Sylphie lowered her head, her voice coming out as a whisper. "I thought you hated me..."

Kael blinked, surprised by the confession, but soon a gentle smile formed on his lips. "How could I hate the first person who ever taught me magic?"

She lifted her eyes to him, hesitant, and he took the opportunity to continue:

"Besides..." He tilted his head slightly, his gaze gaining a playful glint. "You've gotten way too cute for me to hate. That would be a sin."

Sylphie froze.

Her face instantly caught fire, and she averted her gaze so fast it looked as if her life depended on it.

"I-I'm not cute..." she mumbled, fidgeting with the tips of her own hair, trying to compose herself.

Kael only chuckled softly, satisfied with her reaction.

After a few seconds, Sylphie took a deep breath and murmured:

"Sorry… I got jealous of that girl..." she confessed, nervously intertwining her fingers. "I don't want you to be mad at me..."

Kael sighed, scratching the back of his neck. "Well… I know you were just worried about me."

Sylphie looked up, slightly surprised by his understanding response.

"But…" Kael narrowed his eyes slightly, still smiling. "Try not to turn everything into a battlefield, alright? It really kills the mood."

He ruffled her white hair lightly, and Sylphie felt a warm, pleasant feeling in her chest.

"I'll do my best…" she murmured, leaning a little closer to him.

Kael watched her expression, the way her pointed ears twitched slightly, betraying that something was still bothering her. And then, a thought crossed his mind…

With a smile that bordered on mischievous, he closed his eyes and asked in a far-too-casual tone, "So… are you going to tell me who that guy with you was?"

Sylphie froze. Immediately, a chill ran down her spine. His tone was light, but something about the way he asked made all her instincts scream danger.

"H-h-h-he was no one!" she rushed to answer, gesturing nervously. "Just some idiot trying to get me to join the Student Council! I already told him no, but he keeps following me around!"

She let out a frustrated sigh before resting her head on Kael's shoulder, as if seeking refuge. "I don't want to be the representative of both elven races… If I accept, it'll cause a huge problem."

Kael relaxed a little, but his expression still held that amused glint. "Huh… so that's it?"

"That's it! I swear!" she said quickly, as if she owed him something.

"I see…" he murmured, running his fingers lightly through the tips of her hair.

Sylphie couldn't help but smile. 'Even after all this time, he still has this way of calming me down…'

But then, Kael opened one eye and shot her a slightly sharp look.

"But you do know that if this guy keeps bothering you… I can take care of it, right?" he said, and she immediately understood exactly what he meant.

Sylphie felt a different kind of shiver. Not of fear, but of a strange excitement.

She chuckled softly. "I don't think he'd survive if you decided to handle things your way..."

Kael shrugged, a relaxed smirk on his lips. "Can't promise anything."

Sylphie laughed quietly again, closing her eyes for a moment before murmuring:

"I missed you."

The words came naturally, carried by a sincerity that made Kael raise an eyebrow.

She sighed, thinking about the last few days she had spent at Elion's house. "And that crazy witch? How is she?"

Kael let out a short, nasal laugh, crossing his arms. "My mother is still the same. Never taught me magic and still wants to control what I can and can't learn." He shook his head, a mix of exasperation and fondness in his voice. "I never really understood her obsession, but…"

Sylphie tilted her head, her eyes narrowing slightly.

"She's way too possessive to be doing this without a reason, right?"

Kael looked at her, surprised by how accurate her comment was.

"Yeah..." he admitted, a sigh escaping him. "At least my grandmother taught me a lot over these past eight years."

Sylphie frowned slightly, thoughtful. "Eleonor Scarlet… I've seen her twice at my house."

Kael turned his face to her, curiosity shining in his amber eyes. "Hm? She went to the Elven Kingdom?"

"Yes. She makes monthly visits to help with the elves' alliance, mainly with magic-related matters," Sylphie explained, absentmindedly playing with her white hair.

She paused briefly before continuing, her expression growing a little embarrassed.

"According to my mother… Eleonor is an important advisor, but she's also dangerous. She loves to tease the elves with… well, with that body of hers."

Sylphie blushed slightly, recalling the few interactions she had with the renowned witch. Eleonor didn't just exude power—she had a magnetic presence, almost intimidating. Her pale skin contrasted with hair as red as burning embers, always flowing freely over her shoulders. Her crimson eyes were sharp and cunning, as if they could strip anyone of their secrets with a single glance.

And then there was her body…

Sylphie averted her gaze, pressing her legs together involuntarily as she remembered the woman's sculpted figure. Her clothes were never truly decent, always revealing more skin than necessary. The way she moved—confident and seductive—left everyone restless.

Kael, on the other hand, closed his eyes and let out a long sigh.

"Yeah… I understand the feeling..."

He recalled the countless times he had to bathe with his grandmother.

Even though he knew Eleonor was his relative, the sensation of being near her without clothes had always been… complicated.

That woman's body was simply dazzling.

Her ample breasts, always pressed against him without the slightest shame. The slender waist and perfectly sculpted curves that seemed handcrafted. The soft thighs that sometimes trapped him in unexpected embraces.

And, of course, the way she smirked mischievously whenever she noticed any sign of his embarrassment.

Kael shuddered, trying to push the memories away.

"That woman has no sense of boundaries…" he muttered, more to himself than anything.

Sylphie, watching his reaction, crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow.

"You seem… traumatized."

"Maybe a little."

She laughed, amused, before poking him lightly on the arm.

"Well, at least she taught you magic, right? Even if in a rather…" She paused, choosing her words carefully. "Unconventional way."

Kael rolled his eyes, but a small smirk tugged at the corners of his lips. "You have no idea…"

Silence settled between them for a few seconds, the only sound filling the air was the distant rustling of leaves swaying in the wind. Then, Sylphie unexpectedly broke the quiet.

"Aren't you going to introduce me to the little one at your side?"

Kael blinked, confused, not immediately understanding what she meant. He glanced around, searching for anything out of place, until he finally remembered the small Wyvern curled up on his shoulder.

"You can see her?" he asked, surprised. So far, only a handful of people seemed able to perceive Umbra clearly. Mizuki could, but that was likely because she was a Kitsune.

Sylphie smiled, her eyes twinkling with a hint of amusement.

"Kael, I'm the Dryad of the World Tree. How could I not see a part of it?" she replied as if it were obvious. "Ygg has already told me that he granted you a blessing."

He remained silent for a moment, processing that information. It made sense.

"I see…" he murmured, shifting his gaze to Umbra, who was now watching him with her piercing eyes.

The small Wyvern, realizing she was the center of attention, let out a soft huff before leaping from Kael's shoulder and landing gracefully in Sylphie's lap.

"Greetings, Guardian," Umbra said, her melodious voice echoing in both of their minds.

Before Sylphie could respond, the little creature curled up in her lap, nestling comfortably against her as if asking for affection.

Sylphie's eyes widened slightly, but she soon chuckled softly.

"How bold…" she murmured, running her fingers over Umbra's smooth scales. The Wyvern let out a low sound, almost like a satisfied purr.

Kael watched the scene with an ironic smirk.

"Traitor… I'm your master, and you're already throwing yourself into someone else's arms?"

Umbra half-opened one eye, gazing at Kael with an indifferent look.

"If it's for receiving head pats, I have no master. Only priorities," she declared solemnly before snuggling even further into the elf's lap.

Sylphie let out a crystalline giggle, running her fingers more gently between the Wyvern's delicate wings.

"She has good taste."

Kael could only sigh, shaking his head.

"I've been betrayed by a magical lizard…"

Not far away…

Amelia leaned against the stone wall of the main building, partially hidden by the shadows cast by the magical lights in the courtyard.

She hadn't meant to eavesdrop, but when she saw Kael and Sylphie sitting together on the bench, her feet simply stopped. Something inside her wouldn't let her turn around and walk away.

She watched in silence. She saw the way Sylphie smiled at him, the way Kael looked at her with that amused glint in his eyes…

Then Sylphie laughed. A genuine laugh, light, full of something Amelia couldn't quite describe.

And at that moment, she felt a strange tightness in her chest.

She couldn't explain it. It wasn't anger. It wasn't jealousy either. It was an uncomfortable sensation, as if something inside her was being squeezed—an unease she couldn't ignore.

Without realizing it, she let out a sigh. A sound almost inaudible, yet it echoed loudly within her.

She had no reason to stay there any longer.

Turning slowly, she tried to push away that suffocating feeling and walked off without looking back.
