Chapter 100: Battle Of The gods! Pt3

Trapped on the thrashing head of the Abyssal Maw Leviathan, with the force of its [Draconic Roar] rattling his very soul, Daniel felt a moment of pure, unadulterated clarity.

He was outmatched in raw power and wounded. His usual tactics, overwhelming force and impossible speed, were being neutralized by a beast so vast that it made the laws of physics seem optional.

He couldn’t win a slugging match with a living mountain. He had to be smarter. He had to be a predator!

"Alright, you big ugly fish," he gritted out, the wind tearing the words from his mouth. "You want to play rough? Let’s play rough."

He ignored the screaming pain in his ribs and the ringing in his ears.

He let go of his grip on the Leviathan’s snout, a move of pure, calculated insanity.

For a fraction of a second, he was airborne, a lone spark of defiance in the face of an apocalyptic beast.

The Leviathan, sensing his release, began to open its colossal maw again, preparing to swallow him whole.

But Daniel had already moved. He activated his A-grade skill, a gift from the Dark Cloud Leopard. "[Counterattack Storm]!"

A shimmering, almost invisible barrier of absolute defense flared around him for a split second, just as the edge of the Leviathan’s thrashing head clipped him again.

The impact, which should have sent him into the next dimension, was instead absorbed, converted, stored.

He felt a colossal amount of energy surge into the skill, a debt waiting to be repaid with interest.

He used the momentum of the blow to launch himself away, not flying, but using a controlled, kinetic-powered leap.

He landed lightly on the devastated shore, a good fifty meters away, a grim smile on his face.

The Leviathan, momentarily confused by his sudden disappearance, roared in frustration.

"Hey! Over here!" Daniel yelled, deliberately drawing its attention. freewebnøvel.coɱ

He held up his hand, which now pulsed with a terrifying, contained power. "You dropped this!"

He unleashed the stored energy from [Counterattack Storm].

It wasn’t a beam or a bolt, it was a silent, invisible shockwave of pure force that blasted outward in all directions.

"BOOM!"

The ground exploded!

The shockwave slammed into the Leviathan’s massive head with the force of its own attack, multiplied.

The beast staggered, its colossal form stumbling back into the boiling lake, a bellow of pained confusion resonating across the valley.

It had been hit, hard, by the very power it had just unleashed.

The real battle had just begun.

While the Leviathan was momentarily disoriented, Daniel took a deep breath, letting Lia’s distant but constant [Mending Stream] soothe the worst of his injuries.

The S-Grade Blade of The Night materialized in his hand, its dark metal seeming to drink the dim light, humming with a deadly purpose.

The time for testing was over. The time for killing had arrived.

"Let’s dance," he whispered.

He activated his S-Grade [Twilight Phantom Step].

The world around him dissolved into a silent, flickering blur.

He moved like a shadow, not just dodging but weaving an unreal pattern of motion around the colossal beast.

He was too fast, too small, too unpredictable for the Leviathan to track effectively.

He appeared at its massive, tree-trunk-sized ankle, the one Ayra had so bravely dented earlier.

He didn’t use a flashy Solar Flare Fist. He channeled his B+-Grade [Savage Might+], his Strength surging, and activated his C-grade skill, a gift from the higher-level assassin, Ragnar. "[Backstab]!"

He drove the S-Grade Blade of The Night into a seam between two of the Leviathan’s obsidian scales.

The S-grade weapon, designed for just this purpose, pierced the supposedly indestructible armor with a sickening shink!

The [Backstab] skill amplified the damage, and the blade’s own effects flared to life.

"CRITICAL HIT!" flashed across his internal display.

The massive critical damage, combined with his immense strength, sent a catastrophic shockwave of pain through the Leviathan’s leg.

It roared in agony, its leg buckling slightly. The wind shrieked as it tried to stomp on the infuriating insect at its feet.

But Daniel was already gone, another silent blink of his [Twilight Phantom Step] taking him to its other leg. Again and again, he repeated the process.

A flicker of movement, a precise, S-grade dagger strike to a vulnerable joint, then vanishing before the beast could retaliate.

He was a ghost with a divine weapon, systematically dismantling the giant from the ground up.

"He’s... he’s doing it," Ayra breathed from the treeline, her eyes wide with disbelief.

She couldn’t even follow his movements, only see the sudden flashes of light and hear the pained roars of the Leviathan.

"He’s taking it apart, piece by piece."

"His speed is absolute," Lia murmured, her hands clasped, her healing energy still flowing towards Daniel in a steady, life-sustaining stream.

"And that dagger... it ignores defenses as if they weren’t even there. He truly is a monster."

The Leviathan, maddened by pain and frustration, began to thrash wildly, its tail sweeping, its head snapping, its roars shaking the very mountains.

But it was like trying to punch smoke. Daniel was everywhere and nowhere at once, his [Twilight Phantom Step] making him an untargetable nightmare.

With a final, desperate roar, the Leviathan reared up, preparing to unleash another massive Hydro Cannon, hoping to obliterate the entire shoreline and the annoying pest with it.

Daniel saw his opening. While its head was raised, its massive, scaled underbelly was exposed for a precious few seconds!

He channeled all his remaining power, his form blurring as he shot forward like a phantom bullet.

He activated [Initial Attack], the Night Ranger skill guaranteeing a critical hit from stealth.

He appeared directly beneath the Leviathan’s chest, his S-Grade Blade of The Night held in a reverse grip.

He drove it upwards, aiming for the soft spot where the heart of such a beast would likely be.

"SHIIIIIIIIINK!"

The blade plunged deep, its S-grade sharpness and Daniel’s immense strength bypassing scales and muscle with terrifying ease.

The Critical Strike triggered, amplified by the [Initial Attack] skill. The blade’s special effect, the 1% chance for a Fatal Strike, pulsed with a faint, almost imperceptible black light.

The Abyssal Maw Leviathan froze.

Its apocalyptic roar died in its throat. Its massive, furious eyes went wide, then glazed over with a look of profound, cosmic surprise.

A deep, shuddering tremor ran through its colossal form. Then, with a groan that sounded like a dying world, it began to topple, crashing back into Yang Lake with a splash that sent a tidal wave across the valley.
