Chapter 140: CH 140: Next step of action (MUC 8)
As Dave approached the building, he was greeted by the aftermath of a brutal battle. The ground was littered with the bodies of Kim Hyun’s beasts, their lifeless forms a testament to the ferocity of the fight. Dave’s eyes scanned the area, taking in the sheer number of beasts that had been summoned by Kim Hyun – nearly 300 of them.
But what struck Dave was the resilience of his own undead beasts. Despite being battered and bruised, they still stood tall, their undead bodies refusing to yield. The beasts of Kim Hyun had attacked them with all their might, but it was like hitting a brick wall – no matter how hard they hit, Dave’s undead beasts wouldn’t fall.
Some of them had taken significant damage, their bodies broken and battered beyond recognition. A few had lost limbs or had some of their flesh taken out. It had went on to reduce their rank from Undead Kings to Undead Lords.
While others who had been stripped down to their skeletal frames, had gone from undead lord to undead knight. Their flesh and muscles were gone, leaving only bones on their body.
But despite their reduced state, these Undead Knights seemed almost invulnerable, their bony bodies resistant to even the most grievous injuries.
In the end, it was Dave’s undead beasts that emerged victorious, their relentless onslaught wearing down Kim Hyun’s creatures until they were all defeated. As the dust settled, Dave surveyed the battlefield, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. The beasts that had once belonged to Kim Hyun now lay defeated, and all he had to do was add them to his own army.
With a wave of his hand, Dave began the process of binding the defeated beasts to his will, incorporating them into his growing army, as he went ahead to add them into his void space. Due to how endless the void space is, the beasts could be transported anywhere.
All Dave had to do was think of where exactly he wants them to be. If he wants them to be around the same area as where he had placed the people, he could do so. But he didn’t do that, as it might frightened those that are there.
But that wasn’t all, there was still the initial 200 beasts that Kim Hyun had summoned to fight him, but he had placed into his void space. With a thought, all 200 beasts had emerged from the void space, materializing before him with a sudden burst of energy.
Dave’s sword flashed in the light as he charged forward, his blade slicing through the beasts with deadly precision. The sound of ripping flesh and screams filled the air as Dave cut down the beasts one by one, his sword biting deep into their stomachs.
The beasts crumpled to the ground, their entrails spilling out onto the floor as they struggled to comprehend the suddenness of their demise. As the last beast fell, Dave then proceeded to add them all into his void space. They would serve as his additional undead beast army.
With his undead army complete, Dave then decided to bring out the people he had rescued. With a wave of his hand, the void space opened once more, and about ninety people emerged into the bright light of the day. They blinked rapidly, their eyes adjusting slowly to the sudden change from darkness to light.
For a moment, they stood frozen, disoriented and confused. But as their eyes adjusted, they looked around, taking in their surroundings. The familiarity of the place hit them like a ton of bricks – they were back in the area outside the building.
One of them spoke up, their voice laced with confusion. "Wait, we’re not dead?" fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
They looked around, taking in the scene before them – there was no beasts around them, neither could they see Kim Hyun or the bomb that was set to blow up. All they could see was Dave, who watched them with an unreadable expression.
"Yes, you’re not dead. Where you found yourself minutes ago was a safe place created by me. So you’re not dead." Dave replied, his words sparking a wave of relief and joy among the group.
Smiles erupted on every face, and some of the people couldn’t contain their emotions, rushing to hug one another. The air was filled with the sound of laughter and tears of joy, as the weight of their ordeal finally began to lift.
However, not everyone was eager to join in the celebration. The two men who had been fighting in the void space stood awkwardly, their faces turned away from each other. They clearly didn’t feel like sharing a moment of affection, their animosity still simmering just below the surface.
Meanwhile, a smaller group broke away from the crowd, their faces filled with curiosity and concern. Sun and Ella, along with Peter, Kurt, and Jeff, approached Dave, their eyes locked on him with a mix of questions and gratitude.
"What happened?" Peter asked, his voice laced with a sense of urgency. "Where is Kim Hyun?" His eyes scanned the area, as if expecting Kim Hyun to emerge from the shadows at any moment.
Dave’s response was straightforward. "He’s dead now. You don’t have to worry about him again." A sense of finality hung in his words, a reassurance that the threat had been neutralized.
Ella’s eyes widened in surprise, and a smile spread across her face. "Really?" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement, "That’s amazing!"
The others nodded in agreement, their faces reflecting a mix of relief and gratitude toward Dave.
Dave’s gaze then shifted to Kim Sun, and he noticed a subtle downturn to her expression. Her eyes seemed clouded, and her usual brightness was dimmed. But before he could dwell on it, he turned his attention back to the others.
"I want you to gather everyone in front of the building," Dave instructed Peter, Kurt, and Jeff. "We need to discuss our movement forward as beast tamers." His voice was firm, but his tone conveyed a sense of importance. "I’ll be back in a few minutes."
With that, Dave walked towards Kim Sun, his strides long and purposeful. He reached out and gently took her hand, his touch was warm and reassuring. "Let’s talk," he said, his voice low and gentle.
Together, they walked into one of the rooms in the giant building, the door closing behind them with a soft click. The room was quiet, a stark contrast to the bustling activity outside.
Meanwhile, Peter took charge, his voice ringing out across the courtyard. "Everyone, gather in front of the building!" he announced. "Dave has something important to say, and it involves our progression as beast tamers in this world." His words sparked a flurry of activity, as people began to move towards the designated area.
As they waited for Dave’s return, the atmosphere grew thick with anticipation. What did Dave have in mind for their future? How would they move forward in this desolate world? The questions swirled in their minds, but one thing was certain – they were eager to hear Dave’s words and embark on the next stage of their journey.
Meanwhile, none of them knew that a certain fellow was watching everything unfold. A visible vein could be seen on his forehead as he watched from above.
