SEX WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S FIANCÉ-Chapter 160
Chapter 160: Chapter 160
- KILLIAN -
She falls asleep so easily. Everywhere and anywhere. Whenever we’re done being intimate, it’s easy to catch her glued to her pillow Is it that good?
Am I that yummy to experience? Whatever the answer is, I take a pause, who am I kidding? I know what the answer is. Yes I am.
I divert my attention from the bed back to the table and go over some of the paper work I have to skim through and sign. It would be nice to sleep lazily without thinking of tomorrow or the day after that.
To just sleep without caring about anyone and anything else would be a luxury. I’m wealthy yet I don’t even have that kind of luxury.
A smile paints my lips. I try to stay quiet with the chuckle that follows after so not to wake her. When she’s awake tomorrow, I’m sure the ‘new arrival’ syndrome my departure caused would’ve faded and s be back to resuming her daily life in peace.
I halt my thoughts and finish reading the last few lines in this folder. Taking the pen that’s laying on my table, I scribble my signature on the last page, at a corner underlined empty for my signature.
That’s one less document to worry about. I doubt I’ll be able to get sleep at all tonight with all I have to sign.
The light up of my phone, which is on my desk catches my attention and I reach my hand out to grab it. The cause of the disturbance is still texting me. It’s Liam simultaneously with Kate. I let out a sigh. While I understand why both of them would message me this late at night, I’m disturbed by it. Would it be safe to say that I am not quite comfortable being in contact with my ‘fiancée’ again even though I have a legal responsibility to play to her? For now.
I massage my forehead with a hand while taking a deep sigh. Liam’s chat is the first one I click on.
‘Liam’ I start, typing out the words I want to tell him in person. ‘I need you to send me a hundred men.’ I send the message.
The three dots which signified him typing suddenly disappears. They appear on the screen again after a short while.
‘And what on earth do you need a hundred men for, big brother?’ He asks.
Normally, that shouldn’t be the response when I demand something but as my ‘baby’ brother, he has the responsibility to be annoying as fuck and mess with me on purpose.
‘A certain someone feels they have the power and audacity to torment someone I’m deeply attached to. I want to put that to an end.’ I message him. ‘Does that answer your question?’ I send after. ‘Don’t test my patience.’
‘Haha, if I don’t, who will?’ I can almost hear him say with and picture the overly satisfied look plastered on his face as he does. It’s quite aggravating yet peaceful to imagine.
‘Consider it done. They’ll be at your service and within your vicinity in two days.’ Liam’s messages makes my chest heave with a relieved sigh. Hazel is literally like the bone of my bone. Anyone who thinks they can tamper with her needs to rethink their decision. I won’t put up with it.
‘Thank you.’ I tap my finger on my phone screen, contemplating a lot of things. A question bothers me. ‘I sent two of my men, both deceased to you for autopsy, what did you find?’ I ask the one question plaguing my mind.
‘I think this would be best discussed in person.’ Immediately drops after. That’s smart. I’m being careless chatting about something this dire over a text.
‘I will send the results to you via one of the people I will send to you, though. Read it carefully and seek a doctor’s opinion if you must, something about it might intrigue you.’ I won’t be surprised considering it’s Owen who did the killing himself.
I haven’t told Liam the gang is back together, not on good terms but back regardless. Owen and Asami are working hand in hand with They, my worst enemy. It’s quite ironic if you ask me. It has always been the three of us against the world. Although how we currently are is justifiable under the terms we last parted ways.
It was brutal. . . . For each of us. Which is one more reason why this is really draining mentally. I have an adamant loathe towards Asami, my past lover, while Owen has an ever longing grudge against me. What a way to turn us against each other, I must commend S for that.
A sigh leaves my lips as I rest my back comfortably on the backrest of my chair. I would be lying to myself if I say the thought is not disturbing but I don’t allow myself to dwell on that much.
‘I guess I’ll be leaving first.’ I type, thinking of anything else I’d love to bring up to Liam before sending this message. I don’t have anything else. I click on the send button on my screen and the message gets delivered.
‘Will I meet you soon?’ Liam questions.
‘During the holiday.’ I reply.
‘I’ll anticipate your arrival then. Maybe even host a feast.’
Host a feast sounds way too ancient to use, I’m not that old. ‘As long as it’s not crowded with unnecessary women.’
‘If it is, they’ll be for my own satisfaction.’ I roll my eyes the moment it lands on the message. Liam is a grown man so who am I to question his choices even when they are very questionable?
‘Have your fun. I’ll be here when you’re ready to man up.’
‘And then you’d teach me how to be engaged and have a side love side by side?’ My face flattens at his response. Touché. That’s not very funny. And it’s not very accurate either and he knows. Liam knows more about the contract that binds my marriage with Kate better than anyone else outside the two of us. Heck, he’s the only one who is aware of it.
‘The next time we meet, remind me to give you a punch across the face.’
‘Haha, Natalie will kill you.’
‘At least, I’d have done a number on you first.’
‘Try your luck.’
I grin at his message. A sigh leaves my lips. ‘Liam, send fifty men as well. They’ll keep watch of the men requested to watch Hazel. In case of something fishy.’ Fishy as in Owen. Never again will I leave her unprotected or without care. I’ll make it so difficult for Asami or Owen and anyone else to get to her as long as she’s by my side. Even if she’s not, she will be under my protection and it will be known to as many people who are aware of her existence in the underworld. Just having the thought of harming her instantly makes the person and those involved around him an enemy of my empire and The Iva, not my family home, is not an empire to be played with.
‘Consider it done.’ I smile at Liam’s text.
‘Goodnight.’ I message.
‘I know my charm is irresistible so don’t stay up all night thinking about me, brother.’
I groan at his text. If that’s his way of telling me ‘goodnight’ then I’ll take it before it gets more awkward than it already is. I drop my phone, facing the screen on my desk to avoid further distractions. My phone screen lights up again.
I hesitantly pick my phone up. This time, it’s Kate. ‘It’s really kind of you to help out with things at that side but I’m more than capable of handling my own business. I’ll be at school in two and a half weeks and nothing more.’ Reading this is giving me a migraine. I didn’t open her chat to check the other messages preceding this one, I only read from the notification which popped on my screen.
Well, Hazel, I did my best to stall her arrival. I just hope it was enough like you wanted. I drop my phone back on my table.
Now, where was I?
I lower my gaze to the paperwork waiting for my ink to be on them in writing.
Ah, yes, I was doing some work.
