Chapter 726 -726: The Adventure Starts Again

“Today is Sunday; you sent me a letter this morning. What have you been doing in the past?”

Princess Angelina, listening to all this, curiously watched the two. Although she did not understand, she could feel Shard was impressive.

“You don’t need to answer me, as that’s not a tale I am meant to hear. But if so… Miracle – Yellow Moon, Desecration – Sloth, Enlightenment – Slumbering Princess, Whisper – True Death.”

Lecia mused:

“Your Three Ring Soul Rune is complete, but the Sublimation Incantation ‘Slumber’ is not yet in your hands. This won’t do, Shard, I am not sure if ‘Slumbering Princess’ can substitute for ‘Slumber’ in the formation of the Sublimation Incantation.”

The Spirit Runes corresponding to the Sublimation Incantation do not necessarily have to match exactly, but they must be extremely similar. Moreover, even if substituting with similar Spirit Runes, no more than two of the five Spirit Runes in the Sublimation Incantation can be of similar concepts, otherwise, it would lead to difficulties in future advancements.

“And once you have mastered the power of ‘Slumbering Princess,’ wanting to engrave ‘Slumber’ will be ten times more difficult, if not more.”

“As long as I need to use the Time Key next time, I am almost certain that I will obtain Enlightenment. Therefore, I need to acquire ‘Slumber’ before the next use of the key.”

Shard summed up his concerns. fгeewebnovёl.com

“Yes. Additionally, you can write to Saint Byrons to inquire about this. You don’t need to directly say ‘Slumbering Princess’ can substitute for ‘Slumber’; you could ask in the manner of an academic discussion. Since Saint Byrons has collected this Sublimation Incantation, he must have recorded a way to substitute the Spirit Runes.”

Lecia held Shard’s hand, instructing further, while Angelina watched their hands, wondering about something.

“No problem, on Saturday I will inquire through the doctor’s channel to the Academy… directly ask Miss Danester. I fear the other party might notice something.”

“Lastly, remember one more thing.”

Her Highness the Princess looked at Shard with her eyes, making Shard think something important was about to be discussed.

“Next week is Mother’s… Dorothy’s mother’s birthday. You don’t need to go personally to congratulate her, but send a gift as a close friend, an author’s assistant.”

“A birthday? Oh, that’s a good idea, but what should I send?”

“I knew you would ask.”

Lecia said with a smile, glancing briefly at Angelina who was secretly watching the two:

“I have already prepared a gift for you. It will be delivered to you early next Tuesday, you write a congratulatory note to go with it, and then send it to the address of Luisa’s house. Do you know the address?”

“I know the street but not the house number.”

“I will send the address along with the gift to you. Remember to take out the letter I gave you and replace it with your own. Dorothy would be very pleased if she knew about it.”

She sat up straight, adding with some worry:

“It’s been a busy month, your key has whittled away all of Dorothy’s efforts. Although that also isn’t bad, being able to obtain the Spirit Rune helps me further enhance the power of ‘Slumbering Princess.’ But it seems we haven’t helped you this time.”

“That’s not true, understanding ‘Slumbering Princess’ allows me to develop the Arcane Technique later.”

Shard comforted her.

When Angelina saw that their conversation had finally ended, she cautiously blushed and asked:

“Mr. Hamilton, I’ve noticed that you look somewhat different from the last time.”

“Is that so?”

Shard touched his face, and Luisa nodded:

“Yes, you look even more handsome now.”

This was the reshaping of his body by the Phoenix Flame yet again.

“I actually wish I were a bit more muscular.”

He said with a laugh, though his build was now neither too thin nor too fat. Not thin because the food was really good, not fat because his body seemed to lack the function to become overweight.

“So, sir, do you have abs?”

The Little Princess hesitated for a moment and, blushing, asked a question that a lady should never ask.

Before Shard could answer, Luisa glanced at her and reached out to touch Shard’s abdomen:

“Clearly, our detective sir looks strong but shows no deliberate signs of working out.”

Her hand lingered on Shard’s abdomen for a moment before moving away, and even through his clothes, Shard could feel the warmth of that hand;

“Luisa, that’s not polite.”

“What does it matter? I don’t plan on doing anything else.”

The Red-Haired Princess said nonchalantly, toying with her Red Butterfly Pendant at her waist, and in her heart, she added:

“At least, that’s the plan for now.”

After the weekend passed, a new week began, and as the Month of Withered Leaves entered its third week, it seemed that the events at Midshire Fort were also headed towards a conclusion.

On Monday, Shard was to attend Granny Cassandra’s ritual, and then on Wednesday, the witches would lead Shard to the mountain waist interstice for a sealing. Afterward, there was the True God Church’s quest at Midshire Fort to find and remove four resurrection “nails” at Sicarl Mountain during the grand Divine Ritual assembled by hundreds of Old Clerics.

If all went smoothly, the disasters at Midshire could be successfully postponed for at least three years. As for what would happen after those three years, that was something to be considered after winter arrived.

Monday morning was, as usual, the time for Shard to draw gifts, and although last week he had only obtained an ordinary music box with Miss Galina and Tifa, Shard superstitiously believed that having the girls around could increase his luck in receiving gifts.

To test this idea, he decided to also carry the “God’s Gift Box” to Midshire Fort today. On one hand, he wanted to wait until the ritual was over to relieve memories with acquaintances from the distant past; on the other hand, he wasn’t entirely at ease with the so-called ritual.

Even according to Granny Cassandra, the ritual had been performed countless times, but in the eventful autumn of Midshire Fort, accidents could happen at any time. And the gift box, capable of suppressing out-of-control relics, was undoubtedly a very useful weapon.

“Don’t forget to bring the Night Watchman either.”

He was very fond of this sword, although it was likely to be used to finally resolve the problems in the interstice.

Since the home sealing ritual hadn’t yet taken place, Shard initially wanted to send Mia to Dorothy for safekeeping, but the cat seemed to be getting fed up with often being sent elsewhere and hence clinged to Shard, unwilling to leave him.

Shard couldn’t possibly leave the cat in his home now, it was too dangerous, so he had to bring it along to Midshire Fort.

For safety, he stuffed the cat into the “God’s Gift Box.” The experience from the “Dark Realm” indicated that Mia was very happy in the box and didn’t lack oxygen. Besides, as long as the box remained closed, no external forces could harm the cat inside.
