Talentless Extra Of The Legendary Hero Academy-Chapter 99: Small fries
Chapter 99: Small fries
They are trouble. They are all in class three, two Advancement Stages above Severin and the others.
Their leader is a brutish guy with yellow hair, his shirt rolled up to his elbows and a sneer on his lips. "So this is where you are, Severin Reignhart."
The atmosphere in the room became tense immediately because everyone knew those guys were there to cause trouble.
Severin straightened and stepped forward. His team formed behind him immediately. "Yes, I am Severin Reignhart."
This was not part of his calculations at all. Why did the training center let them in? His eyes twitched. He hated things that were not planned by him.
"Oh, are you now? Our little House Leader!" The leader grinned, and the team he brought with him snorted after him.
Severin studied them, and one thing he could figure out was that the guys were weak. Compared to others in their class, they must be at the very bottom, and they reeked of desperation.
"So they have chosen me and my House as a target, eh?"
"I am. What can I do for you?" Severin asked. But he knew what they wanted already. When he first created the House, they all thought it was a joke, but then the House did not collapse in the first month as they expected and was actually growing.
Now that the final year was only a few months away, everyone needed a straight path to resources. The House would only accept the strong.
But there was one House. A new lamb.
That was exactly what they wanted, and Severin was not planning to give them anything.
"I am Maelor," the leader pointed at himself. "This is Vexen, Eira, and Asgra. We are your new House members!"
Severin looked at them flatly. "Really? I cannot remember when you joined, though."
He spread his hands. "We are just joining. This is all of you, right? What a bunch of weaklings. Do not worry. I will take care of you from now on. You will not have to worry about anything!"
Severin acted as if he were thinking about it. Then he shook his head. "I will pass."
The reply shocked Maelor, the leader. He really thought that Severin would accept him with open arms. They were just a bunch of year ones, after all. They must be afraid and need a strong person on their team. "Why?"
But before Severin could reply, the one called Asgra, or was it Eira, butted in. Her eyes narrowed as she shoved her face into Severin’s. "Listen here, kid. We are taking over the House. You can hold the title for all we care, but we will be running things. All the dungeons in the House’s territory will be our own."
Julius adjusted his glasses. "Oh. They are here to take over the House."
Celia nodded. "That seems like a correct observation."
"Whatever shall we do?" Serena said and even did a little shudder.
"You guys," Derrick muttered.
Only Ethan stepped up to Severin’s side. His eyes narrowed back at the woman. "That is not really a convenient arrangement for us."
"And who is asking for your opinion?" she sneered.
Severin finally spoke again. He turned to Maelor, completely ignoring the woman. "Why? Because you guys are even weaker than me."
"Wait. What?"
"You are in class three, but you are the trash of the class." It really rubbed Severin the wrong way that they tried to force their way into his House.
"I wonder how you even managed to crawl your way up that high. You should have just continued crawling. Why do you have to stall your own progress?"
It was then that Maelor finally felt a lick of fear. He was not that stupid. There must be a reason that Severin and his team looked so confident.
No matter how strong, even the strongest of class one could hardly handle the weakest of class three. There was a large gap there, and it was not easy to fill.
So what gave them such confidence?
A throat cleared behind them, and in the brief silence in the room, it sounded like a sword clashing. The four class threes whirled around in surprise. They had passed the level where they should be sneaked up on.
"What?"
How did this person sneak up on them?
The person was dressed like a madman with overgrown hair and stained clothes. "Oh. Are you new members as well?"
Maelor could barely feel any presence from the man, which could only mean two things. He was so weak he was basically more human, or...
Suddenly, one of Maelor’s subordinates rushed forward. The girl snarled. "You are a member? A new one? He is accepting a weak bastard like this over us?"
Or he was just strong enough to hide his power. That level of power made Maelor twitch. "No! Leave him. Go back!"
It was already too late.
There was a loud cracking sound like tree branches breaking in two. But this one sounded harder, sharper. The sound of bones breaking was followed by a howling scream.
The girl’s two hands had been broken, straight in two, and they dangled limply. She stared at them as she continued to scream and shout.
"Wow. That is Instructor Ardent?" Celia whispered.
Maelor heard her. He heard her, and sweat covered his body. What was an insane Instructor doing here? He was not part of...
Quickly, Maelor fell to his knees. "Please, Instructor."
The instructor loomed over him and smiled. "Give me all your money."
He collected all the money they had and then broke their two hands as a warning.
The House Chains members watched them run out of the room, screaming in pain, and they did not know if they should pity them.
They had never seen an instructor so shameless.
But none could argue his power.
He had broken their fingers without even lifting a hand.
"Instructor Ardent. You are early," Severin noted.
Ardent shrugged. "I wanted to have the first impression of you guys, so I arrived even earlier to study you. I have not drunk anything since, so bring me something to drink."
Severin did, and then he introduced all the members. "What did you say?"
Ardent snorted, took a drink, and then released a big sigh. "Not too bad. I should be able to bend you guys into things resembling shapes."
