The dragon's harem-Chapter 1225: What Happened
Zephyr returned to Arad using his stomach, and the two of them kept moving. This time, they were headed toward the lower sections of the Titan's castle, heading to the servants' quarter.
It was Zephyr's idea; they needed to know how exactly Gale and Zeus's fight went, and they might find an event that they could use to bring Zeus back without it looking weird. For example, a severed arm that fell into the mountain range. If they found something like that then they could easily claim that Zeus regenerate from it with an item.
Unlikely, but not impossible.
The two flew through one of the windows and found themselves in the servant's quarter. Unlike the upper floors, this one wasn't guarded with magic.
"Would you look at that? No life detection magic, no mana detection array, and not even a single scrying spell." Arad smiled and looked at Zephyr. She closed her eyes for a second and then nodded. "You're right. The array seems to be confined to the royal quarter, the office quarter, and the guest quarter."
The servants were guarded with mundane things, like actual living and breathing guards standing at the servants' quarter entrance. Those can be easily bypassed when Arad can use his magic. His void step alone allows him full freedom.
While most records of the fight are probably going to be kept as secrets, that doesn't mean they can't find them. A royal fight was a public thing, and the whole Titan kingdom would watch it, which meant that someone out there would've written about it.
Arad and Zephyr sneaked across the servants' quarters, exploring one room after another and looking for the ones who wrote diaries. They soon found many who wrote about the fight in their dairies, and what they read was quite interesting.
Most people seemed to hate Gale; they loved their old king, Zeus, a lot, and were surprised by the result of the fight.
Zeus was right; most people expected him to win. All of the servants think that Gale cheated somehow, but since they have no proof, no one would dare speak up.
It just didn't make sense when the powerful and wise Zeus lost. Most of the dairies were riddled with hatred for Gale and his wives, but there were some who focused more on the event of the fight.
Arad and Zephyr had to read and compare several diaries with each other to find similar points and get a better understanding of how the fight went.
Of course, Arad had all of the non-fighter vampires in his blood write the diaries as he read them. That allowed him to copy whole books in minutes.
The arrengement was simple. Arad had a hundred vampires looking through his eyes, each one of them ordered to write a certain line from the two pages that appeared in front of Arad.
With each page flip, the vampires copied everything in less than ten seconds. Arad then had another group of vampires compile all of the lines back into pages, which resulted in his being able to have a written copy of each diary in less than two minutes.
"Isn't that a scary thing to be able to do?" Zephyr looked at him, and he smiled, "I would be a fool not to use it." frёewebηovel.cѳm
Soon they finished going through all of the servants, and Arad had a decent idea of how the fight went.
There was one problem, though, it was clear that something off happened at the end. Zeus was supposed to be too powerful to get wounded by Gale's winds, but he did get wounded then.
Arad knew that Zeus didn't want to kill his son and was lost on purpose in the end, but that didn't matter now. What mattered is that he must find a solution where everyone is happy.
Arad considered giving Zeus the portfolio he got from Kayden and turning him into a lightning god. That would allow Zeus to ascend and leave Gale to rule his kingdom. Arad can even get Tyal to beat the living shit out of her father and take the throne.
There were already many solutions in his head. But the important question was what would be the best.
From all that he knew, Gale wasn't a bad father to Tyal. Except for the part of sending her to marry Arad, but even then, he told her that she shouldn't settle for any position less than an official wife.
Gale was just a bad son who didn't know the value of his father, Zeus. That gave Arad a personal sting. Arad was stronger than his father, Alcott, but he never tried to talk over his father's words or disrespect him like Gale did to Zeus.
Arad now wants to punch Gale at least once. If a man can't be a good son, then he will never be a good father. Now he might be treating Tyal fairly, but soon she might end up suffering at his hands.
Knowing all of that, Arad decided that his plan must at least include him giving Gale a long speech and a punch to the face. Words differ from one race to another, to each their own language, but men, their common language is their fists.
That's what Arad, as a dragon, believes at least.
Arad and Zephyr flew out of the servant's quarter and were heading to their last stop this night, the royal quarter, to sneak a peek and see if there were any secret documents there.
"What look is on your face?" Zephyr looked at Arad and sighed, "You aren't thinking of fighting Gale, are you?"
"I was, how did you know?" Arad blinked twice and asked with a confused face. Zephyr sighed, "I've seen enough dragons in my life to know. Let me tell you, you can't solve everything by just punching harder than last time. You might end up starting a blood feud for generations."
"Ah, don't worry about it. Titans rule their kingdom by might; they are warriors. He won't mind a friendly duel."
"I can't call a one-sided beat-down a friendly duel." Zephyr flew and took a seat in Arad's hair, "Don't start troubles. Let Tyal do the fighting. Remember, we're outsiders now. We have no right to be meddling in their business and internal affairs."
"Ah, that's where you're wrong, Zephyr." Arad smiled, "They wanted me to marry their daughter, which means they wanted me as a part of their internal affair. Zeus is now basically my Grandpa-in-law. I always wanted a grandpa, and I'm not letting them pronounce him dead when he is alive."
