Once they were done shopping at Wild Buddy, they continued walking around the streets for a bit, Mira carrying Luna and enjoying her date with Mariana. They had bought a white bunny dress for Luna, so she would not stand out as much and to protect her from the heat.

It looked like a little poncho, and was equipped with the same Magic In-Clothes Temperature Regulator Cul’Cool that Mira was so enamored with, keeping Luna at a comfortable temperature. On top of that, with a flip of the little hood, they could turn Luna from a blue Pure Rabbit into a regular white bunny. It was almost like Luna was a princess visiting the city in secret.

They avoided the most crowded streets, preferring smaller alleys so that Luna could hop around freely. At the same time, that allowed them to find hidden gems amongst the less frequented stores.

There were all sorts of trinkets to fit anyone’s aesthetics, and Mira realized that she could find almost anything she wanted for Refining as well, so she ended up buying a lot of random stuff.

As the sun began to set, they returned to the tower. In their room, Mariana headed right to start making dinner and the cakes for dessert. Mira also went to work, without taking a moment to rest.

But this time, it was not working on her skills or Refining, but instead something in a corner of the living room, while Luna watched with eyes full of excitement.

She was going to build up the indoor sand pit set they had bought earlier, which was also the most expensive thing they obtained there.

While they were looking around Wild Buddy, they had found one of those built up as a display piece, and Luna jumped straight into it, digging burrows with mindless enjoyment.

Even the sand was custom made, so a full set including that cost a whopping 300,000 Rils, but Mira did not second guess herself for a moment seeing how happy Luna was.

Now she had taken all of it out of her Item Box and placed the pieces around the living room.

「Just a bit more, I’m almost done.」

Once the main frame was built, all that was left was to fill it with sand. Mira picked up the bags and emptied them.

「Alright, it’s all done!」

Around an hour after she started building it, Mira had finally emptied the last bag of sand, and so she raised both hands in celebration. The result of her work was indistinguishable from the one showcased in the store.

「Kyuii!」

Luna also let out a happy squeak. Barely a moment later, Mariana also entered the living room, bringing some iced tea while commending Mira on her work. Mira then thanked her and took the tea to down it all in one go.

「Phew, a cold drink after a job well done always hits the spot!」

She had actually put a lot of effort into building the sandpit, as sweat was building up on her brow, which she wiped off and then looked at the result of her work again.

While it was branded as an indoor piece, it was still rather big. The sand was at least thirty centimeters deep, and had an area of two tatami mats. That obviously meant that it required a lot of sand to fill it up, which was the reason for the many empty bags behind Mira.

She only realized just how much sand she had carried in total, so she sat down on the edge of the sandpit and let out a sigh as exhaustion washed over her.

Meanwhile, Luna had already jumped inside and was starting to play in it.

(…This would’ve been the perfect time to use Dark Knight Frame…)

Since she had been focusing on ways to use her new skills in combat, the option of using an Exo-Summon for more menial tasks had completely passed her mind. And while she regretted not thinking of it earlier, seeing how happy Luna was made it worth it.

In a way, it was more rewarding that way, which she tried to convince herself of as she smiled.

She then joined Luna in playing in the sandpit, passing the time until Mariana was done baking the cakes and getting all the basic preparation for dinner done. After that, their evening continued as usual.

「Well then, shall we?」

「Mhm, let’s do it.」

Taking a bath together once preparations for dinner were complete had become a part of their routine during the last few days. And that together also included Luna. When Mira called Luna, her head poked out from the sand.

The sand was also special, being made in a way that would not stick to fur or skin, so just a little patting was enough to shake it all off.

After doing that, Mira picked up Luna and headed to the bathroom with Mariana, to let the warm water soak up all of the exhaustion that had built up during the day.

Once they got out of the bath, Mariana went to quickly put dinner together as usual, and this time, her delicious dinner was accompanied by cake for dessert. Mira praised it as being the best Mont Blanc she had ever tried, and Luna also nodded while squeaking, her cheeks filled with carrot cake.

Mariana just smiled seeing how happy both of them were.

And so Mira’s day off was spent surrounded by warmth and kindness.

The next day, Mira worked with renewed energy, being engrossed in researching summoning, teaching Emilia, training Creos, discussing how to improve the beginner classes for summoner students, checking the material used at the Academy, and overall being involved with everything as much as she could.

On top of that, she tried to go out a bit more to visit the ruins of ancient battle sites nearby, wanting to know if there could be new types of Armor Spirits present.

She also went to visit the orphanage, where she played with the children, helped rearrange the rooms, and went on walks with them around the city. All the while not forgetting to make sure they all had an embellished view of summoners.

Currently, Lastrada is not at the orphanage. Things had settled there a few days prior, so he felt comfortable leaving to finish his last job as Fuzzy Dice in Grimdart. That meant that Artesia had more work on her plate now, but she seemed to be smiling even more than before, likely because of her obsession with children, or because the orphanages that usually preferred being with Lastrada were following her now.

At Lunatic Lake, she also visited the castle from time to time, chatting with Solomon about random things, or joining conversations about how to train spellcasters better, ways to improve production of Magic Sealing Stones, and how to make the city a better environment for spirits to live in.

During those conversations, they would often ask for the Spirit King’s opinion as well, which meant that everyone needed to hold hands to hear what he had to say. Having all of Arkite’s top officials forming a circle like that was a rather surreal experience, but everyone went along nicely with each other, so no one complained about that.

She was doing a lot of work, but she was also making requests of her own.

Part of that was her desire to get her ultimate equipment. She required the best craftsmen to produce the strongest items, not to mention that only those with special skills would be able to work on the pieces of Machina Guardian.

There was no one like that in Arkite, but someone there knew where to find them, namely, in one of the facilities of the Rising Sun Committee. According to Soul Howl, the best craftsmen were all gathered in the Modern Technology Research Institute.

But that was not the kind of place Mira could just waltz in, and even if she knew where it was, it was dubious whether they would let her in. So it was better if she talked with Solomon about it first.

After all, Solomon was also a member of the Rising Sun Committee, and Mira could use his influence to her favor. When she told him, he agreed saying, 「Alright, I’ll tell them next time we talk.」

A few days after that, the craftsmen gave a response, 「So, when is she coming?」

It was a short but straight to the point response. They were actually excited to craft something so elaborate for Mira, on top of wanting to get their hands on the piles of rare materials she had collected from Machina Guardian.

Overall, they were willing to lend her their talents, and were very welcoming of her.

「Once you’re done with your work here, you can go. I’m sure they’ll welcome you as an esteemed guest.」

「Hmm… Sounds good. Though now I’m also starting to feel slightly concerned…」

If the craftsmen were so motivated, then they would surely produce something incredible for her. But at the same time, she was starting to get worried that it would end up becoming something outlandish instead, as the best craftsmen were known for getting carried away if they got too excited. Many of her past acquaintances had been like that, so now she was half expectant and half worried.

「Oh right, there’s one more thing…」
