Chapter 40 -40: Sharing a Room with Him_1
Xia Qingtian looked at Bo Jingyan’s retreating figure with a heart full of reproach, her mood sinking with frustration as she returned to her office, feeling melancholy for her upcoming unpredictable business trip.
Bo Jingyan will certainly take his assistants along on his business trip, right?
It can’t be just her alone.
As she thought about the probability of others accompanying them, Xia Qingtian’s turbulent heart calmed down slightly, no longer so tangled.
Anyway, she was only responsible for his meals, and nothing else!

…
The next day.
Xia Qingtian soon felt naive for her thoughts the previous day.
She hurriedly took a ride from home to the airport early in the morning.
Once on the plane, she quickly noticed something unusual.
Why were the only people around her and Bo Jingyan?
“Mr. Bo, where are the others?”
Xia Qingtian sat opposite him and asked quizzically.
He won’t avoid taking his subordinates on a business trip, right…
Why hadn’t she seen a single assistant?
“Who?” Bo Jingyan was busy flipping through data on his tablet. Hearing her voice, he looked up at her indifferently.
“Your assistant didn’t come with us?” Xia Qingtian asked.
“No.” Bo Jingyan answered coolly, his stern face revealing no emotion.
Upon hearing this, Xia Qingtian was instantly perturbed.
What did he mean?
Did it mean that she was the only one accompanying him on this trip?!
Would she have to spend more than half a month alone with Bo Jingyan?!
Seeing Xia Qingtian suddenly falling silent, Bo Jingyan looked up to find her looking stunned. His brow furrowed slightly, his voice somewhat displeased, he said,”What, do you need three or four assistants just to cook lunch?”
What was she afraid of, he wouldn’t abandon her.
Xia Qingtian stoically shook her head and slowly placed her hand on the seatbelt, planning to unbuckle it and escape!
Reading her intentions, Bo Jingyan glanced at her fidgeting action and announced a warning out of the blue, “Xia Qingtian, don’t even think of escaping, or I will throw you off the plane midair!”
Xia Qingtian instantly froze in her actions and mumbled a laugh awkwardly, withdrawing her hand, she said with an embarrassed grin, “Mr. Bo, you sure love to joke.”
Bo Jingyan glanced at her coldly and continued to focus on his tablet, ignoring her.
With the flight attendant’s sweet voice announcing that the plane was about to take off…
…the last sliver of hope in Xia Qingtian’s heart was crushed.
She slouched resignedly in her seat, looking woebegone as she gazed out off the porthole, her face full of gloom.
After a six-hour flight, the plane landed at Capital Airport in H Country by four in the afternoon.
Carrying her luggage, Xia Qingtian followed Bo Jingyan off the plane and immediately took a car to their lodgings.
The car turned onto a long road flanked by lush trees. The climate and environment of H Country were excellent.
Xia Qingtian leaned against the car window, looking at the scenery outside, her expression slightly weary.
After a day of arduous journey, she and Bo Jingyan were both tired.
As they drove forward, a massive Medieval Castle gradually came into view. The doorman opened the heavy iron gate and bowed to them.
This was the affluent area of H Country.
The car finally stopped outside a Medieval-style villa.
As they got out, an elderly man in a tailcoat and with grey hair came towards them. The old man seemed to have difficulty walking, his gait somewhat unsteady.
The old man went to Bo Jingyan, greeting him in the local language with a smile.
“Mr. Bo.”
Bo Jingyan nodded, looked at Xia Qingtian indifferently and said coldly, “He’s the butler here.”
Usually, Bo Jingyan would stay at home.
He wouldn’t be here in this house more than a few times a year, so the villa had only the old man to take care of it.
The butler, on seeing Xia Qingtian, immediately turned to her and greeted her as well.
Xia Qingtian smiled in response, although she didn’t completely understand what the butler was saying.
This was because she didn’t speak the local language of H Country.
Entering the villa.
Xia Qingtian thought the interior decor was classically elegant. The walls had fireplaces, large rugs covered wooden floors, all very Nordic, giving a very warm feeling upon entering.
Bo Jingyan did not stay downstairs for long. After setting down his luggage, he went upstairs to attend to work.
He had an important meeting at the local branch office the next morning and needed to confirm the contents of the meeting in advance.
After the butler showed Xia Qingtian to her room and gave a few instructions, he left.
That evening, the sky turned dark relatively early.
Considering that she had to get up early and make breakfast for Bo Jingyan, Xia Qingtian merely tidy up a bit before going to bed.
On the first night in a foreign land, her night was dreamless.
The next day.
The sunlight trickled gently into the room, illuminating Xia Qingtian’s sleeping face. Then suddenly, the ringing of her cellphone woke her up.
She slowly opened her eyes, sat up on the bed and with a glance outside the window realized it was already morning. She immediately threw off the blankets and got out of bed.
After a quick wash, Xia Qingtian changed into casual clothes and went downstairs.
She went straight to the kitchen, ready to make breakfast for Bo Jingyan.
When she opened the fridge, the look on her face marveled at what she saw.
Only two single eggs were inside the massive fridge. There were no other ingredients.
It looked like she needed to make a trip to the grocery store first.
Xia Qingtian closed the fridge door, gathered her belongings, picked up the shopping basket and her phone, found the closest grocery store on her phone, and went out the door.
Following the directions on her phone, she arrived at the grocery store.
Xia Qingtian went straight in and bought a heap of vegetables that Bo Jingyan liked to eat. It was enough for a week. This way, she wouldn’t have to go out to buy groceries every other day.
After finishing shopping and carrying two large bags out of the supermarket, Xia Qingtian took out her phone, planning to follow the navigation home. However, the screen of her phone suddenly flickered for two seconds before totally going black!
Fuck!
In her rush to leave in the morning, she’d forgotten to charge her phone!
Xia Qingtian was in dismay. Holding her dead phone, she felt completely lost.
What now?
She didn’t know the roads and had gone to bed early the previous night before she’d had a chance to memorize Bo Jingyan’s villa’s address.
How was she supposed to get back?
Carrying her shopping bags, Xia Qingtian walked along the roadside, moving forward and suddenly noticed a friendly-looking middle-aged man at the crossroad. After hesitating for a long time, she mustered her courage and went forward to say hello.
Due to the language barrier, Xia Qingtian could only gesture to explain her current predicament and asked to borrow his phone to make a phone call.
Once the man understood, he quickly agreed and handed her his phone.
Xia Qingtian thanked him profusely, took the phone, and directly entered Bo Jingyan’s phone number.
Thankfully, she’d thought taken a page out of caution and memorized Bo Jingyan’s mobile number before leaving.
Little did she anticipate it being of use so soon!
Meanwhile, on the other end.
Bo Jingyan was sitting in a large conference room surrounded by sharp-dressed men. A middle-aged blonde man was currently presenting a report.
He sat listening expressionlessly.
All of a sudden…
“Ring, ring, ring…”
The phone rang untimely.
The man talking paused and turned to look at Bo Jingyan.
Bo Jingyan gestured for him to continue.
He then picked up the phone and saw an unfamiliar local number. His brow furrowed slightly, streaks of curiosity flashing in his eyes.
He pressed the button on his Bluetooth headset and quickly answered the call.
“Mr. Bo, it’s me, Xia Qingtian!” As soon as the call was connected, Xia Qingtian quickly identified herself, anxious that he’d hang up. She hesitantly asked, “I’m lost… can you come and pick me up?”
