Chapter 36: Chapter 36: I’ll Take You Back

Munni hastily lowered her eyes, as if adjusting her emotions. The next moment when she raised her eyes, those alluring eyes bloomed with endless charm.

Her smile was very beautiful, her eyes curved into a lovely arc, the corners gently turned upwards, and a soft, watery gleam flowed between them.

Yuan Chengmo withdrew his hand, chuckling silently. In his heart, he unhesitatingly cursed Xu Yisen—what a blind fool, to let go of such a wonderful girl like his junior.

"Hey, your name is Yuan Chengmo, not Yuan Chatterbox. How come you always have so much nonsense to say? Can’t you be silent for once?"

There wasn’t a trace of dissatisfaction in her deliberately arrogant words, only a slight helplessness after Yuan Chengmo exposed the secret in her heart.

Yuan Chengmo laughed, raised both hands in surrender, and then mimed zipping his lips with his right hand, "I’ll keep my mouth shut."

Only then did Munni nod with satisfaction, imitating his gesture, gently reaching out to pat his head.

Having not seen each other for a long time, after lunch, they spent the whole day together and had dinner in the evening before heading to a bar for a few drinks.

Munni, perhaps too happy to see Yuan Chengmo, rarely got tipsy.

Yuan Chengmo intended to take her home, but she refused. She asked him to call a driving service for her and let the driver take her home.

The driver drove the car into the underground parking lot of the community. After parking, he turned around to see Munni in a light sleep on the backseat, unsure whether to wake her up.

Luckily, two minutes later, Munni slowly opened her eyes, a little drunk, "Are we there?"

"Yes, we are."

"Alright, thank you. You can leave now."

"Do you need assistance upstairs?"

"No, thanks."

Seeing her refusal, the driver didn’t insist, nodded, unbuckled his seatbelt, and got out of the car.

Sitting in the backseat, Munni rubbed her slightly aching temples. Just as she was about to reach out to open the door, she found the door had opened automatically, and there was someone standing outside.

She instinctively frowned, squinting slightly to look up at the person standing outside.

The parking lot’s bright lights shone on the person’s face, making it almost translucent. When Munni looked up, all she saw was a dazzling white light, unable to see the person’s face clearly.

Seeing her frowning slightly, staring at him in confusion, with her delicate eyes showing a tipsy gleam, Yisen realized she was quite drunk.

"Why did you drink so much?"

Hearing the voice, Munni understood who was standing outside the car.

She picked up her bag beside her, slowly got out of the car.

After getting out and closing the door, Munni, with her drunken eyes, cast Yisen a sidelong glance, not answering his question, but instead asking, "What are you doing here?"

"I have something to discuss with you."

Munni turned and walked towards the elevator, her steps slow, slightly unsteady.

As she walked, she asked, "What is it?"

Yisen walked by her side, amused and a bit surprised to see her rare inebriated state, "I’ll accompany you back."

Munni intended to refuse his company, just as she had declined Cheng Mo and the driving service driver earlier.

However, for some reason, her head nodded uncontrollably, and she heard her voice softly saying, "Alright."

Seeing her nod and hearing her respond, Yisen suddenly halted, a bewildered expression on his face.
