The Martial Unity-Chapter 2967 Ensuing Battle

"Get the hell out of my way." The Devil growled with a ferocious aggression. Sage Sayfeel's expression darkened as he stood firm.

"Sayfeel."

The Dawnbringer's voice was calm.

Sage Sayfeel turned around, bowing before him. "Your Highness."

"I appreciate your efforts, but…" His eyes shifted to the Devil.

"…they are unnecessary."

Damian grinned with a perilously wild grin. "…Understood, Your Highness," Sage Sayfeel relented, gazing at the unfathomable form of the Dawnbringer. Even as he retreated, he couldn't help but think back to the child he had saved almost sixty years ago, juxtaposing it upon the current indomitable visage of the Dawnbringer that stood before him. RUMBLE…

The world boiled with peril.

It boiled with peril as Damian arrived before Rui, his suffocatingly powerful gaze of aggression and destruction fell on Rui. "I remember the first time my boy told me about you many years ago."

Rui raised an eyebrow.

"He told me…" Damian's grin widened. "He told me that there would come a day when you would surpass me."

The very fabric of heaven and earth shook as the Devil drew upon the perilous power that boiled within his being. Chills crawled across the skin of the various Martial Sages as they retreated with a fearful expression, their gazes shifting back and forth between the Devil and the Dawnbringer.

One moment, it was a pleasant morning in the Beast Domain with the bright warmth of the morning Sun. The very next?

A maelstrom of perilous flux emerged from the Devil, washing over the entire world and plaguing fear in the hearts of all those who beheld his destructive form. And yet, despite that, Rui simply gazed at him with a calm expression.

"I don't know if I have surpassed you yet."

Despite standing face to face before the Devil in the latter's prickling presence of destruction, he didn't have even the slightest hint of fear on his face or in his heart.

The Devil's grin widened.

"I guess we'll just have to find out."

One moment, they were simply standing before each other in an electric face-off.

The very next, however, the battle had already begun.

The Devil's attack came fast and furious, crackling the very fabric of the heavens as his fist blazed through the air, aimed straight at Rui's head, threatening to kill him where he stood, much less knocking him out.

BOOOM!!!

RUMBLE!

The impact that ensued upon Rui's guarded blocking of the attack shook the very world under the sheer flux of energy that spilled upon the environment around them, shaking the very fabric of the very world.

CRACK!

Rui's eyes widened as he felt his bones snapping like a twig under the sheer destructive power of the Devil. The impact flung him away across the massive open field of mud and sand in the Central Highlands of the Beast Domain.

FSSS…

He skidded across the gravel of the battlefield as the very first attack of the battle far exceeded his expectations.

And yet, the battle had just begun.

Only then did the Devil activate his Martial Heart and Mind with a savage smile widening on his face. His Martial Heart was among the most powerful that Rui had ever seen in his entire life, second only to the likes of the Gatekeeper.

It shined like a mighty Sun, infusing his body with chilling amounts of power. His Martial Mind bloomed with life as the very fabric of his being and that of the world around them shifted on a fundamental level.

The world was subsumed by destruction.

Rui's eyes widened with amazement as he beheld the sheer Destruction that emerged from the depths of Damian's being.

It was different.

It was fundamentally different from the Martial Embodiments of other Martial Sages.

It felt real.

Substantive.

As though it was no longer an illusion.

As though it was on the very verge of becoming actual.

While the Martial Embodiments of the other Martial Sages were still firmly in the realm of illusions, the Devil's Destruction felt like it was on the verge of spilling into reality itself. It truly felt like Rui was gazing at an actual maelstrom of destruction before him. And yet, that didn't mean Rui was willing to let himself get subsumed by it.

His Martial Heart and Mind blazed to life as a world of water emerged from the depths of Rui's being with supreme dominance. The Martial Sages that beheld the powerful wave of water couldn't help but stiffen with discomfort at the sheer flux of information that struck their mind.

"HAHAHA!" the Devil laughed with perilous excitement. "You've gotten even stronger! Good! After all…"

He arrived before Rui in the blink of an eye.

"…it wouldn't be any fun otherwise."
