The CEO's Billion Dollar Bride-Chapter 64 - 65. Her Story
Chapter 64: 65. Her Story
Chapter 64: 65. Her Story
“Senior, have you made a mistake? How could our Aretha Family be connected to this seemingly impossible primary forest?”
Ivy Aretha felt a headache coming on and subconsciously assumed that Fabian Nala was deliberately trying to compete with Michael Gordon.
Competition between wealthy families was normal, and mutual dislike was common. Fabian Nala had recently been involved in the entertainment industry; as a newcomer, being suppressed by Michael Gordon was normal. He needed to find a breakthrough to elevate himself to a new level. Too normal!
However, Ivy didn’t quite agree with Fabian Nala choosing her as the pawn in his game.

“How could I be mistaken about your affairs?”
Fabian Nala said indifferently, his eyes sweeping across Michael Gordon’s darkened face with a provocative tone. “Also, Ivy, the man beside you isn’t right for you. You’d better stay away from him!”
Stay away?
Who did this man think he was, telling his woman to stay away from him?
Subconsciously, Michael Gordon had already claimed the woman before him as his own, even though he had only found out that she had a child that very morning.
Michael’s face was dark, his eyes bloodshot, and his whole body emanated malice. It all concentrated on Ivy’s hands. She felt as if her waist was about to be crushed.
“Senior, you misunderstood…”
“Indeed, I misunderstood!” Ivy’s words were abruptly cut off by Michael’s cold voice. His usually lazy tone was now fraught with ice. “We already moved in together last night, and even slept together. Isn’t it a bit late for her to stay away from me now?”
Moved in together? Slept together?
Fabian Nala’s face immediately became crestfallen. Looking at Ivy, he saw a faint blush on her face but no attempt to explain. Could it be…?
No, she wasn’t like that. In all the time she had been with Randy Stones, they had barely even held hands. Yet she had only known Michael for a few days!
“So what if we’ve slept together? There are plenty of men and women who’ve slept together and then parted ways in this world. You’re just one of them…”
“Lina, what’s wrong with you?”
Fabian Nala’s words were abruptly interrupted by a piercing scream. Turning his head, he saw Lina Miller slump to the ground, caught by someone behind her.
“Lina!” Fabian Nala was startled, immediately carrying her in his arms. “Quick, where’s the doctor? Come and see what’s wrong with her!”
“Mr. Gordon, should we continue going inside?”
Macken Young, who accompanied them, asked nervously. He had thought Mrs. Gordon would come along, but the woman turned out to be the one Michael had taken. But it wasn’t his place to worry about that!
“No need, let’s go back and sign the contract directly!”
Michael Gordon didn’t want Fabian to get ahead of him. He glanced at Lina, who was being carried away by Fabian, and then looked down at Ivy’s tired face. And with a low laugh, he said, “It seems your senior really has your best interests at heart!”
Ha!
“Certainly!” Ivy looked up at him, with her eyes sparkling. “Who else has such great charm as me?”
Michael Gordon: “…”
This woman was arrogant and narcissistic enough!
But… he liked it! She was more than worthy of him!
“You have such great charm?” Michael pulled her along as they walked, gesturing for her to look at the woman being examined by the doctor. “Is your charm as great as hers?”
It was clear that Lina was pretending to faint. Even he, who was standing so far away, could tell she was faking it. Fabian, who was so close to her, hadn’t noticed – likely because he was too nervous. He cared deeply for her!
But Fabian probably didn’t even know it himself!
“How is she?” Fabian Nala frowned at the doctor. “How could she faint like this?”
“Young Master Jensen, we’ve examined Miss Miller and found her to be in no serious danger. She probably has low blood sugar. She should be fine after a bit of rest!” the doctor replied nervously while looking at Fabian Nala. But in his heart, he thought: You’ve just been fighting over a woman with Mr. Gordon, and now you’re concerned about Miss Miller!
Low blood sugar?
When did she have this problem? How come he didn’t know?
Fabian Nala glanced at Lina and allowed the attendants to carry her into the tent they had set up. He coldly said, “Those who are supposed to film, keep filming. I didn’t go to all this trouble just to invite you here to watch a show!”
After carrying Lina into the tent, he immediately saw her closed eyelashes trembling. He understood instantly!
“Everyone’s gone. You can stop pretending now!”
Upon hearing his voice, Lina abruptly opened her eyes, her gaze inadvertently meeting Fabian Nala’s deep stare. Face-to-face, Lina, who had always been known for her perfect acting skills, couldn’t hold on any longer!
“I’m sorry, I…”
“Don’t bother; I know what you’re thinking!”
Fabian Nala cut her off and placed her down on the ground in the tent, sitting down himself. “After all these years, don’t you think I know what kind of person you are?”
This woman was gentle and quiet, always thinking things through. In this situation, there was no point in him confronting Michael Gordon. By pretending to faint, all she wanted was to give him a way out!
“Then what kind of person am I?”
A question she hadn’t dared to ask for years suddenly surfaced. She already knew that asking could jeopardize the long-established collaboration between them. But she just couldn’t help it!
Just as Lina thought he wouldn’t answer, Fabian Nala replied pensively, “The most perfect woman in my heart!”
The most perfect woman?
But she wished to be imperfect in his heart because then, he would be compelled to make her perfect!
Lina stared at him intently, tears welling up in her eyes. After years of avoiding it, she finally asked: “And what about her?”
“The woman I love the most!”
Though Lina had braced herself for it, Fabian’s determined admission wounded her deeply!
“Haha, I knew it – just fishing for answers!”
Lina gave a self-mocking laugh and stood up to leave the tent. However, her head felt heavy, and her consciousness was somewhat hazy, causing her steps to falter.
Sensing her weak state, Fabian Nala immediately pressed her down to lie on the ground: “Why didn’t you tell me about your low blood sugar? What were you doing here trying to prove?”
Her face was pale. Although she was only pretending to faint, her condition was indeed terrible. She was on the verge of fainting for real!
“Didn’t you just need someone? I happened to be free!” Lina smiled indifferently. “I never pass up on a chance to make money; you know that!”
