Surviving in a School of Ghost Stories-Chapter 18
When I turned around, Erica's face was contorting, struggling to hold back her laughter.
Not only that, but the girls around us were all turning their heads. They were shaking with suppressed giggles.
"Got her good."
After finally swallowing her laughter, Erica spoke.
I could see the face of Sutherland’s young lady gradually turning as red as a tomato.
Just then, a voice was heard from the entrance of the lobby.
"Lady Sutherland! The items you requested have been purchased in the village!"
A girl in the same uniform as ours entered the dormitory lobby, carrying a mountain of items taller than her own height, walking precariously without dropping them.
‘She’s going to trip over at this rate.’
It looked dangerous. Right in front of Erica was a massive statue of Sister Gloria.
The girl, unable to see over her large load, was heading straight toward the statue and Erica.
I quickly stood in front of Erica and pulled her into my arms.
Sure enough, the girl tripped over her own feet and collided with the statue, sending all the items crashing down.
The statue tilted over, leaning directly over Erica and me.
CRASH!
Clank—
The statue hit me, shattering as it collided with my body. It hurt, but thankfully, I didn’t appear to ➤ NоvеⅠight ➤ (Read more on our source) be injured. I was lucky.
"AAAH!"
With the screams of the watching girls, people began to gather around. The ghosts, too, were startled, bouncing around nervously and clustering around me.
"Melody. Are you okay...?"
Erica, who was in my arms, looked at me with a surprised face and quickly checked my body.
"I'm fine."
I answered, but blood was still pouring from my nose.
Erica pulled a handkerchief from her pocket and pressed it to my nose.
The nosebleed didn’t stop. It was flowing far too much.
‘I’m getting dizzy.’
Half-conscious, I noticed that the cat's eyes in Erica’s embrace were changing from yellow to blue.
Huh?
I rubbed my eyes and looked again. They were yellow again.
Had I seen that wrong? It definitely changed to blue just now.
Hearing the commotion, the 2nd-year girls from the dormitory began to come down the stairs.
Sutherland’s family seemed flustered, scrambling around.
"What are you doing! Go get the doctor now!"
In an instant, Erica got furious. The girl who knocked over the statue immediately ran out of the dorm in a panic.
Students started whispering as they watched us.
"Oh my, what happened? Did you see? Lady Sutherland... and Lady Queensbury..."
"She really did it. She’s scarier than I thought."
"I knew she didn’t like Lady Queensbury, but to go that far..."
It seemed like most of the students here knew that Sutherland’s young lady hated Erica.
Sutherland’s face was filled with embarrassment. Her face turned red.
"I... I didn’t... I didn’t mean to... I wasn’t trying to do this..."
Her eyes welled up with tears as she stammered.
She bit her lip, looking like she was about to break down, before turning around and walking away from us.
‘Is she running away?’
However, she stopped in her tracks, wiping her tears away.
‘She’s crying?’
She’s just a kid. She was only eighteen, so it made sense.
Considering my age before the regression, I was older than these kids, so I just found it cute.
After taking a few deep breaths while still crying, Sutherland’s young lady turned back toward us and said:
"...This was an accident. I’ll make sure Lady Lumiere is given a warning. I didn’t intend for this to happen."
Then, she looked directly at me.
"You’ve got involved with Lady Queensbury for no reason and ended up getting hurt. Be careful, Lady Queensbury is a bit unlucky. And about the injury... I... I..."
It seemed like she didn’t want to say "sorry" at all.
Of course, it wasn’t something she needed to apologize for. After all, the one who knocked over the statue wasn’t her.
But Erica still glared at Sutherland’s young lady with fierce eyes and said:
"Say sorry properly after Melody is safely out of this."
As I watched the situation unfold with interest, I became a bit confused and blinked.
Huh? What?
"...Am I going to die?"
Erica, looking at the handkerchief pressed to my nose, said:
"I’m just worried. Your nosebleed hasn’t stopped."
Like she was handling a child, Erica pressed the handkerchief harder to my nose.
‘Wait a second. I can’t breathe.’
Meanwhile, the girls in the back started whispering.
Curious about what was going on, I grabbed the handkerchief from Erica’s hand and held it against my nose, lifting my head.
A man appeared walking toward us from the lobby of the girls’ dormitory.
With jet-black hair and blue eyes, his movements were elegant, and his handsome face stood out.
‘I feel like I’ve seen him somewhere... Wait?!’
It was the Student Council President. The man who had disguised himself as a postman and came to meet me in 903.
The same man who brought me to this time.
"Mr. Eglinton?!"
Sutherland’s young lady jumped in surprise and quickly stepped aside.
I never expected to meet the Student Council President so suddenly.
I stood there, looking at him in a daze as he walked closer.

Would he remember that we met in 903?
Of course, he wouldn’t.
From the indifferent expression on his face, I couldn’t read anything.
More students started gathering as the Student Council President appeared.
It seemed like the dormitory supervisor had just returned to the scene.
"My goodness, what’s going on? Are the students alright? And Mr. Eglinton, why are you here...?"
Hearing the supervisor’s words, the Student Council President politely bowed his head and replied:
"I was passing by, and it seemed like there was an urgent situation, so I came to help. I apologize for unintentionally breaking the rules."
"I see. Well then, Mr. Eglinton, could you take this student to the hospital?"
The supervisor casually handed me over to the Student Council President.
"May I be excused?"
He asked politely.
Excused? What kind of excused? I nodded absentmindedly.
Then, the Student Council President smiled faintly and swiftly picked me up in his arms.
