Snowstorm: I'm Super Rich in the Apocalypse-Chapter 125 - Selling Guns
Chapter 125: Chapter 125: Selling Guns
Chapter 125 -125: Selling Guns
Lu Ruisheng had no objections; they indeed had more than enough supplies, so he nodded at Gu Pan in agreement.
Regarding Yuan Jiang, they both acknowledged him highly. He seemed likely to survive till the end, which meant there was a high likelihood of encountering him again at the base or other places. Therefore, they were willing to make friends with him.
Gu Pan said to Yuan Jiang, “Alright, then we’ll trade at the market price. Bring your items anytime you’re ready to exchange.”
After speaking, she pulled out two guns from the cabinet. “Take a look at these guns first, see how they work. We’ll teach you how to use them when the time comes.”
Yuan Jiang touched the guns, his eyes sparkling. Such possessions might remain unseen by many in their entire lives; in the apocalypse, these were also a symbol of power. With these, one could assemble a team.
He said, “Thank you. Will you be at home tonight? If so, I’d like to make the exchange quickly.” They too wanted to leave earlier to secure a strong position.
Gu Pan responded, “We’ll be here tonight, and it would be a good chance to teach you how to use the guns.”
Yuan Jiang quickly agreed, “Thank you, then we’ll come over after dark.”
Once the arrangement was set, Yuan Jiang bid them farewell and went back to prepare.
Watching Yuan Jiang leave through the main door, Gu Pan asked Lu Ruisheng, “Do you think their supplies were already on hand, or did they acquire them these past few days?”
Lu Ruisheng replied, “I think they had them already.”
“Do you think it was Old Master Lin’s?”
“Possibly, their family matters are quite intriguing indeed.”
“Truly, the apocalypse does test humanity.”
“Old Master Lin has it tough too, at his age. He was supposed to be a strategist, and to end up like this… But it’s his own fault for not educating his descendants properly.”
“Exactly, spoiling a child is akin to killing a child. Let’s not talk about them anymore. Let’s prepare something to eat.”
After washing up, the pair started making dinner.
After dinner, when everyone else had gone out, the couple sat at home reading, waiting for Yuan Jiang and his companions.
An hour later, Yuan Jiang knocked on their door.
Lu Ruisheng opened the door to find Yuan Jiang carrying two bags of rice, and Lin Mengmeng carrying another.
They had come through the back door; since they lived close by, it wouldn’t draw much attention.
Once inside, Yuan Jiang said, “This is a total of 300 kilograms. We’d like to exchange them for two guns and forty-eight bullets.”
Gu Pan noted that the rice was vacuum-packed and the bags were new, clearly not tampered with much; it seemed likely they were indeed Old Master Lin’s private stash.
Despite that, she admired Old Master Lin’s decision to not just guard his grain but to use it to barter for guns, venture out and take risks with his grandkids; it wasn’t easy.
Lu Ruisheng took out the guns and bullets, addressing them, “Two guns, fifty bullets. We’ll head up the mountain tomorrow morning, and I’ll teach you how to use them.” The extra two bullets were a bonus for buying so much.
Yuan Jiang and Lin Mengmeng thanked them and took the guns home, eager to discuss the matter with Old Master Lin.
As for Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng, they didn’t think much of it; it was just a typical apocalyptic trade.
In the middle of the night, the neighbors returned. Today, they brought back five sewing machines from a small workshop; these were foot-operated, and they also brought thread. At this time, most people only looked for food, so machines like these, although seen by some, were left behind; they were too heavy and seemed unnecessary since simple manual repair would suffice for clothing.
Gu Pan, before the apocalypse, had bought electric sewing machines; there was no shop for these old types back then, and she really wanted one. They were always usable and more durable than electric ones, which she always feared might break, hence she bought several.
She tested one out, “Can I keep one of these at my house? I can help make things for everyone.”
Chen Shaonan responded, “If you know how to use it, of course we should give you one, others don’t know how.”
Lu Xuerong added, “Teacher Duan and I would like to learn as well, Xiao Gu, can you teach us when you have time? Who knows when we might need to make our own clothes?”
Gu Pan smiled, “Sure, actually, I only know how to use it but not much about tailoring clothes. We can figure it out together when the time comes.”
So it was happily decided, and the three women started cleaning the sewing machines and even disinfected them since they were brought from outside.
Cheng Yang quietly pulled Lu Ruisheng aside, “Brother, I need to talk to you about something.”
Lu Ruisheng was used to Cheng Yang’s secretive ways and followed him to talk softly on the side, “Is it about a romance?”
Lu Ruisheng shook his head, “No, it’s about supplies. Remember, sister asked me to gather more family planning products? I heard the prices for these are very high outside right now, and they’re not easy to buy. Should I sell some? I have quite a lot, I started collecting them extensively when the apocalypse began after sister told me.”

Lu Ruisheng laughed, amazed by how his wife thought to hoard such items. Indeed, these were very useful in the apocalypse not only for contraception but in many critical situations they could be lifesaving.
They could be used for emergency hemostasis or, if there were wounds on hands or feet that needed to contact water, they could protect against infections.
Besides, they had other uses, like keeping important items dry, and could even be used to make an improvised lifebuoy. By inflating two and placing them inside pant legs tied around the neck, a person who couldn’t swim could cross rivers.
Such was the importance of these items, which is why Gu Pan had instructed Cheng Yang to stock up on them.
Now, Cheng Yang’s bag always had the most of these supplies. He could let go of other supplies, but he always protected these well because his sister had emphasized their value and future worth.
Today, he heard that many wealthy folks were buying them up – one could be exchanged for a kilogram of high-quality grain. This piqued his interest, so he asked Lu Ruisheng whether to trade them for something else.
Lu Ruisheng softly told Cheng Yang, “Your sister said they’d be even pricier later on. We’re not short on supplies now, so hold onto them for now. They’re easier to carry than food items. We have plenty of food, but managing more can be troublesome. These items, kept close, can always be traded for supplies. If anything unexpected happens and we get separated, the family planning products on you could save your life.”
Cheng Yang agreed with Lu Ruisheng’s argument: “Then I won’t sell them yet. Sister told me many uses for these, my only worry was about their shelf life.”
“They have a long shelf life, generally three to five years. When you get back, check them. If there are any near expiration, sell those first. If they have a longer shelf life, keep them.”
Cheng Yang nodded, then thought for a moment and added, “Maybe I should keep some on Chen Lang as well, if we get separated or face a crisis, these might save lives.”
Lu Ruisheng smiled and nodded, “Sure, Dr. Feng always carries a few too. I’ll let Teacher Chen know, and from now on, everyone should keep a few on hand.”
Cheng Yang also smiled, “Bro, you and sister sure know a lot.”
“Alright, stop flattering and go help your sister clean those sewing machines.”
They both went over to help clean the sewing machines too.
