Stranger Danger-Chapter 1243: It Is Against Etiquette To Not Reciprocate
Chapter 1243: It Is Against Etiquette To Not Reciprocate
“Is this the reason the Mad Lord is able to construct such a marvellous headspace and impressive yang god?” The Taoist of Sleep muttered to himself.
“That’s correct. You want it?”
It was at this moment a powerful, resonant voice boomed throughout the headspace.
At the same time, a storm of yin and yang sprung to life and blew across Ye Qing’s spiritual world.
The Taoist of Sleep realized in shock that his corruptive power of dreams earlier were annihilated by the storm of yin and yang instantly. The spiritual space he had taken over was rapidly shrinking as well.
“How...?!”
Before the Taoist of Sleep could react, a pair of fingers descended like pillars of heaven and sealed off all directions. Then, they caught the Hidden Dragon and held it there.
Despite being over three hundred meters long, the Hidden Dragon was unable to struggle free. It was like a worm.
“Hidden Dragon Destroy!”
The Hidden Dragon let out a long howl before exploding all of a sudden. Its fantastical scales disappeared all at once and kicked up an unbelievably huge storm of colors and dreams.
As gorgeous and dreamy as the explosion looked though, it only heralded death and destruction.
“Quite decisive.”
Ye Qing let out a small chuckle as he bent his two titanic fingers, lifted it into the air, and flicked. The next moment, the deadly storm of death and dreams immediately started crumbling at a rapid pace.
A few breaths later, all was calm inside Ye Qing’s headspace.
On the throne, Ye Qing casually withdrew his fingers and ran them across the armrest, smiling. “But do you think you can run?”
“Taoist of Sleep...”
......
“Argh!”
Outside Cloud Hue Pass underneath a dead tree, the sleeping Taoist of Sleep suddenly let out a bloodcurdling scream. At the same time, bright red blood jetted out of his orifices.
“It hurts... it hurts...”
Clutching his head, the Taoist of Sleep rolled back and forth on the ground like a worm. It wasn’t long before mixtures of soil and blood covered his face, making him look even worse than he already was.
“Dammit... how did it turn out like this?”
A moment later, the Taoist of Sleep finally recovered his wits. His eyes were dim, and his spirit was wilted.
The main emotions running across his face were bewilderment and anger, however.
He was bewildered because he couldn’t figure out how Ye Qing was able to awaken despite being under the influence of the Sleep Zhis. Worse, he was somehow unaffected by his “Hidden Dragon Enters The Dream”.
He was certain that Ye Qing had fallen asleep. He was certain that it was neither a pretense nor Ye Qing’s intention to fall asleep. His Sleep Zhis had definitely done their work properly.
He was a practitioner of sleep and dreams after all. He was at least confident in his own Dao.
He had raised the Sleep Zhis with all his heart. He knew better than anyone just how potent they were. Considering the sheer amount of Sleep Zhis that had invaded his body, he should be stuck in an infinitely deep slumber where awareness or consciousness were completely absent. Not even a Half-Sage in Ye Qing’s shoes would be able to awaken immediately.
Not only that, he had immediately executed “Hidden Dragon Enters The Dream” after invading Ye Qing’s headspace. The technique possessed the power to enhance the Sleep Zhis’ effects and corrupt the victim’s mind, trapping their thoughts inside layers upon layers of dreams. He should have been senseless to the point where he could carve up his soul, and he wouldn’t notice a thing.
That was what would have happened if a Half-Sage was in Ye Qing’s shoes.
And yet, Ye Qing had woken up without warning, turning what was a flawless plan into a complete joke.
It was sudden, strange, and bizarre.
It didn’t make sense. He just couldn’t figure out what had happened no matter what.
What’s done is done though. He could do nothing but accept his failure in total bewilderment.
As for why he was angry, it was because he had gone for wool and come home shorn, of course. Not only did he fail to obtain the Earthly Sovereign Bell, he even lost a portion of his mind.
Just now, after realizing that there was no way for him to turn the tables, he had immediately detonated that portion of his mind. It was to cut off its connection to his main self and prevent Ye Qing from tracking him down or discovering his secrets.
However, that portion of his mind was splintered from his yang god. Naturally, detonating it was like killing off his own mind. To say it hurt would be the understatement of the day.
More importantly, the forceful detonation had dealt severe damage to his mind as well. If he did not recover quickly, forget the short term effects, it might negatively impact his future as well.
“Argh... Dammit! Why did it turn out like this? Why did he wake up? Just why?!”
The Taoist of Sleep’s eyes grew bloodshot, and his face contorted with rage when he thought until this point. He growled again like a bloodied beast, “I can’t accept this! I can’t accept this!”
“Haha. You want to know why? I can tell you.”
Suddenly, a ridiculing chuckle rang right beside the Taoist of Sleep’s ear.
“Who is it? Show yourself!”
Caught off guard, the Taoist of Sleep immediately scanned his surroundings.
The ridiculing voice rang once more. “Forgot about me already? You were just ranting about how I ruined your life.”
“It’s you, Ye Qing? But where—”
The Taoist of Sleep’s eyes bulged as every hair on his skin stood on end. Then, he seemingly put two and two together and submerged into his headspace.
As soon as he entered his headspace, he immediately saw a man standing at the center.
It was none other than Ye Qing.
“How... how are you inside my headspace?” The Taoist of Sleep asked while feeling cold like someone had dropped a bucket of ice over his head.
If Ye Qing’s sudden awakening was, despite his utter confusion about the matter, still within his limits of acceptance, then his sudden appearance inside his headspace was completely beyond his imagination.
He had already detonated that portion of his mind. How did Ye Qing manage to find him?
Worse, how did Ye Qing slip into his headspace without him noticing at all?
This shouldn’t be possible!
The unknown was always accompanied by fear. Lots and lots of fear.
“I invaded your headspace the exact same way you invaded mine.” Ye Qing smirked at the Taoist of Sleep. “Don’t you know? I’m an adept in dream Magia myself. How does it feel to taste your own medicine?”
“Pretentious liar! I don’t care how you came in, but you will regret this decision!”
Infinite fear transformed into infinite anger and killing intent that shook the Taoist of Sleep’s entire headspace and kicked up all sorts of bizarre waves.
The Taoist of Sleep’s headspace was like a universe of bizarre, indescribable worlds and myriad red dust. As they shook violently, a sun and a moon rose shoulder-to-shoulder into the sky. The combination of hot and cold was quite beautiful to look at.
A closer inspection would reveal that they were not celestial bodies, however. They were eyes. The eyes of a divine dragon.
The divine dragon was colorful, dreamlike, and impossibly huge. The sun and moon were its eyes, the countless worlds were its scales, and the myriad red dust its light. It looked both gorgeous, phantasmal, and mysterious.
The colorful divine dragon was the Taoist of Sleep’s yang god. It was called the Hidden Dragon of Sleep and Dreams.
“Die! Hidden Dragon’s Spring and Autumn!”
The next moment, boundless light burst out of the eyes of the Hidden Dragon of Sleep and Dreams. Its scales began manifesting all sorts of dreams, and waves could be seen rippling out of its mouth. Every ripple was a world of dreams, and there were millions of them combining into an eternity of spring and autumn.
The next moment, the infinite light and countless world of dreams engulfed Ye Qing.
