Chapter 993: 0993 A Battle in a Narrow Path! (Second Release)
Ye Qiu didn’t head to the safety passage, but rather dashed toward a mountain.
The mountain seemed to have been split open in the middle, leaving a gap just about a meter wide. Without thinking, Ye Qiu rushed inside.
The five behind him saw Ye Qiu move like lightning and swiftly follow him in.
As the first person got close, a massive boulder suddenly fell from above. Little did he know, Ye Qiu hadn’t gone deep but had climbed to a higher point, using his sheer physical strength to dislodge the boulder from the mountain with the intent of crushing the first pursuer.
Boom.
This person reacted quickly, seeing the boulder grazing the stone wall as it fell. He immediately mustered strength, intending to break the rock and strike Ye Qiu above.
Swish swish swish.
The four shadows behind all unleashed attacks, and Ye Qiu couldn’t rely solely on the rock to harm a mythic warrior, immediately piercing through the rock with the Kusanagi Sword. Its sharp aura instantly penetrated the rock and pierced into the pursuer’s palm.
The mythic martial artist screamed, his arm hurt and bled, and he immediately tried to withdraw his hand.
Ye Qiu wouldn’t let him off, with lightning speed, he twisted his hand, and the Kusanagi Sword drilled deeper, piercing from the center of the palm straight into the heart, breaking the ribs.
Splurt.
Blood gushed wildly; if this person weren’t at the mythic realm, such wounds would have been enough to kill him.
Ye Qiu was anxious; in another breath, the attacks of the other four would arrive.
Now was the perfect time to slay the person before him.
Ye Qiu didn’t immediately retreat; like a heavy lever, he dropped down and thrust the Kusanagi Sword relentlessly.
Squeak squeak squeak...
Blood flowed ceaselessly; Ye Qiu utilized his high position to render this strike devastating.
Ah!
The mythical warrior saw his intestines being pulled out by Ye Qiu’s sword. Furious, he clenched his fists, wanting to fight Ye Qiu to the death but hesitated, fearing he might attack in vain and end up killed.
This mythical warrior was daunted, scared, and retreated, while Ye Qiu pursued victory, closing in as the other four were less than two meters away.
The Kusanagi Sword pierced into the soil, flipped it over fiercely, sending dust flying, covering the face of the mythical warrior across.
Taking advantage, Ye Qiu wielded his sword, and with a flash of silver arc, the first mythical warrior fell dead!
Boom boom boom.
At the same time, the other four’s attacks descended. Ye Qiu’s feet shook, and he jumped, swiftly fleeing along the stone wall.
The death of the first mythical martial artist made the other four’s gaze tighten, both shocked and angry at Ye Qiu.
Their group of five attacked together, yet Ye Qiu managed to take down one. This guy truly couldn’t be underestimated just because of his young age.
The four pursued again, either moving along the ground or the stone wall, all plunged into this narrow chasm between the great mountains.
Moments later, elders Tang Hai and Tang Yun arrived, seeing the mythical martial artist’s corpse at the entrance. Both were stunned.
Five people dealt with Ye Qiu yet he slew one; was it that these five mythic fighters were too weak, or Ye Qiu was overwhelmingly strong?
Though they inwardly looked down on Ye Qiu, the death of the mythical warrior forced them to pay heed to Ye Qiu.
This young guy was no longer someone they could easily handle or dispose of.
"Follow him." The two continued forward, even if these five mythic warriors couldn’t kill Ye Qiu, they could exhaust him. They were ready to act last.
Ye Qiu moved at the forefront; within the mountain chasm, everyone’s movement was somewhat restricted.
Choosing this place for his counterattack had strategic merit; in a confined space, they couldn’t gang up on him, giving Ye Qiu the chance to dispatch them one by one.
The four behind pursued closely, not straying far.
Ye Qiu kept ascending, and the four quickly shifted directions. Soon, Ye Qiu, hugging the high ground, wielded the Kusanagi Sword, hurling stones down at them.
These small stones couldn’t kill them but could cause interference.
Ye Qiu swung dozens of times, enraging the four below, who cursed him as a little thief for being so despicable and not daring to fight upfront.
Ye Qiu sneered; expecting to fight openly with these bandits desiring to steal others’ treasures was ridiculous. If anyone was despicable, it was them.
"You old codgers gang up to rob a junior, and still dare to discuss honorable combat. It’s hilarious."
"If you lower your strength to Legendary, I’ll fight you openly. Do you dare?"
"Then even if the four of you fight together, you won’t be my match."
Ye Qiu’s remarks were sharp and scathing, enraging the four, making their ears and noses fume. They heard this junior challenge four of them, a boastfulness long unseen, not even the prodigies of the three ancient clans might possess such confidence and audacity.
"Ignorant child, do you even think yourself capable? Being targeted by us should be your honor. Offer yourself sensibly, and perhaps we’ll spare your life."
Ye Qiu sneered: "You old codgers thinking to kill me don’t have the qualifications."
Ye Qiu didn’t mind provoking them; since they targeted him, he had no plan to let them off.
In this ancient land, apart from the three ancient clans, other clan strongmen weren’t much; if killed, dissatisfaction wouldn’t bother Ye Qiu.
In verbal combat, though they were four, their fighting prowess couldn’t surpass Ye Qiu’s sharp tongue.
The four strongmen decided talk was pointless, preferring direct action.
Instantly, in the mountain chasm, attacks bombarded the area, the mountains quaked frequently, boulders tumbling, as Ye Qiu fought a guerrilla war, refusing to engage all four together.
Each time solo confrontation was optimal, seeking to slay when possible.
Soon, Ye Qiu used the eye of illusion to catch a mythic fighter off guard, impaling his heart, yet surprisingly, the foe didn’t die completely, recovering enough to strike Ye Qiu heavily.
Ye Qiu was blasted into the mountain, and within two breaths, he broke free, dusted off, and smiled.
"Thankfully, this soft armor absorbed most of the force, else that strike would’ve been deadly or critically injuring." Ye Qiu nervously remarked.
He hadn’t anticipated the mythic realm’s final strike’s potency; even he couldn’t react before being blown away.
Luckily, in the end, there was no peril.
"Only three left." Ye Qiu smirked, feeling relief as the pressure eased.
