The Billionaire CEO Betrays his Wife: He wants her back-Chapter 93: Everyone is losing it
Chapter 93: Everyone is losing it
Mara clenched her fists, barely holding back her anger, she needed to keep some boundaries between their friendship. Celeb was getting too bold around her.
She forced a smile as she watched Miss Bella return a warm smile in return, but the moment the door closed behind her, she turned her fiery gaze on Celeb.
The nerve of him.
Barging into her office like he had a right to question her. As if she owed him an explanation. Which she didn’t.
"You don’t get to barge into my office and demand answers from me," she snapped. "What is wrong with everyone lately?" Her voice rose, her patience wearing thin. "Just. Get. Out!"
"What Stef, can’t you see that woman only wants you to forgive her stupid son? You are smarter than this to be entertaining his mother." Celeb said raising his voice making Mara even more furious.
"Don’t you ever raise your voice at me now get the hell out of my office and don’t you dare batch into my office like that ever again. I don’t answer to anyone much less you," Mara said.
Celeb’s jaw tightened. He hadn’t expected her to lash out like that.
After everything they had been through, was he really nothing more than an inconvenience to her? Just some bother she could dismiss?
His face hardened. Without another word, he turned on his heel and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
The sound echoed through the office, but Mara barely noticed.
A sharp pang shot through her, and she instinctively held her belly, closing her eyes and taking slow, deep breaths.
"Oh, baby... I wish I could settle all this chaos before you’re born." She let out a shaky sigh. "It’s really loud out here, isn’t it?"
Lowering herself into her chair, she let her hand rest on her stomach. She wasn’t just fighting for herself anymore. Her phone buzzed, pulling her from her thoughts. Stefan.
She hesitated before answering, but the second she heard his voice, she felt a little lighter.
"How’s my stubborn sister?" he teased.
Mara rolled her eyes. "Busy, annoyed, and officially done with today."
Stefan chuckled. "That sounds about right. Just don’t forget you’re pregnant, okay? Maybe slow down for a second?"
Mara smiled despite herself. "I hear you, Doctor Shepherd."
"Good. Now, do something relaxing before you stress yourself into early labor."
For once, she actually listened.
A change of scenery. That’s what she needed.
Her gaze flickered to Vera, who was organizing some files at the other desk.
Mara suddenly grinned. "You know what? I think I will take a break."
Vera looked up, suspicious. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Because you’re coming with me."
"Where?"
"Baby shopping," Mara declared, already grabbing her bag.
Vera’s eyes widened. "Now? In the middle of the workday?"
"Yes! We need a distraction. And you’re pregnant too besides it’s about time we get to know each other better."
Vera hesitated, then smiled. Laughing, Mara pulled Vera along, heading toward the car.
The mall was filled with soft pastel colors, tiny shoes, and plush toys, but Vera’s heart wasn’t in it.
Mara, on the other hand, was practically glowing as she held up a tiny onesie.
"Look at this, Vera! Isn’t it adorable?" she gushed, placing it against her own stomach as if imagining her baby in it.
Vera forced a small smile. "Yeah, it’s cute."
But the truth was, she wasn’t excited about baby shopping well not the way Mara was.
Her circumstances were different. Her pregnancy wasn’t something she had planned... or wanted. Even though Mara hadn’t planned to get pregnant just like Vera it was with the man she loved well used to love and still love whatever her baby was an act of love but Vera wasn’t so fortunate which is why Mara kind of saw herself in her.
Mara noticed her hesitation and gently nudged her. "Pick something for your baby."
Vera hesitated, fingers brushing over a soft yellow outfit, but she quickly withdrew her hand. "I don’t know... I’m not sure what I need."
Mara saw through the excuse, but she didn’t push. Instead, she picked up the outfit herself and tossed it into the shopping cart. "Then let’s start with this. No pressure, okay?"
Vera swallowed the lump in her throat. "Okay."
They spent the next hour going through racks of baby clothes, picking out little socks, blankets, and stuffed animals. Mara’s excitement was infectious, and after a while, Vera found herself smiling a real smile.
By the time they were done, both women were exhausted.
Mara stretched, letting out a dramatic sigh. "Shopping should count as exercise."
Vera chuckled. "I think we earned a break."
Mara glanced at her. "There’s a hotel nearby. We could get a room and rest for a bit before heading back."
Vera nodded. "That sounds good."
With the bodyguards trailing behind them, they made their way to the hotel, their arms filled with shopping bags. For a little while, the weight of their pasts didn’t seem so heavy.

Celeb paced the hotel room, running a frustrated hand through his hair. Mara’s words still echoed in his head, sharp and cutting, reminding him that no matter what he did, she always seemed to push him away.
Lucy sat on the edge of the bed, arms crossed, just as angry. "Ethan knows the truth," she muttered. "And yet, he hasn’t done anything. He hasn’t exposed me, hasn’t thrown me out, nothing. I don’t understand it."
Celeb let out a bitter chuckle. "Maybe he’s playing a game just like Stef. Acting like I don’t exist."
Lucy scoffed. "We’ve done too much for them to act like we’re nothing."
The tension between them crackled like a fire waiting to ignite. freewёbnoνel.com
Celeb’s gaze darkened as he looked at her, his jaw tight with frustration. "Take off your dress," he said, his voice low and rough.
Lucy arched a brow. "Oh, please," she scoffed, but when he pulled his shirt over his head, she understood. This wasn’t about love. It was about control. About forgetting about drowning in something that burned hotter than their anger.
She smirked and lifted her mini skirt slightly, giving him a glimpse of what he craved. His patience snapped.
In a blur, he was on her, hands gripping her waist, lips crushing against hers in a heated clash of frustration and need. She gasped against his mouth, her fingers tangling in his hair as he pushed her back onto the bed, his weight pressing her down.
Their breaths came out in ragged pants as clothes fell to the floor, their bodies moving with an urgency that had nothing to do with tenderness and everything to do with escape. Celeb’s lips trailed down her neck, his hands mapping the curves of her body, claiming, possessing.
Lucy arched against him, nails digging into his back as she whispered Ethan’s name, her voice laced with both defiance and desire.
For now, anger melted into heat, resentment into pleasure.
Celeb and Lucy stepped out of the hotel room, clothes hastily adjusted, neither speaking. Their tryst had dulled the sharp edge of their anger, but only for a moment.
Just a few walks from their hotel suite, Celeb’s mind replayed Mara’s cold rejection, fueling a fire that still burned inside him. His jaw clenched, his fists tightened. It wasn’t enough.
Without thinking, he grabbed Lucy’s wrist and yanked her against him.
"Hey," she whispered, startled. "We’re outside someone could see us."
Celeb didn’t care. His grip tightened as he pressed her back against the cool wall of the hallway. His breath was hot against her ear. "And since when do you care about being seen?" he muttered.
Lucy smirked, but before she could protest, he had already pushed her skirt higher.
"Not here," she hissed, though the thrill of it made her body hum with anticipation.
Celeb ignored her, his hands sliding between her thighs. A wicked grin played on his lips when he realized she hadn’t put her underwear back on. "You really make this too easy," he growled.
With one swift motion, he freed himself from his zipper, and before she could utter another word, he was inside her. Lucy gasped, fingers digging into his shoulders as she fought to keep quiet. His movements were rough, and punishing, his pace fueled by frustration.
Her back hit the wall with every thrust, her breaths ragged against his neck. She bit her lip to muffle a moan, the risk of being caught heightening the intensity.
"Still worried about being seen?" he teased, his voice thick with desire.
Lucy barely managed to shake her head, surrendering to the pleasure.
Just as they teetered on the edge, lost in the heat of the moment, a sharp intake of breath broke through the haze.
Their movements stilled.
Both turned their heads only to lock eyes with the last person they ever wanted to see like this. A tense, heavy silence filled the air, thicker than the lust that had consumed them moments before.
