Leng Pan to get up and get ready for breakfast.
"Mom and the others are waiting. Get up and get dressed. I’ll wait for you." He said when Leng Pan lifted her head again.
"Okay, by the way, I awakened my superpower and can fill at least a bottle of one and a half liters with water. That’s why I drained my strength trying to find out how much water I can produce." Leng Pan informed Lu Zhen as she got out of bed.
Lu Zhen was a little surprised. Not because she had awakened, but because she could already produce so much water. She had told him before that in their previous lives, when she awakened her superpower, she could barely fill a half a liter of water bottle, now the amount has tripled. It looks like the spiritual spring water has done more than just clear impurities from the body.
"I have awakened my superpower as well. It is fire, but it’s different from normal fire." Lu Zhen replied. Leng Pan had already informed him that he would awaken a mutated fire ability. He just hadn’t expected it to be so different.
"How different is it?" Leng Pan asked. From the description of the book, Lu Zhen’s fire ability came in a deep crimson color, unlike the red-orange regular fire.
It was twice as hot and could even melt metal.
"It’s deep crimson with purple hue on the inside." Lu Zhen replied.
"That’s expected, your mutated fire was indeed deep crimson...wait, what did you say is the color of your fire ability?" Leng Pan whipped her head around so fast that Lu Zhen feared she had whiplash.
"Be careful." Lu Zhen said as he got up and walked to her, then held her neck and started rubbing it to soothe any discomfort.
"My fire is deep crimson in color with a purple hue at the center. Isn’t that how it was in our previous life?" He repeated his answer and asked another question because he remembered her mentioning his fire ability being mutated.
