SEX WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S FIANCÉ-Chapter 14 - FOURTEEN
Chapter 14: Chapter FOURTEEN
- KILLIAN -
My class ended. Students are walking out of the class. I scanned the crowd for a second looking for someone. She’s not here.
This is the third class this week she hasn’t attended. Why do I have the feeling that she’s avoiding my class? And on purpose. I raised a brow as I glanced at Kate. She’s sat in her usual spot but there’s no Hazel.
Why do I care?
Kate winked at me. She’s trying so hard not to be so obvious. I grinned back at her and watched her leave.
I don’t, I replied my thoughts. Hazel is just a student that I’m aware of. Of course her absence will bug me. I sighed and picked up my tablet from the desk.
If anything, this is interesting. I’ll be sure not to do any make up tests or activities for a student to catch up.
I walked out of the classroom while checking my schedule on my tablet. A smile formed on my face when I saw my schedule.
I have none. Never in my life did I think I would be glad not to do something. I hate teaching and it is surprising because I happen to be very good at it. My students do well in my subject. Maybe for other reasons but as long as they understand and get good grades, the school will think I’m doing a job well done. Which I am.
"Good morning professor Ivanov." A lady called and I turned my head in the direction I heard the voice from. I’m staring at her. Wearing an ash suit and pants with sky blue inner shirt is a blonde. She’s one of my colleagues. I don’t know how many times a man has to ignore someone’s advances to let them know he’s not interested.
I flashed her a half grin. "Always a pleasure to see you, Lorelei." I said. The blonde took off her glasses and dipped the tip of the handle in her mouth. She’s trying so hard to be flirty.
That irks every nerve in my body. The shit I have to put up with just to fit in is annoying. On a normal day, I would ignore.
Certainly your type of women are the ones who dine in clubs and bars. Or is it legal college girls? My mind taunted. Sometimes, I hate the thoughts that pop into my head. It’s the one thing that kills a man, because man can’t Get rid of their thoughts. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
"You always look good." I said, walking past the blonde.
If not for ID cards hung on their necks, I would not know the names of anyone except from the vice chancellor in this university.
And Hazel and Kate. That annoying voice in my head said again.
They’re not workers of the school! I retorted.
I stopped in front of my door and swiped my card on the side where the scanner is. I find it impressive how this is the way to unlock and lock certain doors. I never thought schools were this advanced with doors. A chuckle slid out of my mouth. It is kind of funny.
The moment I stepped into my office, I groaned and sunk myself on my seat. I just need a nap for a whole day to relieve myself of this stress.
I have so much to do... So damn much and S’ damn file needs more than just a few days to sort out. I dropped my tab on the table and turned on my laptop.
It is booting. I tapped my foot on the floor impatiently, waiting for it.
The more time I waste trying to settle one thing, the further I am from achieving anything. Being away from my clan is strenuous enough. It is still so unsettling to me that I left my brother in charge while I’m working on other things in this state.
A chuckle slid out of my lips, so far, living here in such condition has not been my favourite thing. The lives of the middle class must be frustrating. The wages I make here, being a professor, in a month is less than what I earn normally in a day. I wonder how people manage to feed with such little income.
I took a deep breath in and tapped my fingers gently on my desk. After all, people need to live according to their means while managing their income, or at least, look for a way to generate more income. I exhaled.
It would be nice if people did not have to steal and waste the lives of people to do that.
My fists clenched. My family are everything but innocent but I will never forgive the human who did that to them. Never. And I will not rest until that person is brought to justice with my own hands.
A soft ding diverted my attention. I don’t know why but hearing it eased my mind. I stared at my laptop screen. I had no idea it was done booting. I typed my password in and waited a bit to resume my thoughts. It’s the rage that keeps me going. The false hope I have that I am so close to finding her.
So far, the only lead I have is a blur picture along with a bit of information and that is as good as nothing.
I took a deep breath in while staring at nothing in particular, my mind needs to be clear in order to process such codes and decode it. I plugged the flash drive to my laptop and a folder popped up on my screen. It is too risky for me to save the file so what I do is take the drive with me everywhere, a copy though, going about with the original is too dire.
My eyes are fixed on my screen as my finger makes its way on the keyboard with ease, correcting some things in this file.
Something I never noticed before popped up on my screen. I swayed my index finger on the trackpad with my eyes glued to the screen, watching everything carefully as well as the arrow. I double tapped.
I found myself grinning at the document. S is an ass but one awesome person to collaborate with. Once again, They has proven to be useful.
[They refers to S]
My eyes glistened in desire. If I was so fucked up, I’m definitely sure seeing this would’ve turned me on. Fuck! Being here now has never felt so blissful.
This database has a lot more information I can use to find her. That sick asshole wronged the wrong family. The best part about this is, she doesn’t know what’s coming to her. It’ll be one big unpleasant surprise.
The sound of heels hitting the floor slid into my ears. My hand reached into my belt and clenched around my gun. My eyes are still on the file but I’m on edge. A knock on a door followed after and I stared at the person standing by the door.
Relax Killian, you’re at a university. Not a crime scene.
I rolled my eyes. My bad habit still lingers. This lady is lucky. She would’ve had her head blown out if my attention wasn’t mainly on something else. It’s Lorelei.
"May I come in?" She asks, standing by the door.
My lips formed a line. I saved my work and downloaded it into the file before responding.
"Sure. The office is yours." I said.
Someone take this woman away from my office.
"I am practically free for the next two hours. Are you?" Lorelei made her way in front of my desk.
I know what comes next but I don’t want to lie. This might just be a good distraction for me.
"I am." I said.
She sat down at the edge of my desk. I don’t appreciate that. I traced my gaze up her face. Lorelei is beautiful but she’s trying too much.
"Would you like to join me for lunch? I know a good café."
Ah I see. My answer is no.
I smirked and stood. I held my hand out and took hers with me. She watched me do this. "Sweet, sweet, Lorelei, I want to remind you that I’m engaged."
She giggled huskily. "Who said my question means more? It’s just lunch." It’s shocking how women throw themselves at engaged men yet complain that we are the problem. But yeah, a drink won’t hurt. Plus, this woman could be the key to my blending in smoothly.
"If you insist. Nothing but lunch." I said, letting go of her hand. My hands are now in my pockets.
"I’ll get ready. See you in five."
"It’ll be my pleasure." I said. She got up from my desk and walked to the door. Before leaving, she stared at me and flashed a smile. I didn’t react to that.
Lorelei left.
If only I could change the locks for my door, I will.
And I
probably need a new furniture. She tainted my desk with her ass. I rolled my eyes and stifled a groan.
