Chapter 75: Chapter 71: Acquaintance
Chapter 75 -71: Acquaintance
Yu Qing was even more worried about whether something had happened to Guo Yuyun, her anxiety written all over her face, knowing for sure that Demon Palace City would be in phenomenal chaos. Something as big as this, how could her father sit still, the old woman was surely furious.
“Didn’t you say there had been a situation like this before?” Si Zi asked.
“Last time a little thing happened, but she quickly told the family, this time, it doesn’t seem to be the same, I have to go back to Demon Palace.” Yu Qing said.
“You’re going back to the Demon Palace now?”
“My father is very anxious, and I have to go back to the Demon Palace to see what exactly is going on, whether or not I can help, I have to return.” Yu Qing was very worried and she had to go back right now.
“I will accompany you back.”
“No need.” At this point, Yu Qing had no time for anything else. The news brought by Hu Nanyue made it clear that it was urgent, and her father had even stopped his work to find her sister. It must be especially pressing.
So many things had happened within a few days, she could hardly find her bearings. Ye Chen had not been found, and her sister had gone missing, how could she not be anxious?
Si Zi said: “How could such a thing happen?” He knew that Yu Qing had been worrying about Ye Chen these past days, and with this incident now, wasn’t it even more exasperating?

Yu Qing was completely at a loss.
Si Zi said, “Ah, don’t worry, there’s no definitive conclusion yet, is there?”
Yu Qing didn’t speak.
“The people of the Demon Domain are all helping to find your sister.”
Si Zi had prepared for Yu Qing that evening, and early the next morning, she sent Yu Qing off. Zhan Ze also appeared that morning, and it was Si Zi who told him.
Yu Qing said, “You told him, didn’t you?”
“Ah. What is there that can’t be resolved, so many days have passed.”
Yu Qing gave a shallow laugh upon hearing this, no longer in the mood to worry about other things.
Then Zhan Ze came over.
Yu Qing turned around and simply greeted him.
“We’ve heard about your sister, be careful on your way back.”
Yu Qing nodded slightly.
“If there is any news, let us know.”
“Hmm, don’t worry, maybe that girl really is just playing around and forgot to come home.” He could only comfort her this way.
Zhan Ze smiled faintly and said, “Yu Yun is so smart, she won’t have any trouble.”
Yu Qing didn’t plan on saying much more either. Because of her sister’s situation, Hu Nanyue also chose to leave early. He did not stay for the martial arts competition that was to take place after a few days.
The last incident had somewhat affected Zhan Ze and Yu Qing’s relationship, but they both tried their best not to mention it.
Yu Qing climbed into the horse carriage, and said, “Let’s go, you guys go back.”
The horse carriage quickly rode off.
The cause for Yu Qing not talking much with Zhan Ze was first, because of Yu Yun’s situation, which had indeed made her very anxious. She barely slept last night worrying if something might have happened to Yu Yun. If something really happened to Yu Yun, what would she do?
The horse carriage was getting further and further away, and only then did Zhan Ze leave.
On the boat.
After messing about for two days, He Xibai had exhausted all his extra energy. Perhaps it was because he could only eat those hardened buns on the boat due to lack of nutrients, the people in the cage became quiet.
Xibai suddenly nudged Yu Yun beside him and said, “Don’t you feel that guy has been watching us all the time?”
“Who?” Yu Yun asked.
“That little beggar over there.” She pointed at Ye Chen.
“Maybe he’s so desperate to get married, he’s taken a liking to you.” Yu Yun said.
“Haha, I am not that charming. He may have taken a liking to you.”
Yu Yun smiled faintly upon hearing this.
When Ye Chen saw Yu Yun looking over, he quickly diverted his attention. He thought over whether he should go say hello. But before he could stand up, Yu Yun had already risen and was walking towards him.
“Yu Yun, what are you trying to do?” Xibai asked.
“To greet.”
“Why are you greeting? You don’t even know if he’s good or bad.” Being captured made Xibai a bit more cautious.
“What’s good and bad? We’re all captured, there’s no question of good or bad anymore.”
Yu Yun approached and said, “Little beggar, my maid says you’ve been watching us. Have you taken a liking to my maid?”
Ye Chen smiled faintly and said, “In this rotten boat, it’s uncertain whether we are going to live or die, who has the heart to think about this?”
“It’s not that bad.”
“Being caught in this cage, not knowing what we’re being used for, isn’t that bad?”
“We are alive after all, and as long as we are alive, there is a chance. Getting anxious is useless, what we need to do is to find a solution.”
“You want to escape?”
“Don’t you?” Yu Yun continued: “I’ve been observing you for two days. Everyone here is scared, but you seem to be different. Aren’t you afraid that they actually feed you to the sharks?”
“Me, I have nothing, I’m homeless now, I have nothing to lose. I’m just a little beggar, so if I die, I die. And I would still have you guys to keep me company on the way, it won’t be lonely.” Ye Chen said.
Yu Yun sat down beside him and laughed coldly: “You really know how to comfort yourself.”
“And you? You don’t seem afraid!”
“Me! Seeing that we are already in here, can fear solve the problem?”
Ye Chen nodded and asked curiously, “How did you get here?”
“I was conned into coming here for a meal.”
Ye Chen took a closer look, shook his head, and said, “For you to be fooled by a meal, that’s unlikely. I bet it’s this one beside you who was lured in with food.”
Yu Yun chuckled at his remark, while the person beside him, Xibai, widened his eyes in amazement.
“I guessed right then?”
“What about you?”
“I got tricked by a hunchback.”
“Also because of a meal?”
“Not quite. The hunchback fixed my dislocated hand and deceived me into thinking he was a good person. I didn’t realize how easy it is to place blind trust in others.”
“Really? It sounds like you get tricked easily.”
“Yes, I admit it. I’m not worldly enough and trust people too easily.”
Yu Yun glanced at the swaying cage above her head and asked, “Have you thought of a way to escape from here?”
“For now! You should think properly, they might really throw you down to feed the sharks.”
“So you plan on staying here then?”
“If not stay, then what? At least I won’t starve here. It’s better than being out there in the open.” He took out a steamed bun and began to eat.
“Seems like he really is a beggar,” He Xibai said.
“Right, I am a beggar,” said Ye Chen.
“I think we should band together and form alliance against these people,” Yu Yun suggested.
“An alliance? You don’t even know what’s going on outside! We don’t know where we’re heading and we’ve been sailing for days now. We have no idea which island we’re heading towards!”
“So you also think we’re possibly heading towards some island?”
“What better idea do you have?”
“I think the same.”
“Don’t make any rash decisions. We don’t know what kind of demons and monsters await us outside there.”
Suddenly, a thunderclap, as if the earth was being split open, resounded, sounding as if it resonated directly in their ears.
The ship began to shake like mad. The lantern hanging above couldn’t match the speed of the shaking and swung left and right, as if about to drop off at any time.
In the blink of an eye, it became overcast. Even inside the cabin, one could feel this through the dim light.
Thunder followed, one after another, and the sound of rain could be heard. The raindrops hit the ship’s deck, making a ticking sound.
Xibai couldn’t stand still, so he quickly sat down. The ship shook violently, and some people who couldn’t handle it began to vomit.
The whole ship sounded as though it could shatter at any moment, the wooden boards creaked under the pressure.
“Do you have a sister?” Ye Chen asked.
“How do you know?” Yu Yun looked puzzled.
“And your mother doesn’t like this sister of yours, born of the same father but a different mother.”
Startled, Xibai blurted out, “How do you know this?”
Yu Yun thought for a moment and stated, “It’s not hard to guess. The maiden by my side let slip that I’m the daughter of the Demon Palace Master, perhaps you’ve heard rumors about the Demon Palace.”
Ye Chen simply smiled in response.
“Do you know my sister?”
“Doesn’t seem likely, right?”
“Could it be that you secretly like my sister?”
“Actually, it’s your sister who has a crush on me,” Ye Chen responded.
Scoffing, Xibai retorted, “How could Yu Qing possibly be interested in you.”
Ye Chen glanced at himself, chuckling softly, “You may not believe it, but your sister is just that clueless.”
“How did you even meet my sister?”
Just then, a shout came from outside, “Everyone, get up!” A crowd of armed men stormed in.
Xibai asked, “Who are these people?”
Ye Chen, now on his feet, replied, “Obviously, the bad guys.”
The men opened the cage door, and the person at the front shouted, “Everyone get up now! Those who don’t, I’ll give you an extra two cuts.”
Those who were frightened complied immediately.
Hands tied with a rope, the prisoners were lined up and marched outside, where they could hear the man ahead saying, “If you want to survive, don’t try any tricks. This is the sea, we could drown you without breaking a sweat.”
Out at sea, thunder was still rolling, the rain was pouring nonstop and an island was visible. The island, hazily hidden in the fog, was covered with dense forest.
Above the island was a massive black cloud, like a giant iron pot cover smothering the island below.
It wasn’t just one ship, there were three more following behind, all of them pulling up to the shore.
Walking behind Yu Yun, Xibai asked, “Where is this place?”
“Obviously, it’s an island in the sea,” Ye Chen replied.
“Don’t need you to say that! Didn’t I see it myself!”
“Then why did you ask?”
Yu Yun glanced around at the other people, contemplating their situation.
