Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 695 - 694: Distorted Space
"Oh Shit."
Corey's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the result of his attack.
The Supreme Tribulation Eye was split in two, and for a fraction of a moment, Corey felt a presence descend into the split Supreme Tribulation Eye.
The presence swept its consciousness over him, and Corey's subconsciously shivered due to the power he perceived from the consciousness that swept over him.
Before Corey could begin comprehending or pondering what the presence was, the presence abruptly vanished and so did the Supreme Tribulation Eye.
Corey was taken aback at first, and then his gaze went to the sky above.
In the Underworld, there were places, buildings, and objects most Underworld residents referred to as the Wonders or Masterpieces of the Underworld.
One of them was the Sky of the Underworld.
The Sky of the Underworld was regarded as a Wonder of the Underworld because of its similarity to the actual sky of New Earth.
The Sky of the Underworld looked exactly like the sky of New Earth, and for some, they would never question whether the sky above them was fake or real.
Although the Sky of the Underworld looked real, the absence of the moon and sun was what made most to realize that the Sky of the Underworld wasn't actually the sky of New Earth.
When it's day, the sky would brighten like there was an actual sun in the sky.
When it's night, the sky would darken and still brighten up the Underworld with a dim light like the actual moon.
There was also a mist that resembled clouds in the sky, and all these little details made most to regard the Sky of the Underworld as a Wonder of the Underworld.
The sky could also generate wind that felt completely natural, and even those who had been in the Underworld for years told of times when it rained and thundered in the Underworld, and also snowed in the Underworld.
The Sky of the Underworld made most to feel like they were still living in their world, in freedom.
It was extremely strange.
Asides from all of these, there is one other reason why the Sky of the Underworld was regarded as a Wonder of the Underworld.
No Tier 4, Tier 5, or Tier 6 could truly reach the sky. The closer one got to the sky, the more powerful the gravity that would act on the individual that tries to reach the sky, and not only that, after a certain level, the sky would react to the individual and actively attack the individual.
There have been extremely talented Underworld residents in the past who tried to reach the Sky of the Underworld, however, they all perished.
Corey knew about this. He had purchased and watched the videos of these scenes, and even he could feel the threat that the Sky of the Underworld emanated.
People could fly, but past a certain point, you could no longer fly in the Underworld.
A lot of people knew this, and because of this, some even treated the sky as a deity.
However, this 'deity' had been split apart for the first time since the creation of the Underworld in New Earth.
Corey's pure white eyes watched as the sky shattered like glass, and the light that had always been constant across the Underworld flickered almost like it was about to go out.
Although Corey was stunned, his eyes were glued to what he was seeing after the shattering of the sky.
Darkness.
Absence of light that made it seem like the void but Corey knew was not, and then Corey saw it.
A ripple spread across the darkness.
'Is that... Water?'
Corey squinted his eyes in surprise, and he strengthened the output of his Eyes of Omniscience.
'It's actually water. Is the Underworld inside a body of water?'
Just as Corey had this thought, he snapped his head to his right and frowned.
'Somebody is coming.'
'No... A lot of people are coming.'
Corey was not surprised by this because of the commotion he caused. However, what he was surprised was the sheer number of Tier 6s and Tier 5s that were coming in his direction.
Altogether, they numbered close to a hundred or maybe even more than that.
'The fastest is going to arrive in less than five seconds.'
Corey calculated the speed at which the fastest person moved through space, and he calmly shifted his gaze to the sky.
He watched as the pieces of the sky fell like glass, and then a second later, time began to rewound around the shattered sky.
The pieces of the sky slowly went back to their previous position, and Corey was fascinated by this because it was his first time seeing the power of them being used.
Although Corey wished to observe the process to the end, he knew that doing so would be foolish.
He opened his hand and looked at the pure white pill that was calmly resting on his palm, not knowing that it was the cause of what was currently happening
'No.'
Corey looked down at his little brother.
'You're the cause of everything.'
Corey shook his head, and then he absorbed all traces of his presence in the surroundings through Breath of Omniscience.
'Two seconds left.'
After absorbing all traces of his presence in the surroundings, he attempted to teleport back to his room in the Neon Headquarters.
However...
'Hmm?'
It failed.
Corey tried again.
And he failed once more.
'What the?'
Corey's eyes widened in disbelief, and he quickly inspected the space around him.
When he did, he could not help but curse inwardly.
'The void has been tampered with? How?'
'Wait... The presence I felt from the Supreme Tribulation Eye after I split it apart. Was it the Supreme Ancestor or a Supreme?''
'Whatever it was, what it did was truly frightening.'
'It manipulated the space around me so that the moment any energy or force of the void interacted with it, no matter how little, the space would strengthen and become extremely distorted.'
'It knows I'm a Paragon and it targeted me before it disappeared.'
'Luckily for me, it didn't attack me.'
Corey calmly glanced in the direction of the closest Tier 6, and then he plummeted to the ground after storing the Maiden's Breath Pill.
Before his feet even touched the ground, Corey's feet and legs became engulfed in lightning and he bolted away like a streak of lightning.
'Note to self, never think with your dick. It never ends well.'
