Chapter 53 - Serafall

"How strong is your magic?" I asked bluntly, staring at Velrissa.

"Huh?" Velrissa blinked in response, looking curiously at me. "Um... strong? What do you mean?"

"Would it work on a Maou?" I pressed. The former Succubus Queen had managed to charm Benemue, though the Cadre-ranked fallen angel was definitely a big step below Serafall.

I couldn't know just how strong Serafall was for sure, but I estimated that she was probably around the same strength as Tiamat without [Karma Control].

"For a bit, maybe," Velrissa shrugged unhelpfully, "It would depend on their mental strength more than their magical aptitude, so it's possible. But, they'd probably be able to break through the charm pretty quickly."

"Not a charm," I grinned widely at her, causing Velrissa to look at me confusedly.

"I hope you're a good actor, because we need to fool a Leviathan."

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Serafall Leviathan," I called out casually, sitting on the edge of the tall wall surrounding my territory.

[Ultimate-Class Devil] [Serafall Leviathan] - Level 800

Reputation with [Serafall]: Disliked

Serafall took the new spot of the highest level person I had seen, as she was even stronger than Tiamat. Of course, Tiamat could become far stronger with [Karma Control], so she wasn't actually the strongest.

"Beast King!" Serafall shouted back up, the Maou looking quite professional. Instead of her usual magical girl outfit, she was wearing a formal black shirt, which had a pink bow right between the outline of her rather large breasts, along with a loose skirt covering her thick bottom.

Despite the glare in her eyes and her stony expression, the woman still managed to be incredibly cute.

"I see you came alone," I hummed, looking out at the large grassy plains where the woman was standing. Considering how barren it was, it would've been impossible for someone to be hiding where I couldn't spot them.

Of course, the situation wasn't completely in the clear yet. I raised my hand, and a blue glow shimmered next to me as the human form of Tiamat appeared.

"Tia-tan!" Serafall shouted up as Tiamat appeared, though her stiff expression betrayed the kind greeting.

"Leviathan," Tiamat merely smirked in response. I had learned over the past few months that the Maou were more friendly with Tiamat than she was with them, as she viewed most of them as annoyances.

"Block the whole area," I ordered her casually, and Tiamat nodded. Her eyes glowed a bright blue, and Serafall stiffened in response.

It seemed the Maou was even more experienced with magic than Katerea, as she had noticed the teleportation-blocking boundary that Tiamat set up.

"Where's my sister?" Serafall didn't question the move, instead glaring a bit harder at me.

"You thought I'd just bring her out here?" I raised an eyebrow at her with a chuckle, "What if you had brought an army with you? She's waiting at my palace."

"Bring her here," Serafall huffed out, still glaring at me, though it looked more cute than intimidating despite her immense power, "You can see I'm alone, right? And you just blocked off the teleportation circles!"

"No, I think you'll come with me instead," I countered casually, "It's a bit scary to bring my hostage all the way out here, y'know? What if your comrades are hiding nearby?"

"It's equally as scary to walk into an unknown enemy's territory," Serafall shot back.

"Well, you don't have to," I said with a smirk, "If you don't want to come with me, you're more than welcome to leave. Though I can't guarantee what might happen to your sister..."

I held all the power here, and we both knew it. If Serafall wasn't willing to enter my territory and just left, then I still had Sona as a hostage. But Serafall didn't have the same safety net, as she didn't know my personality.

She had no way of knowing if I would make good on my threat of killing Sona. Of course, I had no intention of killing the Sitri heiress, but she couldn't know that.

"Besides," I added on as Serafall still looked a bit hesitant, "I know just how little danger you'll actually be in. You could just blow up my whole kingdom if you wanted to."

Serafall's magic was a bit of a problem, as the woman was strong enough to literally freeze over my massive territory with barely any effort. Tiamat could've contained her with [Karma Control], but the damage to my new kingdom would've already been done.

That was why I was taking a bit of a manipulative approach with Serafall, as opposed to just trying to take her down in a fight after luring her here. Even if Tiamat and I combined could defeat her, the collateral damage was too much of a cost.

Let it be known - I have no intention of giving up Sona, but I have every intention of taking Serafall for myself.

"...Fine," Serafall sighed, though she didn't look happy about it. A pair of black leathery wings shot out from her back, and she quickly floated up to the wall and landed next to me and Tiamat.

"Thanks," I hummed as I stood up, turning my back to the woman as I pointed ahead, "She's not far."

The three of us quickly left the edge of my territory, shooting forward through the forest at supernaturally quick speeds. Despite the pace we were moving, Serafall still managed to have a short conversation with Tiamat behind me.

"Why are you doing this, Tia-tan?" She whispered-shouted to the dragon behind me, "You know we can't just let this slide by..."

"I don't expect you to," Tiamat merely chuckled, "I thought that was pretty obvious. I'm done heeding the commands of lowly devils."

"We weren't commanding you! It was an agreement!" Serafall countered, frowning at her lightly, "We had a good relationship!"

"The 'agreement' was to leave me alone, and I would leave you alone," Tiamat growled back, "You can thank your other Maou for overstepping that agreement. Forcing me to act like a baby sitter for annoying brats, mediating Rating Games... Do you think my pride would allow that forever?"

"But it'll allow you to follow this random guy who showed up out of nowhere?!" Serafall huffed back, "Seriously, Aju-chan said you even became a familiar!"

"I can do whatever I want," Tiamat hissed, her eyes narrowing at Serafall, "And he's not some 'random guy!' You were always friendly to me, so I'll give you one last piece of advice. Put some more respect on my Master's name, or you'll find yourself being forced to."

I was kind of touched that Tiamat felt the need to defend me, but I kind of wish she hadn't. Serafall taking me lightly would only work in my favor for my plan.

"We're here," I cut their conversation short as we arrived at my palace, leaving Serafall looking wearily at Tiamat. "She's inside. Follow me."

As we entered my home, Serafall's eyes widened as she started to see the show I had set up for her. All the devils who were staying there were gone, as I had sent them to train more, and she was instead greeted by the blank-faced nuns hollowly cleaning the first room.

They were dressed in skimpy nun outfits, and their blank expressions and hollow eyes made it clear to Serafall what was going on. She stiffened, glancing away from them as her face hardened, but she didn't say anything.

Of course, I hadn't been responsible for the nuns being mentally unsound - in fact, I was actually doing the opposite, as I was supporting Adalina in her attempt to help them return to normal - nor the outfits, which they had already been wearing under the thick robes Diodora had left them wearing.

But Serafall didn't know that. Instead, she wandered into my house to find a group of historically famous nuns turned into mind-broken maids.

I made sure to walk past them slowly, letting Serafall's mind wander to the state I might've left her sister in.

As we walked into the next room, we were blocked by three naked women.

"M-My apologies, Your Highness," Shera bowed submissively, stepping to the side to let us pass, "P-Please forgive me for blocking your way..."

Layna and Runa did the same, both staring at me nervously and in mock fear as they fell to their knees.

"I'll deal with you three later," I growled, causing the three women to inhale fearfully.

Obviously, they weren't actually afraid. If I ever really threatened to punish the three women, they'd probably just cheer. They also walked around the palace nude most of the time anyway - I wasn't forcing them to do anything, and they definitely weren't afraid to block my path into a room.

In fact, I'd say they were less than afraid, considering how often Shera's naked form 'accidentally' bumped into me around the house.

But Serafall didn't need to know that - instead, she just needed to think that I was forcing naked women to fearfully humiliate themselves within my own home. In reality, I had just asked them to stand around and act afraid when we came inside.

Behind me, Serafall kept her eyes boring into my head and didn't even glance at the three women, but I knew she had seen them. The air around us seemed to grow a bit colder, and her hand clenched into a fist.

"She's just down here," I waved over my shoulder as we approached a small staircase in the corner of the next room. I had this basement made specifically for this plan, so I hope it works.

"Hah! Take that, sister of that fake bitch!" As I pushed open the door at the bottom of the staircase, we stepped into a prison-like room. There was a row of cells lining the basement floor, with a single flickering lamp hanging overhead.

Inside the nearest cell was the source of the voice - one Katerea Leviathan, who was holding up her staff with a sadistic look on her face.

"A-Ah! No more, please!" On the cell under her was a naked Sona Sitri, who was covered in blood and bruises as she looked up at Katerea with fear in her eyes.

As Serafall's breath hitched behind me, and the room turned icy cold, I knew the plan had worked. The sight of her sister being tor-

"Ah! Oh no! Don't use your magic on me again!" Sona groaned, rolling around and flopping around the cell like a fish, the woman's face blushing and becoming nervous as we entered, "I-I would, um, h-hate that! It h-hurts so much!"

I stared at 'Sona' blandly as she stuttered, obviously making up each line on the spot. In reality, it was Velrissa using [Appearance Disguise] to look like Sona Sitri, but it looked like she got stage fright as we entered the prison area.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! Take that, you Sitri scum! I'll give you another dose of pain for every year that fake bitch sister of yours held the title that was mine!" By comparison, Katerea looked a little too into her role.

I had just told her to stand menacingly and wave around her wand a bit, but the woman was flushed full on with a sadistic look on her face. Apparently, even just roleplaying with the fake Sona was too much for her.

I resisted letting out a groan of annoyance. My whole plan to trick Serafall into believing I was really treating her sister this way was out the window, and it was all because Velrissa sucked at acting! Seriously, there was no way Serafall was going to buy-

"S-SONA!" Serafall screamed loudly, raising her hand as the room was filled with a thick coldness while icicles formed on the ceiling, "DAMN IT! I'LL KILL ALL OF THEM AND SAVE YOU, SONNNNAAAAA!"

I barely resisted deadpanning as Serafall was flushed, tears forming in her eyes as she glared hatefully at the sight of her 'sister' being harmed.

It seemed that Serafall seeing her sister so injured was enough to make her not question it, even if said sister was obviously not acting like she normally would and didn't even look to be in danger.

Well, I guess it did work.

"W-Wait, Onee-chan!" 'Sona' stared up at Serafall, then pointed at her sole piece of clothing - a black collar around her neck, "I-If you do anything..."

"That's right," I nodded, quickly composing myself from my shock at Serafall buying Velrissa's terrible acting. I raised my hand, holding my fingers in a snapping motion.

"That collar is connected to my magic. If I snap my fingers, your sister's head will be blown off," I said bluntly, watching as Serafall glared at me with wide eyes. "Do you think you can freeze me before that happens, Leviathan?"

"N-No way..." Serafall huffed, taking a step back from me as she looked nervously at Sona, "So-tan! Your Onee-chan is here! I'll get you out of here! I'll..."

"O-Onee-chan..." 'Sona' nodded gratefully, then motioned at me with a 'hurry up' gesture as Serafall looked away from her. It seemed that Velrissa didn't think the [Appearance Disguise] would trick Serafall for much longer.

"Let her go," Serafall turned to me, glaring, "I'll take her place, alright?! That was the deal, so let my So-tan go!"

"I will," I nodded with a smirk, "It's just... I need some insurance that you won't try to blow up my whole kingdom once she's gone."

"Insurance?" Serafall growled, "What do you want?!"

"Just this," I grinned widely.

[Valon] [Beast King] has offered a [Master-Slave Contract!]

[Master: Valon]

[Slave: Serafall]

Serafall's eyes went wide as the magic washed over her, her fist clenching, "You want to make a contract like that with me?! After what you just did to So-tan?! I'll never-"

"O-Onee-chan... it, uh, um, hurts so much!" 'Sona' shouted, bringing Serafall's gaze back to her, "P-Please, um, help me!"

Seriously, how the hell did Velrissa mess up 'Please help me'? It's three words!

"S-So-tan..." Serafall trailed off, her palm starting to bleed from how tightly her fist was clenched. She obviously wanted to help Sona, but knew she couldn't because of the 'explosive collar' - which was really just a normal collar.

"If you don't want to help her, fake bitch, that's fine by me!" Katerea grinned widely, raising her staff again threateningly at 'Sona,' "I'd love to see how much it takes before this bitch sister of yours breaks..."

"D-Damn it..." It was finally too much for Serafall as she looked around the room helplessly, unsure of how to save Sona.

"One last chance," I raised my fingers again, smirking as I threatened to snap them, "Accept."

"D-Damn it! I'll save So-tan no matter what..." Serafall hissed out, looking unhappy as she raised her hand and accepted the magic that was trying to connect with her.

[Serafall] [Ultimate-Class Devil] has become a [Subordinate]!

[Subordinate Tier]: [Slave]

"Great work, girls," I said easily, grinning as the contract was made.

"Damn, that was close," Velrissa sighed, standing up as the [Appearance Disguise] faded away. The blood and bruises on her body disappeared, and gone was Sona Sitri, with a naked Velrissa standing in her place.

"Aw, we're done already?" Katerea frowned, looking a bit disappointed.

"W-Wait So-tan... you're not..." Serafall trailed off confusedly, her eyes going wide as she realized she had been tricked.

"Happens to the best of us," I said casually, grinning as I patted a hand on her shoulder, "Welcome to my kingdom, Serafall Leviathan. I hope you enjoy your stay, because..."

"It's permanent."
