Spy-x-War Showdown-Chapter 60 - 59 Violent Tendencies
60: Chapter 59: Violent Tendencies
60 -59: Violent Tendencies
Whether there was an issue or not, it was common to make a fuss before stating your case; you couldn’t just blind someone without consequence to yourself.
In such cases, even if the other party had provoked the incident, due to a sympathy for the underdog, the person forced to retaliate could also end up unlucky.
The black man was knocked to the ground, his hands twisted behind his back, which exposed his face.
Seeing the bloody hole where his eye should have been, a guard exclaimed loudly, “Oh, my God, that’s disgusting!”
Yang Yi’s hands were bound behind him as he was pinned face-down on the floor.
He didn’t struggle but instead shouted, “Help me, I’ve been stabbed in the stomach!
Help me!”
“Shut up!”
The guard pressing down on Yang Yi barked without any courtesy, only to then whack Yang Yi’s thigh with a baton before shouting, “Quiet!
Who saw what happened, did you see anything?”
Now Yang Yi understood why Chris had quickly risen to his feet and turned his head away.
Chris stood ramrod straight, declaring loudly, “Nothing!
I didn’t see anything!”
It wasn’t just Chris; everyone had turned their faces away as he and the black man got into it.
Yang Yi couldn’t help but shout, “He attacked me…”
“Shut up!”
Another blow landed on Yang Yi’s leg, fueling his anger, but he would not say more or resist the guard.
This was a prison, and the guards ruled this place.
“Kid, you’re lucky.
Because we have surveillance!”
After whispering into Yang Yi’s ear, the guard shouted, “Take them to the infirmary, damn it, what a mess!”
Yang Yi was dragged upright and then escorted to the infirmary.
The black man was still yelling.
Both men were taken to the infirmary together, where the doctor, upon seeing the black man, simply said with a calm expression, “Oh, damn, his eye is gone.
Let me see this one.”
Lifting Yang Yi’s shirt to inspect the wound on his stomach, the doctor shrugged indifferently, “Just a scratch.
It’s nothing.
Send him back.”
Yang Yi knew his wound wasn’t serious, but he still had a cut on his stomach.
Even if it wasn’t fatal, some antiseptic should have been applied at the very least.
“Doctor!
It hurts, I need treatment, please!”
With an indifferent look, the doctor replied, “We’ll talk if it really gets inflamed.
Take him away.”
The guards dragged Yang Yi out again.
Yang Yi was not panicked inside, but he wondered what punishment he would receive for getting into a fight and blinding someone.
He ought to be punished in some way, after all.
Contrary to Yang Yi’s expectations, he was taken straight back to his cell. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Looking at the door of his cell, Yang Yi couldn’t help but say, “Officer, is that it?
I’m okay?”
“There’s surveillance; that black bastard attacked you first.
You were just defending yourself, so you’re fine,”
Having pushed Yang Yi into his cell, the guard who escorted him back loudly declared, “Cell 356, lock the door.”
The iron door shut, and Yang Yi still couldn’t believe his ears.
In his mind, shouldn’t both parties be reprimanded equally?
In Yang Yi’s experience, even if someone else wanted to kill you, but they didn’t succeed, while you inflicted serious injury on them, you’d better be ready to compensate them.
But here, it seemed there was no equal punishment or even the opposite, where the victim gets punished instead.
He was forced to fight back, so he was in the clear.
Is this okay?
Yang Yi was still savoring everything that had just happened, and after repeatedly reminding himself that this was the United States, he finally convinced himself that although he had blinded someone in one eye, he himself was unscathed.
It was incredibly satisfying.
Yang Yi plopped down on the bed and glanced at Chris, who was sitting on the opposite bed watching him.
He smiled faintly and then lay back on his own bed.
“You should be careful,” Chris said, “The Boxing King will retaliate against you.
Although he might not care about the life or death of a newcomer, he feels that his dignity has been challenged.”
Chris had spoken up.
In prison, one should trust no one and certainly not develop any unnecessary fondness for someone.
Chris would not do anything for Yang Yi, and after what had just happened, Yang Yi had no particular feelings about his cellmate except seeing him as just another convict serving time together.
Now Chris’s attitude had changed, and Yang Yi thought it was because he had just blinded someone.
A tough character always gained a different kind of respect from others.
“Chris, how long have you been here?” asked Yang Yi, not picking up on what Chris had just said, but instead asking what he wanted to know.
After hesitating for a moment, Chris replied softly, “Six years, and I’ll be done with my sentence in another one.”
“That’s soon, Chris.
You’ve been here for quite a while.
Can you tell me if you know of any other Asians here?” Yang Yi was eager to find Zhang Yong as soon as possible.
“There are a few,” Chris replied softly.
“Tell me about them, thanks.”
Chris thought for a moment and said, “There are two Indians, and I know there are two Vietnamese.
They’re from the Vietnamese Gang.”
Yang Yi paused, “Indians and Vietnamese?
No other Asians?
No other yellow-skinned people besides the Vietnamese, like me?”
Chris pondered for a moment and shook his head, “No, that’s it.
This prison doesn’t have many Asian inmates; I don’t remember any others.”
Yang Yi started to panic, “That’s impossible!
There must be others.
Think hard, aren’t there any other yellow-skinned people?”
Chris thought for a moment and shook his head, “No, really, there aren’t any.”
Yang Yi was now truly frantic; he hoped after all the trouble he went through to get into prison, it wasn’t that Zhang Yong had already been released.
If that were the case, things would really be interesting.
“There might be Asian inmates among the felons, but I’m not sure about that.”
Yang Yi was pondering what to do next when he was startled by Chris’s words, “Felons?”
“Yes, the serious offenders and the less serious ones are managed separately.
Those people are too dangerous, and their schedules don’t align with ours, so now the felons and the non-felons are separated; they even have different times for activities and meals.
We live together yet belong to two worlds that will never meet.”
Yang Yi relaxed slightly, then whispered, “Felons?
I see, that makes sense, and it’s very possible.”
Chris frowned and said in a low voice, “You want to join an Asian gang?
You’re still young, I think it would be best if you reconsidered.
Joining a gang isn’t the best choice, but of course, the decision is yours.”
Yang Yi smiled and turned to Chris, “Buddy, I have a question.
Is it possible for a non-felon to get locked up with the felons?”
Chris hesitated and then nodded, speaking softly, “Yes, if a person is particularly violent, they might be placed in the prison for felons.”
